  1. please do, I beg you, or at least PM me. PLEASE!
  2. Yeah, a Giant submersible aircraft carrier is completely unrealistic within the context of a show where humans fight 30 foot tall giants using Jets fighters that operate in space and turn into giant robots while being added by the power of song... and missile spam. But to your question as to why build it. First I've never heard anything about the actual depth it's capable of diving to. In fact I've never read anything about the ships performance submerged at all. If there is such info out there then who ever has it can add it as they wish. Anyways the Prometheus and Daedalus are both discribed as semi-submersible. Now the logic behind them that I've heard is as fallows: the idea was that if and when invading aliens did arrive, these ships would be able to dive under water deep enough and long enough that they could survive an initial surface bombardment. Once the aliens stop blasting the crap out of everything, the ships would resurface and deploy VF's and destroids to counter attack. This plan, like every other one the UNG came up with in SDF:M, of course when to hell in a hand basket when the Zentraid actually did show up so this capability was never put to use. The real reason though is that they needed to be able to justify how a terrestrial aircraft carrier and LST are able to function in space. :edit: and as for real world comparison, the idea of taking an up-scaled version of a super carrier and making it submersible is ridiculous but the idea of an air craft carrier submarine is hardly out of the question. real world versions are much closer to the Auerstädt however, where it's basically a Ballistic missile sub style design that can launch aircraft from it's tubes instead of missiles. submersible aircraft carriers actually were deployed all the way back in WWII by the Japanese, and there have been fairly recent studies into the possibility of launching armed UAV's form the vertical launch tubes of US boomers.
  3. I like it, turned out very nice.
  4. you don't know the half of it, I've been trying to do about $2,000 worth of camera and lens upgrades by that time and the job search has been going like crap.
  5. I really hope your wrong because that sounds absolutely horrible.
  6. Oh, I see what you're getting at now. The part with the sub intake is separate from the main intake. gotcha.
  7. technically not in japan, and since it doesn't actually show anything anatomical it's not either way. still it's not even how old they're say they are, they're drawing, they can say whatever they want. (technically loli Klan isn't under aged, since she's the same age as her adult self) it's more that they make them LOOK like a child. Cathy and Klan are clearly adults and while technically Sheryl and Nanase are under aged by US standards they still look pasable as being over 18.
  8. Isn't the battroid crotch a single piece that's only used in battroid mode anyways? And since there's extra armor on the crotch they'd need to redesign that part anyways (this can only be displayed as the armored version right?), how much harder/more expensive would it be to move the hip bar down a few millimeters while they're at it? Unless moving the legs down a few millimeters suddenly makes this impossibly top heavy or something (which I doubt) I see no reason to not produce it with a fixed crotch after showing it as such. Now in bandai's defense, it could be that since it's a prototype maybe they ended up using the old crotch instead of the new one, and the final product will be fixed.
  9. how does gutting out all the potentially important stuff behind the pilots seat on a plane and rendering it incapable of being used on combat missions make less sense than taking a plane and painting it? Considering they were willing to devote a dozen or so CF's for the ceremony I'd think they would be willing to take one more plane out of rotation long enough to paint it, fly it during the wedding then restore it's old paint job. And if for some reason there was an emergency situation that required the need for that particular plain to be deployed in combat they could easily re arm it and send it out still wearing the wedding scheme, it's not like paint will diminish the planes combat capability. Now taking a 1J and gutting the cockpit to make room for a second seat makes no sense. It would probably take just as long if not longer to completely revamp the cockpit to accept a second seat and still work than it would to paint a plane, but unlike paint, the modification to the plane means it can't be used in combat until you fix it which could take days (and the chances max's 1J would be needed in an emergency is much greater than a random 1D). As for sticking a 1D cockpit onto his 1J, do we even know for sure that you can do that? The cockpit section may be detachable but it may not be compatible between J and D models considering how there are big differences between the main body of each plane. And they'd still not be able to transform the plane until you swap the nose sections back out again so once again it's not usable for combat missions, and where did they get the extra 1D nose if they're too strapped for planes to spare a whole 1D?
  10. I'm not sure what you're getting at?
  11. that's kind of creepy.
  12. it's so beautiful... T-T
  13. what, you wouldn't want an all 1S skull squadron?
  14. there's honestly so much better stuff coming along, I'm not really interested in a kakizaki anything except maybe a DYRL kaki 1S (which won't happen)
  15. ouch... that's one expensive radome.
  16. ok, so how much is the VE-1 going to cost?
  17. the E3 parts obvious. the 5 would be if it is a 5, if it's and S then who knows what it means... whats with the 9/g if it's a g what the hell does that mean. if its a 9 why is it backwards.
  18. 119:25:00 wow... what a load. So the flashing message is now 5/S, E3, and backward 9/g) this is retarded
  19. I think he means helo... with an 'E'
  20. it's all a way to get you to buy more stuff. the don't give you landing gear so you're forced to buy a Yamato stand, then they don't give you a pilot so you're forced to buy a VF-1D that you can steal the hikaru figure from in order to use in this.
  21. nope, F-18. the flaps/ailerons are too big for an F-16 and the sweep of the wing is much closer to that of the 18. also the fin thing coming out of it's back/shoulders is closer to an F-18's tail than anything else. then theres the cockpit wich is much closer to an F-18's than an F-16. but then again there's a lot of don't give a F**K if it's accurate going on with the details that makes it really hard to say it's even a real world plane at all.
  22. I'm going to back him up on this one, you were wrong WELL after correct information had been posted. sorry.
  23. Basra rocks so hard he defies physics.
  24. the Original Andromeda Strain movie was amazing, and it followed the book really well (which was also amazing). the Mini-series on the other hand... well comparing it to the book is like comparing the Jurassic park sequals to the original Crichton novel. basically they took the took the original movie and threw in a lot of moronic action sequences, a pointless subplot about some reporter guy or something, and oh yeah yeah... it was total CRAP
