  2. That's Pailsen from the OVA, it's a nice touch!
  3. Poor vf-17, looks so frail beside it.

    1/55's revisited

I'm definitely checking mine later today. How could this have escaped my attention? I'm not a fan of paint-on-plastic, so this would have disappointed me to no end if I'd noticed it.
  5. It’s pretty rare. I always hope they won’t give up, but they usually do. They rarely fail to fail in the end

    1/55's revisited

Any way to get a picture of the sticker placement without so much glare on the pic? Super hard to see anything lol Painted nozzles on the VT-1 booster, now THERE is some Macross Trivia. "And now for the final question, for $1,000,000, are the VT-1 1/55 Nozzles molded in color or painted"?

  8. Don't know that I'm going to be all that creative in my project, but it's funny because my mind went in two similar directions. I was also thinking of AX style super packs (really don't know why the Seigfried doesn't do that as well instead of the over wing, off centerline arrangement that makes my physics nerves twitch) for the 24 as a way of keeping the general profile of the 25 but still making this it's own thing. Building a hard point into the joint for it shouldn't be a problem. I was also thinking of double joints as well, though in my case it was to make the wings fold flat onto the back in battroid. Or, at least, tuck closer in to not have quite so much of a cape effect (though that works against the super packs, still working on that aspect). I don't hate the idea of flipping or sliding the wing tips to match up with the tail fins, so may look at that as well. Mission creep? Why no, whatever do you mean? Just a simple project to make a 24, how hard could it be? 😉
  9. While that probably wouldn't be very useful in combat given the main detection and ranging systems are non-visual (radar, lidar, infrared), that's not to say it wouldn't be very useful in a defensive context. Using the programmable coating to make the exterior of a parked aircraft match the color and texture of the ground underneath them would go quite a ways towards hiding aircraft from aerial or satellite photography. Like the camouflage netting used to conceal aircraft on the ground today, but built directly into the aircraft. We also see Delta Flight switch seamlessly from airshow colors to low-viz greys at one point in the series, which would also be very useful for avoiding detection and identification by strictly visual means (since they have active stealth to hide from radar).
  10. well that suck, or they just lazy to made radar dome on 1/72 VF31E.
  11. One thought: use the smart coating to display the background behind them. May not be true optical stealth, but it'd certainly mess with an enemy pilot's visuals! *Yeah, I know there's a bunch of reasons this wouldn't work. Just being my usual self here!*
  12. Pretty normal for a Macross inclusion then... the same approach Kawamori normally uses. Drawing on both versions freely and interchangeably with an explanation that's a polite-ish way of saying "I do what I want". 😆 Yep... thanks to that smart coating technology, there's strictly speaking nothing stopping anyone in-setting from doing something like the above... which is an official plamodel kit with official decals. (The Bandai 1/72 Roid Brehm use Sv-262Hs Draken III.) Then again, the Frontier New UN Spacy didn't seem to mind its pilots putting racy paintings on their strictly-military-issue aircraft even without the benefit of the programmable smart coating: How Maruyama sold his superiors on this paintjob for frontline combat use might just be the greatest story never told. That's his commanding officer's girlfriend! Well, that or how Canaria Bernstein persuaded the famously overprotective Ozma Lee to let her paint an explicit picture of his little sister Ranka on her VB-6 Konig Monster... 🙃 Passionate Walkure was at least partly a compilation movie, so I wouldn't call that "slapdash" so much as "par for the course". Normally when a protagonist switches machines in a Macross story they move to a completely different and visually distinct aircraft. I think Macross Delta might be the first time the protagonist switches back to the old machine with a different paintjob.
  13. Wow. Love the mask!
  14. With that mask above, it would be an interesting one to do as a duo for trick or treating where one has that mask and the other just has the missing flap of skin as a mask
  15. This is actually a rerelease from 2018 if I remember correctly. I was super excited when the ps version was originally announced since I was disappointed that the first version didn’t have the pilot or downform capabilities . and there actually was a 1/24 kit recently, although it’s a plamax kit and probably why wave didn’t do it.as a slight edit, the wave 1/35 that is currently up for preorder is the same as the original release, but not including the bonus figure, other than that it is just a re release
  16. Um... we need to talk about how much of that new skin cream you've been using. I think it may be a little harsh....
  17. Wave is releasing a new version of the X-ATH-P-RSC Blood Sucker in 1/35 with a regular Gilgamesh pilot figure... Not sure why they didn't do a 1/24 version for their new line!? Pre order on Amazon release in January 2026
  18. Wow looks like Robotech fans when you say Macross. Happy Halloween!!🎃
  19. I used to work at a medical university and this looks like one of the things we saw on a bed in the willed body room once. Although the real thing was a bit more unsettling sine the face skin was peeled down, yet still attached and the eyes were still in the sockets. Some rather gruesome stuff over there.
  20. Bandai almost never completes any line up of a series. Its like their core value at this point.
  21. Probably more interest in the hg line and cheaper to design since they’re not fully transformable.
  22. This year's the 40th anniversary of Robotech, actually... 😝 It's a moot point, though. I'll be busy with work all weekend, and will barely have any time to visit the modeling exhibit, much less participate. 😓 However, given that deadline's not hanging over my head any more, I can put more time into Halloween prep instead: I've been asked to host an event downtown, so I can display some of the masks I've painted. 😋
  23. why Bandai didn't want to make 1/72 SCALE of VF31E?
  24. Hacchaka’s review of the MB Hyper Mega Launcher: https://hacchaka.net/archives/52126307.html This is probably the pose I’m going with on my display but firing downwards:
