  1. Not a fan of the original and not really interested in this new show, but that animation in the trailer was great! They really captured the old, simplistic style of cartoon shading/highlighting in the 3D mechanical animation. That is impressive and definitely looked good.
  2. Oh trust me, I know exactly how that feels
  3. I'm puzzled by that as well. I've seen more merchandise for anime films/series that were far less successful (both commercially and critically) than the first GitS film. And it seemed to spawn the larger franchise. I'm hoping that the motivation of most of the toy manufacturers is to produce product for the "current/recent" GitS films/series and then produce the older stuff later. I live in hope
  4. Thanks you so much for the big renders! Something to enjoy now and large enough to enjoy in the future. Much appreciated.
  5. Same. The mecha designs are a lot of fun and the character designs are just amazing. Just from a visual perspective, it would be incredible to see that material animated.
  6. I've only recently got back into purchasing some collectibles (just a few and mostly the smaller, far cheaper stuff), but in researching for figures to buy I was really shocked the Oshii GitS stuff is really minimal. Given how many older anime series and films (like Macross!) have plenty of models, figures and statues, I was surprised. For such a small figure, the styling and articulation actually look pretty damned good. I remember when this came out, I gave serious thought to getting one. Still a realy impressive looking product.
  7. I've pre-ordered the Arise figure, but I really hope your read on GitS figures comes true. I would kill for a good articulated figure of the original GitS movie Motoko. WIth the cream/grey colored armor and a good assortment of the movie-style guns she used. That's the product I want to see the most. Some Batou love would be really nice too.
  8. Thanks dude! I've updated the Picket entries on the M3 (both SDF Macross and DYRL) just to be a little more specific about those features. I also noted that the ship obviously contains an unknown number of battle pods, since it has three launchers for them I was wondering when you were going to weigh in on the Macross II continuity thing, given you are our expert in all things MII. I agree that it seems inspite of the "pliable continuity" applied to each installment, Macross II continues to be set apart, even in the Macross Chronicle. Which is not surprising when you think about it; at AD 2067 now with Macross Delta, it may only be two or three more Macross TV shows before the official continuity is caught up to the MII timeline and I don't think anyone is honestly expecting MII-style tech or mecha to suddenly take over the official universe
  9. Just finished the last episode of Daredevil Season 2 late last night. This second season is even better than the first! Well done, Daredevil team!
  10. I can't help translate, but I did look through all my books for a better version of this particular grouping of line art. Sadly, the picture from Macross Perfect Memory is the only one I could find. Don't know if this helps or not, but here's the best scan I could make of the image. I also included a light contrast version of each piece of text.
  11. Welcome back! So good to hear you're still around! I'm very much looking forward to you new work. As a colorist, I think I can guess what you're doing for this new image. It looks very promising. Your last Gundam EX-S was great. BTW, I completed the latest update to my website several months ago and your work was featured. Thanks again for your help!
  12. I don't have any particular objections to the way women were written in Daredevil, although I do think to date it has lacked any compelling female characters. But i will say I hope they do Elektra justice and steer FAR away from nearly everything Frank Miller did with the character in the comics. I've no worries that will ever be a concern.
  13. Some truly fantastic artwork. I like the TIE in landed configuration and that topknot Luke picture sure is interesting. The graphic design of Han in the trenchcoat is amazing (I like the beard). I might have to own this
  14. In the last update to my website, I posted some high resolution scans I made of the "Remember Me" Data Book and Operation Manual. They are interesting books with some very good artwork inside.
  15. Yeah, that would have been me that posted that These new 1/100 scale mortar headds look incredible. They certainly do the designs justice. That KOG looks astounding. Eventually I'd really like to have some kind of FSS toy. I wanted that damned WAVE Last Junchoon ODK they were making, but then they cancelled it. Quite possibly could have been one of my favorite toys ever. Funny a FSS topic should come up again, I'm just in the midst of obtaining a bunch of art books from the franchise. Long overdue. FSS books are probably the art books I look at the most. The artistry and aesthetics are more rewarding than almost any other mecha designs I've seen.
  16. LOL! I like it. The cover for the DYRL blu-ray V2 is really great. I'm going to scan it an make some wallpaper.
  17. Now THAT is how you do Spider-Man! Look, attitude, intro. Perfect. Oh yeah, and a Captain America movie that looks like it could be better than The Winter Soldier...who knew that was even possible? Loving it!
  18. Yeah, I didn't want to be critical of it, Especially because I don't know what else to have in the abdomen area. I like the arm/wing markings as you've done them. They feel more naturalistic. As f they are symbolic of the valkyrie design without being too literal Although to be honest, the more thought I give to this the more I think it might not be an issue. We as Macross fans will see the abdomen design, but how will non-fans interpret it? ALmost certainly not like anything we think. Nothing wrong with "Intakes", if that's your thing. But I think "Beware of Blast" works for everyone
  19. Very nice work. I think the front upper body is a little too literal for a geek-wear product that I'd buy, but I like the idea. Good use of colors and details. I would have been curious to see it realized
  20. Nice to see these at last. Images are a little small so some of the details are hard to make out, but I love what I see thus far. I actually really like the Battroid mode picture of the VF-171 Nightmare Plus. It's nice to see an good unmodified a-stance of the Battroid. As for the VF-31, I like the head unit on that yellow EW variant. All the other variants have thicker arms than the blue unit in Battroid mode; not just the forearms, but also the biceps and elbows. This is still early release artwork, so there may have been a lot of adjustments to the design as time went on.
  21. Gotta hand it to 'em, these Yamato 2199 books are just amazing!
