    Run this stimulation in Solidworks during my office break time. Gonna use Ansys next round for much accurate results.

    Now that I look at it some more, if they had its trailer mode bend the other way, they could have used the windshields as windshields, and hid the nose and feet inside the container. It could have been an actual truck. Kind of a missed opportunity there.

    The cannon fodder added weak plastic to a bad design but the bad design could still lead to breaks if anyone forced it... Most of us used to handling these things will be able to avoid it... Still, stupid design.

    Well, so far, the revival is sturdy enough that I can revert those legs by prodding and feeling around without triggering an explodium chain reaction. Also, I think the explodium was limited to the cannon fodder's glitter packed black plastic not on the EX. If the granite speckle on these new joints are more homogeneous than they look, it should be fine.

    😂The classic everything you ever needed, after you need it. Didn't know such a delicious book existed. Now I gotta sit on the idea of getting a copy, but never actually doing it, because I need to spend what I can muster chasing after those toy releases lol

    Don't think he's literally trying to recreate a certain look of any specific version of the 25 there. He just borrowed his own transformation mechanism to make up a new thing for a quick april fools tie in to the collab. It literally says VF-18M Sound Hornet. Where the transformation isn't affected, he even came up with new things. The wings fold more like the Sv-51 and Draken. The sound pod looks like a fuel tank until it splits into a double speaker. The horizontal stabilizers aren't folded under an outer calf panel. The head is a period accurate to be similar to VF-19 variants. We can pretend it's new canon until something official refutes it lol. Anyway, if there's overwhelming demand for an F-14 collab, Bandai may as well finally take the excuse to make the DX VF-0. I'm fairly certain it was primarily invented exactly for the sake of having a VF-1 lookalike that can circumvent harmony gold bs.

    The F-14 variant as many know already had the Transformers/Top Gun crossover. Seeing a vf-25 head with the Maverick Helmet and wording is just odd.     link here: https://twitter.com/kawamoriexpo/status/2039342534904905752 btw, wasn't the 25G that carried the speakers? as such, that FA-18 valk doodle doesn't quite look anything like a VF-25F, even if you squint hard. Bandai should've just made Kawamori's VF-18M a reality instead...

    I think you’re right about the exaggerated look. Had to try and find some pics from the actual show I think the bottom one shows it more boxy looking rather than angled while the line art isn’t nearly as angled as the painted version, it does look like they probably were just going for an odd perspective although the overhead does kind look angled very slightly and the pads appear slightly smaller at the closer they get to the top possibly suggesting a bit of a taper

Some might say the Admiral Kuznetsov is unsinkable... because a seemingly unending string of accidents, mechanical and electrical failures, and other calamities make it unlikely she'll ever leave drydock again.

    Was watching a guy on YouTube a week or two ago that would work on many toy lines and he has some interesting stories. He was talking about one of the classic style masters of the universe redos, and he said that they had to use the actual figure in some cases to redo molds that were either lost of destroyed. The figures mentioned ended up slightly smaller than the original since it was essentially a copy of a copy kind of thing. It was on the Spector Creative channel on YouTube, you may want to check out some of his videos, they deal more with toys than models, but as far as the molding process and problems it’s a very similar thing. Some of his videos are very informative about things but aren’t super long.

    Man, I know the old Monogram kit is a disaster, but how do you even manage to produce decals (and the entire box sample for that matter) that inaccurate?

    I would imagine those molds are made to varying degrees of durability, based on the initial investment and predicted longevity of the kit. Higher investment and better materials would probably last longer. These days though, everything is most likely CNC milled, so while molds do degrade, it's not like they're ever actually lost. Still will take time and investment to remake them, but the CAD files shouldn't be lost.

    Considering how much better this is than your typical Takara jet, I find this hilarious.
