    May I Ask for One Final Thing? continues to be an absolute treat. Not only is seeing Scarlet gleefully, dare I say giddily, beat the tar out of the very worst and most evil kind of people in high society is deeply amusing and terribly cathartic in its own right... the author of the original work was clearly having entirely too much fun subverting the usual otome narrative tropes here. True, but that cooler's usually got provisions for a few people in it (since most folks don't go camping alone) and a few brews spread over the course of an afternoon of activity is a bit different from clearing a whole case of beers in a single protracted sitting. Gen's cooler is a 24+ can capacity model and it's still visibly full after he's had like three (and we know that he didn't pack it with ice, since he mentions using the frozen pork for that purpose). There's at least one occasion earlier in the series where he runs out of beer in just one day and ends up walking to the nearest store for more. He has like, seven or eight beers just onscreen in the course of this one episode. Let's Play served up another cringeworthy episode that feels like someone asked ChatGPT to write a romance anime using nothing but the contents of TVTropes articles.

    The Ride Armor is so chonky compared to the more recent, stylized versions. I love it. If there's a Mugen Calibur, I can hope an Ovelon Gazette will arrive later.

    I'm compiling a video of the footage I took at the event. Bandai only allows photos but NO videos, and now Kotobukiya has that same policy. Volks didn't want videos either, even though their booth was just a table. I really don't get it. Plus the event has become such a social event for me that I'm constantly running into people I know and talking for quite a while. There's a lot of photos and video I wanted to take, but didn't have a chance.

    I'm sort of thinking I wanna go see it, But the earliest show time is gonna be 1PM and man when I went to pick a seat, all were wide open......so I guess that tells you something. Should probably be a hint to studios, Leto is not someone to use.

    Maybe they'll use quality plastic this time? Honestly, I'm let down already. With all the work Bandai put into the HMR joints? This thing is twice the size and the joints look old school still.

    So I went to the All-Japan show yesterday and had a great time with Adrian from Big West and Egan from Anime News Network. We went out for Mexican food afterwards and talked for a couple of hours until I had to get back to Shinjuku and take the long, 3 hour journey back home (I was too cheap to take the shinkansen). Rest assured, the new Q-Rau has a TOS Millia figure! So I asked the Hasegawa rep why we didn't get a Kamjin with the Glaug kit. He basically said that the scale is off, and it would not have looked right. I think they are given the dimensions and they make their model accordingly. This kinda reminds me of the dilemma with the Snowspeeders from Empire Strikes Back. I wonder if the actors were sitting Indian-style in the life-size props because there is just NO leg room afforded. This 1:12 resin figure of Minmay looks like the version of her from the Macross The First manga. That's the dress she has in the first volume, with her China dress opened in front to show cleavage. I'm sure I'll get this kit when it comes out. Valkyries look so cool with just the legs extended. I love that look. The figures of Hikaru, Minmay, and Misa are gonna be plastic. I was expecting resin.
