  1. Past hour
  2. One day I will stop logging on to the MWF every few years to go, "why doesn't Bandai just release a Chogokin DYRL VF-1 Roy, Max, or Milia? Do they not like money?" But today is not that day.
  3. Makes sense. Not sure why they really need such a large bridge crew so far in the future, but I could see things being spaced out a bit if they were all using headsets. As far as resources, I’m not sure how advanced technically they are with recycling air and what all in all they need to keep the ship going, since they could easily have a system that could change the carbon dioxide back to breathable oxygen like in a miniaturized atmosphere type of system. I just figure that far in the future that ships on longs journeys would develop something like that. I do think the bigger issues would be overall energy use like lighting and antigravity. As far as injuries, I always thought that that kind of stuff was entertaining, but silly when you take the time to think about it. They would get into combat and random consoles would explode or people wouldn’t be sitting with seat belts and just fall all over the place. At least with a silly anime like Gundam they would occasionally put on full space suits just in case of a hull breach…..sometimes.
  4. Oh wow, y'all weren't kidding. There are quite a few obstacles. They really make it harder and more expensive than this needs to be...
  5. Today
  6. Only a stupid pilot would fall for that one. It would be like throwing a ping pong ball down a hallway🥴
  7. Sorry to hear of the furnace troubles, especially at this, the coldest, time of year. I'm happy to hear that you're once again cozy and warm. Sorry, too, to hear you missed POs; I can relate, even if today was one of those seemingly rarer occurrences when I was aware of them and able to benefit. Glad you were able to secure preorders on Amazon- at least we have options in that regard, most of the time anyway. Anyway, cheers to a working furnace and the promise of new toys!
  8. Man, I didn't know anything was going up today, since I'd originally heard the 17th. Maybe the 17th will be Studio Series. Anyways, my furnace broke and I hadn't slept well all weekend because it got too cold overnight and I can't safely keep the fireplace going. The guy came to fixed it today, and it was warm and comfy and I fell asleep and Powerglide is sold out. Luckily I preordered everyone but Cliffjumper (already have two) on Amazon.
  9. 6000y msrp increase and a bunch of clown-hands that should've been included in the original release due to Bandai's patented exploitative- forward-thinking/tactics. A similar special stand may or may not be included. Bandai may get to be generous and may include the special-stand in a plastic-baggy with tv-missiles ala DX VF-1J Store-LE: But Bandai gotta be Bandai, so don't get your hopes up...
  10. Thanks guys. I appreciate it! Looks to be (for me) a skip since money's tight.
  11. This one has more hands, all the TV hands from the GBP plus the DYRL hands from the first release but no special stand, just the basic one.
  12. The first release had a special "First Release Stand" as a bonus, If the actual VF-1S has any differences remains to be seen since the pictures that Bandai posted are a mish mush and not coherent! and you get more hands...
  13. Forgive my ignorance, whats the differences between the original release and this. Just hands? Thank you
  14. I POed Powerglide, b/c I like his overall design, but as usual, his jet mode suffers the slings and arrows of Takara's carelessness. Would it have killed them to put those engine stalks on hinges so they actually sit above the wings as they should? It would've helped greatly, too, if his entire robot chest could rotate 180 so that the narrow end faced forward in jet mode. As it is, the chest ridges poking out of either side of his fuselage look terrible and they can't be unseen. I've been pretty impressed with most of the updated, upscaled Minibots thus far, but I should have checked my expectations when it came to a character who becomes a jet. I don't even see a way that an upgrade kit could fix its inaccuracies, more's the pity. gripes aside, I'm glad I got him POed as, of this post, he's sold out on Pulse.
  15. Anybody still want to import DX VF-19 Fire Valk as new and not pre-owned/used? Ami's still got one or so on their Sales page at 21,780y before shipping (as of this posting-time, at least) : https://www.amiami.com/eng/detail/?gcode=FIGURE-185514 Ami's got a slow-response thing going on these days, tho...
  16. Got Powerglide, TFA Ratchet, and TFP Smokescreen. I wanted TFP Cliffjumper, but he didn't appear with the other preorders initially and sold out within minutes, so I missed out on him once again. I thought about getting Swerve, too, as I own no toys of the character, but his alt mode looks odd with the too-small tires and those cavernous wheel wells. Just so, I'm happy with my Gears fig. Seems Hasbro severely underestimated the demand for Cliffjumper. I like that mold and thought this a good reuse. Moreover, I own no TFP Cliffy toys, and I liked how this one turned out so I was rather elated that he was going up for PO on his own instead of in a pack. Edit: I caved and got Gears anyway, despite my initial misgivings. I was thinking of getting TFP Cliffjumper at one of the other etailers, but once you factor in the high cost of processing and shipping charges, not to mention $6 sales tax for WA, I'm paying almost twenty dollars over MSRP and quite frankly, it's just not worth it. The free shipping is the primary reason I've stuck with my Pulse membership, so it grates a bit when POs sell out within moments of being posted or I miss them altogether. edit2: I POed Cliffjumper through Walmart for $24.97 + tax, and free shipping since I ordered a PS5 game too. That's even better than Pulse.
  17. This is so cool and fun. Especially as a Zentradi trap , it's awesome and hilarious
  18. Ami-global''s live now and still open as of this posting: https://www.amiami.com/eng/detail/?gcode=FIGURE-197745
  19. I remember in Star Trek III the size of the Excelsior's bridge, and how by the time we see it under Sulu's command in Star Trek VI, the bridge module had been replaced with one that was much more on-par with the ones we had seen previously. The reason I'm focusing so much on this part is that from an ergonomic viewpoint, such a cavernous bridge is going to cause a great many issues with operating as the nerve center of a starship. For one thing: on previous bridges, people were well within earshot of one another, and in proximity to the captain's chair. They could clearly hear one another without having to strain or ask people to repeat themselves, and they didn't have to raise the voices to be heard (unless they were in battle and noise on the bridge made communication difficult). On the Athena's bridge, I can just imagine hearing "WHAT??!!" constantly (among other things), and folks asking one another to repeat themselves. Another is the necessity of personnel moving from one bridge station to another. Especially in combat, you don't want to take any more time to get to a console than necessary. We've seen many times where someone at another station has had to take over for an injured/ incapacitated crewmember, let alone getting medical aid to them. While it may be only a matter of a few more moments, we've seen that seconds can count in these situations And if the bridge is that big, then how large is the engineering bay? Is it so big that the time needed to cross from one station to another becomes ridiculous? When a designer makes something so big on the inside that you could time how long it takes to cross it with a calendar, maybe it's time to sit down with them and discuss a potentially more fulfilling career other than starship design. Finally: larger spaces require more energy, more atmospheric components, and more maintenance. We're not just talking power for lights and consoles, but SIF/IDF reinforcement energies, gravity control, atmospheric consumables delivery systems and CO2 scrubbing mechanisms, and heating/cooling power. A larger area is going to take more of everything. I know some of these issues may seem minor, but they add up to a considerable ding in the energy budget of a starship, as well as maintenance/ repair and practicality overall. I'm sure also these aren't the only issues; just the ones I could think of. Thoughts?
  20. I went through hell getting Luna Park to make it right, and will never forget it.
  21. I just don't understand why the just didn't release it as a D.Y.R.L version? The small modifications would have made most people happy and they could have added Mech-Guts strike parts to make it more interesting! But no...... 🤮
  22. Time for water effects! It’s a zentradi trap, at least in my mlnd.
  23. Unless they were using better safety measures and were/are shutting the down the warp cores while on the surface.
