  1. I saw vf-4g for 70k yen somewhere.
  2. I need some good recommendations in terms of pricing. My benchmark prices are unrealistically from YJA and Mandarake. I am currently in Tokyo for a week and have gone to the following: Yodobashi Bic Camera Akiba Radio Kaikan VOLKS hobby Shop AKIBA Liberty (all) MANDARAKE akiba and osaka namba Planning to go to Shibuya, Nakano and Ueno.
  3. Most Japanese stores are selling it for 15000 + tax. A couple of department stores still have VF19 Adv for 23000 before tax. Most retailers are more expensive than Yahoo Japan a Auction. Mandarake is considered to be the next benchmark price. I saw a used yf29 Alto with super missing the stand at Liberty for 21k yen. But the stand could be found at another Liberty store for 1000. Hobby Off has a 16000 yen used 1/60 v2 VF1S Roy with Strike but has broken left shoulder parts. Not visible cosmetically though. I managed to get a used Metal Build OO Raiser for 25k yen tax inclusive. I think that is the only thing I will buy as I v own most of the other things already. Alto vf25 super parts is getting cheaper as renewal alto is getting harder and harder to find.
  4. This guy is as cheap as chip in Japan. I saw it at Bic Camera ikebukuro for 13800 yen.
  5. Well, recoloured VFs for non main characters don't sell well. e.g. VF-171EX Maruyama, YF-29B Percival, RVF-171 Luca. YF-29 Isamu(Macross 30).
  6. So Shin's VF-0A is leaning towards a white grey. The cannon fodder version will be the closest modern VF toy we have to an actual combat low visibility scheme.
  7. I don't like the skinny look either, but I like the VF-25 after donning the super/armor packs. The Evolution Toy sculpt doesn't look that good. But then, it is another 2D to 3D transformation attempt.
  8. Cartoony colour scheme. It is going to be 17cm tiny though.
  9. YES YES. Okay I may skip Shins and opt for the mass production colors. Maybe will get two. Two sets of armor for me for sure. It doesn't fit onto the VF-0D though.

Looks like nothing announced in this month's magazines. No reissues either.
  11. The Tacit Ronin was the first one to use blades and its effectiveness was also seen in the Gipsy Danger and Striker Eureka.
  12. I am still waiting for mine. I think they are awaiting for stock from suppliers, which should be plenty as it is still 10% off at Amazon JP.
  13. Smart move with adding brand new bonus footage, just like they did with 08th MS Team. This time it is just a picture drama though. They used this chance to add more obscure MS, such as Dom Funf(space), antenna Gerbera, and beam weapon GP02.
  14. They just need Jazz now. Has anyone been collecting through the knock off route? They only have all the variations of Prowl, Lambor and Wheeljack. Bumblebee still needs to be legit. i heard that the knock off Masterpiece MP-10 red Optimus with no trailer is superior to Takara's, except for the gappy forearms. The colour variations are better in all respects. I was thinking of getting Ultra Magnus(with trailer) as I like the price, weight (950g) and size(as tall as SOC Gaogaigar), but I was afraid of the arm hinge breaking. Definitely the largest Japanese high end collectable of transformers.
  15. Hey folks. A a long time Japanese mecha fan, I have pretty much finished collecting Gundam and Macross toys so I got bored and tried getting into Transformers(Third Party + Masterpiece). However, I settled on Pacific Rim instead. I watched the film back in 2013 and was not aware how great the NECA toys were. I am aware of market leader designer quality toys such as Hot Toys(30cm heroes), ThreeA/Zero(45cm mechs) and Sideshow Collectables(statues). NECA appears to be a budget version of large scale western sci-fi characters. Certainly, their Marvel ones look inferior to the Hot Toys counterpart. But NECA at the moment is the main licensed maker of Pacific Rim toys, hence not many competitors out there. I was actually eager to wait for a Kaiyodo Revoltech Jaeger to be in the works before I started buying. They do have those capusle sized figures though. I got into the 18 inch Jaegers as I was looking for a budget, fully painted, 18 inch, colossal sized toy. I got the Cherno Alpha and Striker Eureka. I am very fond of 18 inch figures(mainly mecha) and might get Halo Master Chief as well. I've been upgrading from Robot Damashii, then to Bandai Chogokin/Macross, and now this. This is certainly an upgrade in terms of size, but not in terms of price, so it is a win win situation. Not getting 18 inch Gipsy Danger yet as the 7 inch V 2.0 may pave way for an 18 inch 2.0. Meanwhile, I am pretty sure that more figures will come out leading up to the second film in 2017. Crimson Typhoon and Coyote Tango could do an 18 inch as they made movie appearances. I am pretty certain that we will get a Revoltech Gipsy Danger after all the Star Wars stuff is over. Another thing I've noticed is that Japanese toys tend to be no more than 18-25cm for mecha, due to their residential constraints. ThreeZero is a Hong Kong company and takes the Japanese engineering approach to create ultra high detail of both American sci-fi and some Japanese mecha into American size (30-50cm). I've always liked Pacific Rim more than Bayformers as the Hollywood mecha franchise. Bayformer licenses are everywhere. Maybe Pacific Rim will become more mainstream after the second movie is released.

Wow, even with 25% off, it is still way more expensive than the superior Bandai version. http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=FIGURE-012690&page=top Imported American toys in Japan are overpriced.
  17. More efficient than me. When I caught up, I bought all the VF-25s in one go. I suggest getting the VF-171EX Maruyama. It is currently priced below 19 000 yen.
  18. Need some help. I have a Titan Class Metroplex and I need some legends figures to fit inside. I was wondering whether deluxe class(Superion or Defensor) vehicles would fit inside as well? I am planning to get Six Sigma Sixgun to arm it up as well.
  19. Not sure if this is the right thread, but there have been reports of the Sentinel Dancouga having QC issues, mainly with the arm joint. So does that mean the price will tank to 30k yen? I have a gut feeling it will be 35% off+ in the bargain section eventually.
  20. Four out of six of the main cast are British. Looking forward to it. The age of Star Wars returns. That 26 inch TIE Fighters looks to be a good alternative to Hot Toys' 1/6 scale, but as a toy the details and proportions are still massively inferior to Bandai's 1/72 model kit.
  21. The traditional GFFMCs only have diecast in the legs and biceps. RX-78-02 Origin has the same diecast allocation as Metal Builds. It is a pretty big deal to have an almost diecast frame as most "Chogokin" products tend to have 15-30% diecast at most. The Super Robot ones from Soul of Chogokin tend to have 35%+. Meanwhile, Hello Kitty robot is 80%+ diecast. I am only starting to get onto the GFFMC/Metal Build train. I have all four Unicorns, Gundam Origin and both Psycho Gundams. For Metal Builds, I have the cheap Exia Repair and Amatsu, with Strike Freedom on order. The original designer supervised ones(Ebikawa for Exia etc and Beecraft for Astray) are praised for their accuracy to the original design. On the other hand, the Shigeta(SEED art director) supervised ones are highly stylised, to the extent of garage kits. The Freedom Gundam was not a big deal, but still more stylised than the MGs and Robot Damashiis supervised for Shigeta. Both the Destiny and Strike Freedom are super creative.
  22. How are the Metroplex citizen figures? Are they so small that I would lose them, like those Gundam ones from Megahouse warships? I would also like to know if a to scale combined devastator comes with the set.
