  1. Tamashii Nation 2015 exclusive on 30th October 2015. Anyone interested? Yahoo Auction Japan is already listing it for 26,000 yen, a substantial mark up. I think scalpers will be camping outside before open and the Metal Build figures will be gone within the first hour. Meanwhile, the auction price of Strike Freedom has dropped down to 31k. I think it may fare similar to the Astray Gold Frame in terms of production numbers.
  2. Well if it is multiple faction VF competition or conflict, then they are trying to go with nation specific fighters like real life fighter planes and Muv Luv. But then the numbering system would be stuffed up. Previously we've had VF-0 vs SV-51(F-15 vs Su-27), YF-19 vs YF-22 (RL YF-22 vs YF-23), and then a brief rivalry between VF-25/29 and VF-27, and VF-25 vs VF-171EX.

Wow, I see Battletech. Did Battletech ever use the same scale as the source material?

So there is only one Dougram unit and everything else is from Macross. The VF-1s look like ground units.
  5. Metal Build Red Frame to be web exclusive as it said "reservation date pending". Phenex is regular retail. I must say the choice of gold decals is poor for the Heine colour, it blends in too much. Due to the lack of contrast with the orange and red, it really does look like an "event random color exclusive", rather than a separate legitimate in universe color variation. But then again, TM Revolution colors was really forced on anyway.

Middle Ages lance fournies. I am surprised that there are no missile launchers included with the Regult. A recon type would need to be a web exclusive.

It has to be the most cramped cockpit ever. Clone soldiers mass produced for war have no well being at all. I think they only have enough room to move their fingers, and perhaps their lower forearm.
  8. Any Paypal dispute with a Japanese online retailer are likely to lead to account termination.
  9. I preordered Kylo Ren. What should I expect as it is my first Hot Toys figure?
  10. Lots of stock of Gunbuster. Most people say it is identical to the original except for the colour. I cancelled mine as I am starting to collect Star Wars and I have the SRC version already.

Grey resembles more of the Takatoku releases. It should be less prone to oxidising.
  12. Do we have a separate thread for Star Wars Rebels? I am currently catching up with Clone Wars at Season 2. Looks like we'll be getting a new Star Wars film every year which means more merchandise. Rogue One may see the reissue of many episode 4 era merchandise. Tantive IV Bandai model kit please.
  13. Got to get over Star Wars first, then Macross Delta, Yamato sequel, Legend of Galactic Heroes remake, and then back to Star Wars again.
  14. The 2010 60cm Hasbro AT-AT is 1/32 scale. Too bad there aren't any 1/48(45cm/18 inch) ones. At the moment, my Episode 1-3 period toys are all Sideshow 1/6 scale. Then my Episode 4-6 period ones are just Bandai 1/48 scale model kits. Lastly, my episode 7 toys begin with the 1/12 scale TIE fighter. Hopefully they will release elite trooper + speeder, and trooper commander on walker in Black Series 1/12 scale (6 inch). It was odd that they released a 12 inch FIrst Order trooper on the walker and not a 6 inch.
  15. This is odd. I mean obviously the fan base in Asia would be booming due to the movie reboot, but then the majority of the fans are from the western world and Bandai is really missing out on the primary Star Wars target market. I know that there is a least a little section for Star Wars merchandise in every toy store and department store when I was in Japan. There were a fair few Black Series being sold while the Star Wars figuarts/SIC have long been sold out. Revoltechs weren't selling too well.
  16. Wow they really are gone in HLJ. Too bad I ordered my 1/48s before the discount. It appears that HLJ will stock them at a minimum in the future for their Japanese market since most of their customers are overseas. Hence with the ban, they should off load as many they could since their customer base for the kits will be gone.

Matt Alt looks young as hell for a white guy his age. Japanese look super young, even in their early 40s due to genes and diet. I think Matt Alt's Japanese diet since living there must have helped.
  18. HLJ running out of stock. Hopefully the 1/48 X Wing backorder will go ahead. It is currently listed as discontinued. Went with the 1/48 AT-ST and Snowspeeder. 1/72 folks could wait for the 30cm tall AT-AT moving edition.
  19. Oh, even Figuarts will soon banned. I tend to prefer Hot Toys over Bandai anyway.
  20. HLJ still hasn't applied the restriction yet. Try mass ordering from them. I ordered the 1/48 X Wing just to symbolise the superiority and rarity of the entire line.
  21. Revell's kits are nothing compared to Bandai's. http://www.sirstevesguide.com/2015/09/04/fun-lights-sound-vehicle-models-for-star-wars-the-force-awakens-new-from-revell/ Their X Wing's proportions is completely off.
  22. I thought it was too good to be true to get Bandai level kits of western characters. When they first released their X Wing and TIE Fighter, I knew that they would wipe the floor with Revell and AMT. Now it seems like they want to restrict it to the Japanese market so that the international market remains unaffected. Well, there is always ebay and under the table deals. I would laugh if the Japan customs scan for outbound Bandai Star War kits as strict as they would for drugs.I would never have thought that smuggling Bandai kits would become a new trade.
  23. Did the western model brands negotiate with Bandai? Could it have been the licensor's decision as well? Maybe Lucasfilm/Disney thought that Bandai may dominate and don't want them to kill off the Western brands so that they could continue to reap more license fees off multiple companies. Similar thing with Bluefin not being allowed to bring American character Figuarts to the US.
  24. 750cm/12 = 62cm high wings. So it is right. I am just hoping that it is accurately proportioned to the film model. The 3.75 inch toy scale one already has a squeezed look to reduce the height of the wings. That FX X Wing was for 3.75 inch figures so it needs to be 1/20 scale in order to be correct, otherwise, it will just be like the AT-AT, AT-TE and MTT. This site has a history of X Wings. http://4lomkuss.com/history-of-red-squadrons-x-wing-releases/ A 1/12 X Wing would need to be 1 metre long and wide, so it would be impossible to release Poe's X Wing. But then they might still attempt at their first 1m long toy depending on the sales. Speaking of scale, I was thinking whether those Galoob Micro Machines mini figures and vehicle sets were to scale as my only Star Wars toy back in the 90s was the AT-ST battle pack. It turns out that they weren't to scale as it could only fit one driver. Oh well, it appears that the giant TIE Fighter will be the only to scale action figure and vehicle set. The next thing I will buy might be those Bandai kits as they have the most accurate sculpt, namely the 1/48 X-Wing and AT-ST.
  25. I ordered the Black Series 6 inch scale First Order TIE Fighter. I think this will be a one-off vehicle release as most vehicles aren't feasible to be made in 1/12 scale. At least, it is properly to scale unlike the toy gimmick scaled vehicles for 3.75 inch figures. The other 1/12 scale vehicle I've seen ever is the Hot Toys Bat. Threezero had 1/12 scale mechs from Titanfall and the Fullmetal Ghost. Maybe we'll see small scale <5 metre tall walkers made into 6 inch scale. The size limit for any toy is probably 60cm in height. Hong Kong sets it at 45-50cm(Threezero) as a premium collectable scale, while Japan has a ceiling of 30cm, excluding those large size sofubis. I personally own two Threezero 45cm figures and one Neca Pacific Rim 18 inch.
