  2. Is that the nichimo radar-x, I mean rifleman, I mean Defender?
  3. Nah, this series was definitely meant to be this short. There's a lot they could have done with it, but most of what they did was screwing around to waste airtime because they didn't even have enough actual story to fill twelve episodes.
  4. Well, shows over. I kinda get the feeling that this show was meant to be far longer, but got cut short and they just had to cram everything in The last few episodes. I definitely enjoyed it more than witch and overall thought it was fun despite many many flaws.
  5. They are listed as hg kits, so definitely perfect sense
  6. I just consider these HG's and the 1/72 perfect transformation series the MG's and it all kinda makese sense.
  7. Watched the live action How to Train Your Dragon, and I enjoyed it just as much as the animated. They kept right close to the original and managed to deepen a few scenes which, if you are going to do a remake, you should anyway, otherwise just make your own movie. It doesn't hurt that the writer/director is the same for both. Really hoped talks of the other two sequels getting the same treatment comes through.
  8. Old model with soon to be finished raider x, I mean defender!
  9. It’s a different product all together. This one is for the hg type of builder, made for simplicity and to scale better with the other hg kits that have recently been produced in 1/100 scale.
  10. Have done... unfortunately I've come up dry. It's a loanword, so I'm kind of swinging for the fences no matter what. I've tried several common substitutions in case it's a typo, but no luck thus far. Since the other ship name references have all been folklore and fantasy, I bounced it off some friends with degrees in history and literature and they reckon it's probably meant to be the Oz reference we suspect it is. Evna in the Oz books is a beautiful seaside town in a land that sits on top of the underground mines and factories of the Nome King, while the Evna in the Macross light novel is a seaside resort ship with a hidden Galaxy corporation factory in the sublevels under the resort. (Possibly also a particularly smug in-universe authority figure making a tongue-in-cheek criticism of the Macross Galaxy fleet by comparing it to Oz and the Emerald City, a place of illusory wealth and mass delusion.) Alas, no... "bu" and "vu" are completely different kana.
  11. Not sure on that, it’s a bit tough to tell from the pictures. I can see it either way, but I guess we’ll find out soon That I’m kinda doubtful on, it isn’t showing in any product pics yet , I have a feeling they’re going for the scene just before the final battle in the scenes where the faceplate is down, it appears clear. The Queadluun Rau kit has the faceplate as an option, but it’s just the color of the plastic. It may be possible to use that piece as a rough guide to make it, not sure if they’re sized the same or not.
  12. I was planning to wait for 3Z to release one of these but not sure if /when that would ever happen and this was cheaper anyways so I finally got a 1/60 Max 1A to add to the collection: And one of the main reasons I wanted one was because I had this suit waiting for it for years:
  13. Yesterday
  14. Question: does the helmet have a faceplate (transparent), or is it all "open" (not sure if the anime has it as transparent)? Was wondering if it might just be easier to fill the front of the helmet and paint it to look reflective/tinted? Update: apparently it does-
  15. Mine shipped, looking forward to it soon.
  16. I was hoping that the face might be a separate piece that fits inside the helmet. If it's all one piece then that would be a no go. If the face is separate then that makes it more possible, but I guess I'll need to see what the parts actually look like to know if it's doable.
  17. If you have some time to kill.... https://www.starwars.com/star-wars-galaxy-map
  18. I'd suggest possibly expanding your search to less literal transcriptions, maybe? I'm pretty sure you can plausibly read those katakana as "Ebner". for example, which is a German surname. Not finding anyone immediately relevant with that name in particular though.
