One:12 Stealth Iron Man showed up today.

Boy, I just can’t find lighting that gets across how amazing this blue really is.  Too bad the thigh swivel is so loose most standing positions turn him into a knee-knocked mess, though.

The keep trying to post pictures but any pics I don’t take in wide view keep failing to upload now...  I had to crop them for some reason.

Fantastic! Both my Iron Men are waiting to ship still.

Looking at preview photos and watching reviews I wasn’t very happy with the color of the Stealth one but having it in hand it looks great.  I hope your thigh swivels are tighter than mine are.

It looks pretty damn good to me in the pics so if it gets even better, all the better. Is the thigh issue on yours something easily fixed with some future?

I don't know, I've never used Future.  The joint I'm referring to isn't easy to access.  It's not like a marvel legend where there's a clear cut line.  The ball fits down into the socket in the thigh and I don't know if there's a way to let the future run down into the thigh.  If that makes any sense..

Nice haul!

You plan on getting the Quattro Vagina figure when it comes out?

Thanks!  I'm thinking about it haha but still deciding.  How about you?  I'm running low on space for figures and the Sheryl was larger than I expected lol, but it's awesome.  I've also got Aina Saharin pre-ordered.  My figure collection is a little all over the place :pardon:

Nice..ah, i want the Arcadia :D

Thanks!  There's still some on Amazon if you're interested :good:

I trimmed down awhile back, preferring to use my money and space on mecha and ships. It's mostly only Macross figures now, but I'll make a rare exception every now and then.

Something like this, even though I didn't even like the show that much.

Being the idiot that I am.... and believe me, I am an idiot...

I just won 4 chunky monkey toy auctions thru YJA (using Buyee as proxy):

VF-1J Max 2002,  VF-1J Miria 2002,  VF-1A DYRL Hikaru 2002  and VF-1S Super Hikaru 2002

And I was not even being frugal about it... I went into "in it until you win it" mindset. (Never take me to a casino.... NEVER take me gambling....)

Welp, that is $600 down the drain, before shipping costs. *sigh*  Hopefully consolidating those 4 into 1 box will lower the shipping bill I will see several days from now.

And all this is before considering the VF-1J Hikaru 2002, VF-1A Super Max 2008, and Klan Klan SMS cosplay uniform w/ wig that I bought a few days ago from Mandarake.

Like I said, I am definitely an idiot. God, why can't I just blow this kind of money on jewelry or handbags or drugs or alcohol like normal people?

At least, I think I have largely satiated my Chunky Monkey urges.... It took about $1000 or so, but I think I have most of the 1/55's that I want.

The only thing I am keeping an eye out for now is the VF-1A Super Hikaru 2008. Sure, I'd love to get the Super Ostrich and Elintseeker too, but those are so expensive that they are pretty much off my radar. Plus pieces from 1984 are hard to find in good condition.

Sincerely from your resident Macross toy addict,

Is this an indictment of you or MIT?

The Venn diagram of my life would show that the domain of my math and computer science prowess does not intersect with the domain for common sense.

As shown in the diagram above, most of my finances is allocated to my Macross toy addiction, with little of my finances dictated by common sense. And since I am still a student, my major does not contribute much to my finances.

I'm starting to wonder how you are going to safely move you collection after you graduate and land a job.  More so if that job is nowhere near your current location.

Future is very easy to use. I’d have to see but you could dip a toothpick in it and then drip into hard to reach areas. Then you just move the joint around and the future will coat it. Wait a day and it should be good or repeat the process to get a thicker coat in there.

Idiot or not, you went from no collection to one of the most impressive collections around in a few months. Good work.

I have much, much more in my entire collection and have moved around the world and across the nation. It’s a pita but doable. Toys are actually the easy part. The worst is hauling dozens of comic long boxes around.

Why do you keep purchasing the wings only?

NIce, that's a cool one.  I've only got two macross figures right now, still undecided on that Arcadia one that is coming out.  I've been hooked on the Yamato and Gundam figures...and trying my darndest to avoid looking at the Attack on Titan Figures.  My brother and I try to split our collections so that we at least cover what the other doesn't have lol.

Got my Metal Build Eva, plus the ¥30,000 Gunpla Lucky Bag from Banzai Hobby (which took ~3months via ferry to arrive).

Haul.thumb.jpg.2626bede8f9d96126b6c45720267fd88.jpg584916867_HaulA.thumb.jpg.70d8c01f178c04f15985e46ff0262bc8.jpg1711602956_HaulB.thumb.jpg.70d3c0a87bdeb2009c47dd2284ba1661.jpg1741279829_ZeonShorts.thumb.jpg.d7d673f13f7a5fa455a7c76bc80a6494.jpg

Honestly, I feel they cheaped out a bit this year, promised 5RG/2MH/1HiRM kits plus 3 clear files, an Action Base 3, and a pair of Zeon Shorts. For the "More Gunpla Kits!" it was just the 2 figure-rise busts. Which at least matched the MG kits. Also ¥11,500 of the promised value was those shorts that don't even fit.

Wow, nice haul! Never seen that Scooby Batmobile or the P-Cars or the VW...I want all those!

Thanks!  They had an extra Tesla Roadster, both of those Mercedes, the Volkswagen, and the Ford Escort.  I now have an extra of that Porsche 917 if you want it but the card is a little roughed up.

You should start selling some toys you don't like anymore...

to buy more toys you want! :D

lol that was bad advice. Anyway when I started making a spreadsheet to double-check the charges on my CC, that's when I worried about my spending. Maybe you should also try that to rein in your spending (if you want to control it more, I mean having the toys are great haha). Thankfully for me my focus recently seems to be on cheaper Gundam kits. There's also nothing new in the Macross toy market for now--I guess my preference for 'new' helps me not buy previous Macross stuff 2nd hand. (But damn I will be in trouble if they announce Macross Frontier reissues...)

Haha! My advice would be to only buy toys you will always like. But no one should listen to me since I have all my toys since childhood.

Lucky you. I wish I was smarter about keeping old toys and had parents that were wiser about that sort of thing instead of throwing them away. Especially since they were the ones actually paying for the toys.

Haha, thanks! I was very lucky in that sense. I don’t get throwing toys away unless they are completely broken and useless. But I feel that way about most things. I’d rather give something away then throw it away. On the other hand, I have way too much stuff.

I have all my toys from childhood too:

40 stuffed animals, 8 SAT prep books, and several figure skates in storage.
