Are the thighs on G1 OP and UM's core made of die cast? It's been a very long time since I handled that figure and I don't recall. However, that would account for my mistaking them for being chromed, as they're pretty shiny in the pics. I was thinking, too, that there may be a moveable panel to allow for more forward knee travel, but I couldn't make it out if there is. There could also just be more clearance in the leg mold to allow for the thighs to swivel forward a bit. Regardless, I'm thinking the pics show the extent, or very close to the full extent of thigh forward motion. If it could kick up higher, I'm thinking they would've shown it for the 'ooh, ahh' factor.- 17601 replies

What's lying on my workbench (couch). I purchased something that has been suggested to me through one of my many ali express orders for RC car parts. For a whopping 7.65€. I couldn't say no to this. The box arrived squished up, so I hoped the pieces would be okay. Checking the pieces - they seemed fine. Everything is snap-fit, colored already and printed on. The assembly is straight forward. Here is a little step by step: The super detailed landing gears - I've never seen them this detailed before XD: And done: With wings that can be swept in It were a fun 5 minutes to snap this thing together. Probably the least accurate Tomcat ever, but hey - 7 euro-something for a plane already painted and printed on? I don't complain. haha... look at those huge panel lines. hahahaa

Thanks, i checked nin-nin but the pre-order seems to be already sold out or not available yet(!?!). Not quite sure whether it will ever become available at this point...and thanks for the other tips but i buy regularly from japan. The problem is that with Gunpla kits, especially limited ones are almost impossible to buy from japan resellers if you live in europe. Thanks again anywyway for your seuggestions.

I guess it’ll answer the question for Macross vs Star Trek, at least from trek biased people

I would buy them from there, but almost all the kits I’ve wanted end up web exclusive. The only standard one I’ve wanted recently that I preordered got oversold and now I’m on the waiting list for the next batch of Gallus j’s. Other than that, I can’t really think of a standard release gundam kit that I was excited for in the last couple years

I found a preorder here: https://www.nin-nin-game.com/en/gundam/195711-re100-1100-mobile-suit-gundam-f91-xm-02-den-an-ge-limited-edition-bandai-spirits-.html I never used this store but others had positive experiences with it I believe. I usually bought my Gunpla from HLJ. They usually have all the non exclusive kits. If you have never bought from Japan before aware that you have to pay 20% customs fres/VAT on top when you import the item from a non EU country if the total order (including shipping costs) is over €100 (this might vary from country to county. On top, the local carrier usually has a service fee to import the item for you (filling out the customs paperwork). For me that is usually around €7 for DHL. Plus shipping from Japan can get expensive too when you buy from smaller stores (i.e. not Amazon Japan).

Sentinel calls it 1:48, despite rampant evidence to the contrary. 😒 Anyone familiar with the anime will question Sentinel's diminutive stature (and the way the pilot barely squeezes into the cockpit), and logically conclude it's closer to 1:60 scale... Of course, the old "Tatsunoko's official stats are whack" argument is akin to flogging a dead horse nowadays.

I totally forgot he was in that. Although probably better to remember him for that than the guy who f..ks fish -
I think it all depends if there is something built into the wings that makes it more difficult to stow them away somewhere where they won't get damaged when a Battroid has to do something like a forward roll in combat or have its back right up against the wall (for safety) when breaching an enemy ship. The VF-27 is a good example: engine pods in the wings makes it pretty darn hard to neatly stow the wings away. The VF-25, on the other hand, leaves a lot to be desired as it has the "well, screw it" vibe. I do appreciate how Kawamori-san is always trying to do new things. I really like it when he breaks the mold (so to speak), and comes up with an imaginative transformation mechanism, especially with the wings. The VB-6 and Sv-262 are great in that the wings themselves become the legs. The VF-9 is also imaginative, with the wings becoming the torso/chest. I think it all boils down to the role that the VF is being put into. The ones for first contact with an alien race (VF-1) or front-line infantry roles (VF-11, VF-25, etc.) ought to have wings stowed away more carefully—so they're less likely to get damaged or be in the way during combat. With the ones designed for other roles, having a bunch of junk hanging off the back is much more acceptable (E.g. the artillery support oriented VB-6; coincidentally also the role of the vtol thing on the bottom left 👍 ). But that's just my opinion. The wonderful thing about Macross, is Kawamori-san is attempting to cater to as many different tastes as possible.

