  1. I don't know. Say what you want about Lynch's Dune, but Partick Stewart is the best Gurney Halleck.
  2. I haven't watched enough of Arrow to keep myself current, but I have read other good reviews and keep meaning to revisit the show. The Flash would definitely draw me back to the CW. I used to watch the 1990s show with John Wesley and Amanda Pays. The goofy outfits and the series cancellation were unfortunate, although I always thought that those involved did a good job wrapping up the story. Since the CW seems to know what it is doing with DC characters, It will be interesting to see how well this Flash fares.
  3. Hm. I guess it's a damned if you do damned if you don't scenario. Thankfully, there are some Americans (even in the U.S.) who are not so spoiled to demand instant gratification day in and day out. And when something is out of their reach (that is, too expensive or just unavailable in some way), they either save up, bank on the generosity of a friend, or move on. As Mick Jagger wisely once put to song, "You can't always get what you want."
  4. Yeah! The 1/60 Low Vis is a sight to see in person. I really like the contrast when comparing it to the standard VF-1S. The VF-1D is my first 1/60 Macross TV Valkyrie. And the VE-1 is a great addition to the two Arcadia 1/60 DYRL Valkyries that I own. For me, there is something about a unique Valkyrie that is hard to resist; add a set of fastpacks, and I'm all in.
  5. I picked up a few new-to-me Yamato Valkyries during my own panic buy at the end of February: 1 x 30th Anniversary VF-1D 1 x 30th Anniversary VE-1 Elintseeker 1 x VF-1S Low Visibility Although used, each toy was mint. I think that was a decent toast to Yamato.
  6. Nice, CrazyDude! I was wondering if anyone else was watching The Pilot's Love Song. It is also in my queue and I have been savoring it. I somehow fell behind on Kill la Kill, but am now caught up again. What a rollercoaster ride! And Mako Mankanshoku just had to step it up...for friendship!
  7. Woah. Hot stuff. I would have missed the box set without your tips. Thanks, Marzan and Keith! I enjoyed streaming both this and Robotics;Notes and look forward to watching them again on Blu-ray.
  8. A great show with some intense moments. I'm looking forward to the second season and the movie.
  9. I think I am the only one who was spooked by the fact that the release of the YF-19 was pushed forward into March. I was hopeful last year with all the releases that Arcadia was delivering on time for the holiday season. However, my single wish for this year is that I see more than one Valkyrie released for 2014. That's it, really.
  10. Well, I guess it is time for this show to have its own thread (as long as the mods allow it). Anyway, I'm looking forward to the next episode. Wikipedia notes that there are 24 in all plus an OVA planned for September.
  11. My GX-64 Yamato arrived today, just two days after I received my Megahouse Okita PVC figure. I think that's the fastest delivery I've ever received from Japan to my front door by EMS, and the ship is fantastic. That review above does seem to be more of a joke, which is too bad. I agree with everyone else in hoping that some serious reviews are posted soon.
  12. Well, I think this thread needs more anime. I started watching Rouroni Kenshin, the TV series, from the beginning with subtitles now that Crunchyroll has a license. I used to watch random episodes dubbed on Cartoon Network years ago. This and Inuyasha were hard to follow because of Cartoon Network's loopy anime schedule at the time. The Trust and Betrayal OVAs are two favorites of mine, and serve as a nice contrast telling Kenshin's backstory. I'm looking forward to watching the rest of the story that I've missed.
  13. No, you were not the only one cringing when the box cutter entered the frame. I thought it was going to become a Yamato 2199 slasher review.
  14. I picked this up on VHS when I started my Macross addiction. I am definitely in!
  15. It's too bad the Anime Classics release was limited with an initial run of buggy DVDs. I would also welcome another general subtitle release on either DVD or Blu-ray. For now, I'm excited about the toy news. Megahouse has been doing a great job with the Yamato PVC figures.
  16. I still have that Galaxy Commander set with instructions, but the box is long gone. That and the Starfleet Voyager were favorites of mine when I was a kid. The combined modes of both sets inspired many imaginary stories. I have the Futuron Monorail Transport System too. Most of my old legos are packed away today, though, due to a shortage of display space.
  17. Okay, now I'm curious about the Macross reference from the last episode of Kill la Kill. This scene stuck out for me, in particular:
  18. Kyp, your enthusaism is catching! At amiami's price, I broke down and placed my order too. Now to wait for the Arcadia.
  19. I was doing my best to hold out on the battleships, but the Arcadia could be my tipping point. I think hobby search still has the GX-64 in stock. Showcasing them both together would be sweet.
