I'm gonna have to disagree with Graham and say that the Toynami Legioss is a good design with a crappy execution. With better QC and a better choice of materials, I think it would be damn near perfect. Maybe with tighter tolerances at the factory the nose wouldn't bow up. As bad as the QC is, I still think it's a great looking toy before it falls apart.

Yeah, I mean good QC. I suspect Aoshima wasn't "in charge" of the QC on their Legioss in the same way as on their Tread. But if my suspicion is right, it all makes sense. Then again, things rarely make sense.

AWESOME. Panel lining really takes those toys over the top. Interesting. Now if only they would make a Legioss & Tread set with an Aoshima QC Legioss.

Bingo. It's not about nerds being whiny or the cost of molds. It's about creating a toy that is 99% perfect, and ruining it by making a really dumb decision. I still love the v2 1/60 1A, 1J, and 1S, but the 1D is going to suck because of the decision to make the fuselage slide up in battroid mode. If anyone wants to fly of the handle because I said that, go right ahead.

A couple things. 1) As always, the ones calmly lamenting flaws are overshadowed by the insane rantings of the meta-complainers. 2) Yamato's new VF-1D is using a new fuselage mold.

They haven't. The slide-up nose cone is a complete fiasco, because it makes battroid look wrong, and it makes a correct VF-1D impossible.

Nope. Actually, if you think about it, making the fuselage stick up so high in battroid makes it much harder to do a VF-1D correctly.

I don't think of that as a selling point as much as a work-around made necessary by making the Tread so darn small. Or do the arms go together in the line art?

I think more of us had a problem with how obnoxious you were being about it. Since some reputable stores had preorders for around $80, some of us were willing to believe that maybe the Beta would be all plastic, or perhaps Toynami made a deal with Aoshima that would diffuse the tooling or manufacturing costs. I pre-ordered because it was chance to get it for $80, even though I doubted it would really happen. It would be stupid to not take a bet where you can only win or break even. I was personally annoyed that, instead of joining with us in a chance to geta good deal, you decided to mock us, and the fact that you contaced the store just proves that you have nothing better to do 'bot-block us.

Yeah, but that's a total garbage and untrue excuse. Lots of toys have tiny hinges. Look at the Toynami 1/100 -- it didn't have parts-forming tail fins. It had hinges. What's really stupid is the idea that the tail fins on the VF-25 have to be parts-formed because the hinges would be too small, when the base of the tail fins are these big-ass tubes that could have a circular hinge so easily built in!

I don't think you understand the implications of being designed in CAD. It means there isn't any anime magic in terms of proportions changing to make transformation possible.

I prefer "Perfect Transformation Loverist". I'm gonna have to agree with you. Although the 1/100 does look better than the 1/60 in my opinion. But it's still a lame-ass parts former. How many parts are there? 12? I could have done it in two: FIGHTER AND BATTROID. Okay, 3 with Gerwalk. Wow, such a pessimist. This valk was designed with CAD. If any valk could be done in 1/100 with PT, it's this one.

I found out about the Fire Bomber concert that happened last summer (I think?) after it happened. I probably would have booked a trip to Japan for that show if I had known about it early enough to get tickets. It's geeky, but I'm sorry, that music rocks. Plus, it's an excuse to go to Japan again.

I've recently found that I really like the Killer's "When you were young". I guess I'm a couple years behind. I checked out some other songs of theirs on Youtube but they weren't as good. "Human" was okay though.