Decided to Google some of these guys. Andrew Koji (Ryu) was, like I said, Storm Shadow in Snake Eyes. He was also in Bullet Train. Noah Centineo (Ken) was mostly in Disney Channel stuff, but he did play Atom Smasher in Black Adam. Callina Liang (Chun-Li) has been in almost nothing. Cody Rhodes (Guile) is, as @pengbuzznoted, a pro wrestler. He did have a small part in the CW show Arrow. Orville Peck (Vega) isn't an actor at all, but a country music singer who's made a gimmick out of wearing a mask. I think most of us know who 50 Cent (Balrog) is... the star of the hit action game 50 Cent: Bulletproof. Likewise, Jason Momoa (Blanka) is super famous thanks to his role as Conan in 2011's Conan the Barbarian. I think Street Fighter might be the Hollywood debut of Vidyut Jammawal (Dhalsim), but he's done plenty of Bollywood stuff where he does his own fight scenes. Olivier Richters (Zangief) has been in a couple movies you've heard of, including Marvel's Black Widow, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, The King's Man, and Borderlands. The problem is he gets roles like "Huge Machine Shack Guard" and "Warehouse Guy." Hirooki Goto (E. Honda) is another pro wrestler, but mostly in New Japan Pro Wrestling, not the WWE or anything. He did have a part in a Kamen Rider movie, but looks like this is his Hollywood debut. I already told you guys that David Dastmalchian (M. Bison) was Polka-Dot Man in The Suicide Squad, but you may also know him as the Kurt, Scott Lang's hacker friend in Ant-Man, or as William Borden in Oppenheimer. He's done a number of voice roles in some DC animated films as well. Roman Reigns (Akuma) is yet another pro wrestler. His resume as an actor is pretty thin, but he did play one of the Rock's brothers in Hobbs and Shaw. Andrew Schulz (Dan) is a comedian. He's been in a few movies and TV shows, but literally nothing I've seen, so 🤷♂️ Eric Andre (Don Sauvage) is a case where I think most of us are more familiar with the actor than the character. Don Sauvage isn't a fighter, he's a ring announcer who plays a role in Zangief's story in Street Fighter V. Mel Jarnson (Cammy) hasn't been in much, but you might have seen her as Nitara in the Mortal Kombat reboot film. Rayna Vallandingham (Juli) is another young actress with a short resume, but she was in Cobra Kai, which isn't nothing. Side note, Cammy and Juli, but no Juni? Where's my other Bison doll? Alexander Volkanovski (Joe) is a mixed martial artist who's competed in a number of UFC events, but I don't know that he's acted before. Joe, if you were wondering, is a shirtless guy with red pants you fight in the original Street Fighter game, but AFAIK hasn't been in any games since. All-in-all, given the limited acting experience (but extensive martial arts/wrestling careers), I'm guessing that Ryu will be the primary protagonist, with maybe Ken and Chun-Li as secondary protagonists, Bison will be the primary antagonist, and pretty much everyone else will show up for a fight or two before being discarded by the plot. -
Interested in the missile/rifle kit.

That is just sad.

Traced artwork is pretty darn common in western comics. Most of the ships in those panels are obviously traced, even the Federation starships.

I get what you mean, and given my love for the 25, it obviously hasn't been a huge obstacle for me, either, just that I appreciate the design effort that went into the earlier valks and have to grin a bit at the later ones that give a bit of the "well, screw it" vibe with the battroid wing placements. Still look darn cool anyway.😁
