The box art and variety of the old kits are really the only major draw to them. I personally think the ones from Imai molds, wether that’s the og release or Bandai rereleases to be the better of the classics. But with those, there’s a lot more work to be done. Seam lines, mismatched parts and the necessity for paint. It can really be a long laborious project. The new kits on the other hand will have more durability, articulation and less of a need for seam filling and have a much more precise fitting. I’ve snapped up two yf-19 kits from Bandai and those are pretty super easy with a lot of color separation, but still have seam issues. The upcoming vf-1j from max factory might be the best looking battroid only kit in plastic and looks like it will be pretty simple. Hopefully they put out more kits, because that one looks like a real winner. And the Hasegawa Regult series has been pretty great as far as looks, but will need a little seam work as well, but have some great innovations in the way they did the knee joints. I’ve built a few regult kits from several companies in the past, but the new ones from hasegawa have made it to where I’d never bother with the old imai or Arii kits ever again. as far as transforming kits, I’ve never liked transforming models. I’ll take a partsforming kit or non transforming kit any day and leave the transforming to the toys In short, I’d say the old kits make better collectors items since the packaging was so beautiful back in the day, while I’d buy a modern kit for the build unless it’s of a subject that the other companies haven’t done. Although I’m keeping up hope for more enemy mecha from hasegawa. I kinda forgot to mention tomy tech, but those great little kits are very hard to come by these days, but prepainted parts and articulated joints along with those little decal sets made the worth the price. Those were tiny masterpieces

That stark jegan looks great. it’s back up on preorder at the US store. I’m still hoping the do the non unicorn version sometime as an mg kit. I skipped the standard mg, but did get one of the mg d types and really like that one a lot

So he’s blonde in this version. Kind of an odd choice

Back in the 80’s and early 90’s they had that great mix of trash and treasure. Now it’s just trash more than anything unfortunately. But I remember the good old days of finding so much odd stuff that you weren’t sure what to spend the cash on.

A vampire green lantern sounds tough in concept, but if you just drink a lot of holy water before battle and urinate on him, then he’s toast since he’s weaknesses includes the color yellow and the blessing on top of that takes care of everything.

For me it was more like, someone knew a kid that got a copy from their dad that went to a swap meet booth run by a guy who was stationed overseas that knew a guy that did a bootleg. Who knows what gen it was at that point?

While working on the new kit of that power armor, the first mages of that build would come up regularly while I was searching for references. The guy does amazing work -
I never saw the in the U.S. when they were dubbed. Maybe it was just for a vhs release. But since they didn’t finish the series dubbing I only watched the subtitles version. In fact the first time I saw the show it was a bad subtitle version, so this was definitely an upgrade. I wouldn’t mind if they did a decent dub since I’d rather watch than read especially since the animation looks great for the most part.

It’s definitely worth it. out of the list provided, I’d put Macross at the top followed by Mospeada then Orguss and after that southern cross. Although Mospeada isn’t technically a super dimension show, it does have a triple changing robot and I only slightly put it ahead of Orguss.

Disney+ TV Series, movies, animation,specials

The originals and a lot of movies are still free without commercials. Although I do recommend Sprung on freevie. -
The action figures should slide through the windows. The real one didn’t have working doors, but maybe that’s how they’re getting away with not having a license for the toy

I’d be impressed if it was from a kid in high school, but not from a supposedly professional artist

I don’t miss that at all, but I do miss the days when everything was just on Netflix. I get the feeling Disney is hurting financially all around and may realize that streaming may be more costly than licensing to other services -

I’d been thinking about canceling, and maybe this is a sign. Their original content kinda sucks lately and they seem to be making them available on Hulu anyway. -

I would have thought the Donner party to be much thinner in build -

I still think that Sabbath was one of the most experimental bands. It’s like they had a basic idea of what they should sound like and then threw some oddball ideas and awkward accidents into every album of the 70’s. The 80’s on were still good even without Ozzy, but less experimental. In those 70’s albums they kinda just didn’t care and oddly most of the time things worked. Every time I listened to one of those albums for the first time, I didn’t know if the next song would be heavy or a ballad or a groovy tune or a blues masterpiece or even if the song would be the same by the end

Marvel Studios TV Shows and Animation on Disney+
Big s replied to sh9000's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I was hoping they would start out a bit smaller with the Fantastic Four. Hopefully they don’t just kill the big bad in one movie. And if they have Dr. Doom, I would prefer having a more recurring bad guy a bit more in the shadows. But my biggest hope is that they don’t screw this one up. This would be the third big movie version of the group and they deserve a great movie, but current Disney hasn’t been able to get things right lately.- 1511 replies
