  1. Past hour
  2. Wow. That’s outstanding! Is it for your personal collection or a commission piece?
  3. Well, the structure is complete... Now I've got a ton of cosmetic work to do on each of the balconies. 1:64 figures seem an ideal size to establish scale. 👌
  4. I’ve been chipping away at it for years. Just finished this 1/200 one yesterday. According to my calcs, if I manage to find restraint from buying more, I should be able to complete them around the same age Yoda was when he bit it.
  5. Yeeeeeh. @TangledThorns- totally agree on all fronts. I'm not even in a hurry to watch the finale after they sh*t the bed so hard with part 2.....
  6. @RT junkie - My GOODNESS! Now THAT'S a retirement plan I can get behind!!!
  7. Today
  8. That's a good looking Galactica. Yeah. I'm working up the courage to deal with that middle pylon as well, nice of Monogram NOT to have made that part correctly.
  9. It is; the current Gerald R. Ford class carriers are about 1106 ft (337m) long; Prometheus is 1679 ft (512m) long. That would make them about half-again as long as our largest naval carriers. Source: https://macross2.net/m3/sdfmacross/carrier-prometheus.htm
  10. oh no, that is @RT junkie's picture, I just used it for reference. His shelves are much more organized than my chaos.
  11. UPDATE! I just happened to find two Tamiya Dull Red rattle cans in the back of my paint/junk shelf in the garage with juuuust enough left between the two to get a good coat down! YAY! @Papa Rat - That's a LOADED question - Some people paint acyrlics onto the bare brass, I had HORRIBLE results trying that on Titanic a few years back. It just flaked right off when I handled it. Mr. Hobby makes Metal Primer both liquid and spray can but it's next to impossible to find anywhere in the lower 50 nowadays, especially now. I prefer to prime my PE with some kind of metal primer, then paint them once they are on the ship, OR the best way to do it if possible is to build all the PE and put it on the model FIRST, THEN prime and paint everything. Unfortunately, that's not always possible. Any paint should be fine after a coat of primer on PE. @Thom - I don't know yet.....haven't made up my mind.
  12. The above links to it, but here's the actual interview: https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interview/2025-12-19/crafting-a-film-about-social-media-induced-trauma-with-macross-creator-shoji-kawamori/.231248
  13. Looks like @RT junkie is going to have a very busy and happy retirement! (in 10-15 years...) Good looking collection @Shawn Now just make sure you have enough glue and paint!
  14. @Papa Rat Just back in the hobby and already completed 20 builds! And some real nice ones too! @derex3592 Hope the colors work out for you. Are you weathering it, such as rust and algae?

  16. Now THIS is my kind of post! That is a healthy collection you've got going there, have a lot of classic hard to find kits! The layer of undisturbed dust on the open ends is awesome and shows the time in the archives. You should take a half day off and remove the front layers from some of those shelves to see what is hiding on the back layer too! I love how you can always super stack the Nichimos into every nook and cranny at the tops, I've got a couple shelves looking just like this one
  17. You'll be busy. Better get started!
  18. Good luck on dialing in that red. I’m super excited to see this come together. Also…does PE play well with lacquers? I have never seen PE or handled it before firsthand.
  19. Well, my choices came down to Mr Color "Russet" or Mission Models WWII "Red Oxide" SO.... I went with Mr Color mostly for the durability, but oh my 😎, it's quiet a bright shade of red! Hobby shop didn't have my go to Tamiya rattle can of Dull Red, which I think is the perfect hull red.... I think I'll mottle this with the Mission Models acrylic and see what we get.... 🤔 I can also report that after 3 hours early yesterday morning ALL 42 50 cal guns are made up for Texas! Basically only a few stair cases left to make and PE is OVER and done with 😁
