@pengbuzzThanks for sharing. It’s wonderful to have such an amazing partner in life. ♥️ Working with yard debris. Making some dry environmental grass clumps. Good old white glue don’t fail me now. 😂

IGN gave it a 9 which is relief but I didn't read the review to avoid spoilers. https://www.ign.com/articles/alien-earth-review

It always amazes me how you can turn tape into something cool like that.

I got so distracted by how the legs look like they’re falling off that I didn’t notice how the arms also look like they’re falling off

@SteveTheFish "Build a doggy horse for me!' That is too cute! Just a peak into the Pengbuzz-level of awesomeness!

Anyone know where to get a good high res image of this poster? This may just be me seeing what I want to see, but I think there are some interesting designs in the background that I'd LOVE to see made into toys/models.

I think the saucer needs to be a little bigger.

Actually, it was scratch built from masking tape and cardboard (and a few scrap model parts): This was it in progress circa September 30, 2021; this is how it began: The original posts begin here- https://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/topic/35120-whats-lying-on-your-workbench-mk-iv/page/317/#findComment-1596128

@pengbuzz I already typed this yesterday, but I must have clicked away from the tab before sending it and lost it. Great story, and I have to chime in with praise for your wife. Actually, my wife is the reason why I got back into this hobby about 26 years ago. She came home from work with an AMT Star Wars AT-AT plastic model from the hobby store on the corner where her bus stop is. She asked me, "You know how to build models, right? You've built them before. Build a doggy horse for me!" (That's what she always called Imperial Walkers and they were her favorite part of Star Wars. She even has a Kenner AT-AT toy.) So I built it with only minimal painting, just leaving the gray plastic as-is and wiped some enamel on it for a bit of weathering. Since then, I've grown modeling experience from there. I'm glad she bought that for me, because I then remembered how enjoyable the hobby is. It's good to have a wife who's supportive of your hobbies. So is that Cat's Eye a resin kit?

Describes ThreeZero's Robo-Dou VF-1s, too! 👍

Model cement won't work on that kind of plastic; it looks to me like too much pressure was applied to it during assembly and it let go. I recommend Permatex Plastic Welder (order via NAPA or Amazon); I've had excellent luck with that. It's a 2 part epoxy like adhesive with tremendous hold and strength: https://www.amazon.com/Permatex-84145-Permapoxy-Black-Plastic/dp/B00THUUVSU

So after a recent trip to galloping ghost.. I found a capcom game called Tech Romancer. It came out in 1998 in arcades and also had a Dreamcast port. It has a mech called wiseduck, which is very close to the Monster.. doing some research,, and no wonder https://capcom.fandom.com/wiki/Tech_Romancer Mechanical Design: Shoji Kawamori, Kazutaka Miyatake

Maybe if this were the OG series Enterprise I'd bite, the D is cool, but just not my jam, I still have my massive Playmobil Enterprise so that's good enough for me I guess.

Not to be overly harsh, but I feel like the nacelles are the only shape there that really works well. The angled panel patchwork is a lot harsher when you can't cover it up with greeblies like the Falcon sets. I have to think there are enough angled tiles available to get that edge smoother. Still, will be happy to grab one. I think the colors on the edge of the saucer are causing some issues though. I think I do see a tiny shuttle mounted behind the main bay as well. Actually.. I'm kind of tempted to get two, and rebuild one as the Galaxy-X. I feel like the extra superstructure and phaser cannon would cover up some of the uglier parts.
