rsvictor1976 Posted April 25 Posted April 25 I ended up preordering from Nin Nin but I found it odd that the option to ship through FedEx/DHL was cheaper than the EMS option, yet was still estimated to be the fastest delivery time. Quote
Lolicon Posted April 25 Posted April 25 Completely forgot about this preorder. Still available at HLJ so I picked one up. This is the way preordering should be. Quote
treatment Posted April 25 Posted April 25 fwiw, The Bandai DX VF-19 Kai has the same release-date as the Arcadia 1/3000 SDF-1 reissue. If Arcadia doesn't delay its product, that is. As such, try to plan accordingly (including tariffs and stuff) ... Quote
Bishop Posted April 26 Posted April 26 I got one preordered at HLJ as well, they seem to have stop taking new orders. FOMO again for me, but I am sure I will enjoy it. Quote
Sanity is Optional Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Well, was busy working on a work project due Monday, and guess I missed all the preorders. Oh well, at least it wasn't a Valk I was super into. Quote

I might fall victim to the late tax on this one, but I'm with you on wait-and-see. Quote
Radioguy Posted Tuesday at 09:49 PM Posted Tuesday at 09:49 PM For those looking for a restock on this, it may just be one piece, but listed as new: https://www.nin-nin-game.com/en/macross/16635-the-super-dimension-fortress-macross-sdf-1-macross-tv-ver-megahouse-en.html Quote

jvmacross Posted yesterday at 01:25 AM Author Posted yesterday at 01:25 AM The Megahouse SDF-1 sells for an average of about 20K JPY on YJA....original MSRP back in 2016 I believe was 7K JPY...I wouldn't call selling something that was released 9 years ago for more than the original MSRP as scalping....but Nin-Nin does need to price is more realistically... Radioguy Posted yesterday at 08:37 AM Posted yesterday at 08:37 AM Yeah, not defending the pricing which is a LOT more than Mandarake when they have it. Still, aside form how old it is and that it's new, there are few decent TV version SDF-1 iterations after Takatoku (I still think this is too small, and not even on par with WHAM's DYRL one). You also have to wonder if the uptick is also due to the increased SDF-1 talk of the DYRL reissue from Arcadia. Nin-Nin taking advantage of that as well. Quote
PointBlankSniper Posted yesterday at 10:53 AM Posted yesterday at 10:53 AM I've said in some other thread before. Nin-nin are scalpers. Their prices are automated to go up exponentially as stock goes down. And then continues to go up over time at the last unit or two. It's a promised future extortion if you don't buy now. Basically they are coersion scalpers, so I avoid using them if they aren't the last choice left, or significantly lower priced during PO, and I have to not have anything I want to combine for shipment, because their policies for that are not really to your convenience either. jvmacross Posted yesterday at 12:22 PM Author Posted yesterday at 12:22 PM If only prices somehow went down when available stock became scarce.....or better yet, prices stayed the same forever....lol Quote

I don’t get it. Isn’t this what happens with most collectibles that have a limited run? Quote
MisaForever Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago (edited) Welp. Sucks that I pre-ordered my SDF through Nin-Nin I guess but I've purchased from them in the past and have no complaints. Edited 10 hours ago by MisaForever Quote

No. Normal retailers sell retail products close to MSRP, especially during launch period. They don't scalp at launch or even during preorder period, and start antique pricing while it's still available at other retailers and second hand stores, just because their own stock is low but not clearing out. On the contrary, most other retailers would lower prices or put on sales to clear inventory instead. Quote

Well not exactly bought the High Metal-R Scopedog ATM-09-ST (AT) from Mandarake at 25,000 yen, Which is a Tamashii Nation Exlusive and would have cost 25,300 yen from them since tax is always a given from P-Bandai, will be delivered Monday - Purchased yesterday...
