    You guys must have seen a different HHGTTG then me. The one I saw was loud but stupid, and every deviation from the source was badly done. It's sad when a 20+ year old BBC miniseries was better then a modern movie.

    It is out in 2D as well, looks good that way. I don't remember any "coming at ya!" moments, must have been there. Other films had tons of them (Puss in Boots comes to mind), so either I was too busy noticing the leather or this movie had less of them.

    Saw this yesterday (2D version). Decent film for an action flick, best one I've seen in the past 12 months. The plot holds up well (no plot holes screaming at me, unlike the last Batman movie), action from start to finish (which usually bothers me, but not in this case), and Kate Beckinsale in leather for the whole film, what more can anyone ask? It was a popcorn action flick, but it was a fun ride. The young guys in theater also loved it, but they thought it was too short. (I didn't ask them, but they were very loudly proclaiming it was great during the obligatory after movie potty break)

    Whoops, one weightlifting film is pretty much the same as any other to me... At least it's not "Over the Top"!

    Hey! They forgot AT LEAST one scream from "Pumping Iron" (I'm sure there are more, but who actually wants to watch the whole thing to find out?) Start watching this clip at the 4 minute mark.

    Not really, the producers admit this was done, no use spending 10 minutes an episode learning the language du jour. Universe did that, look where it got that show. Same thing goes for the transporter on Star Trek, although a shuttle landing sequence was not really needed each episode - but showing the shuttle on the ground is a pain.

    Terra Nova supposedly had a 4 million per episode budget, although it made a profit it is not yet being renewed (profit and ENOUGH profit per dollar spent not being the same thing). The Star Wars show would be on a cable channel rather then a network channel as well - but it is SW so it would have a built in audience to start though. Still a very big gamble.

    I like the design difference between the raptors and the vipers. Vipers are fighter craft designed for dogfighting (despite the attempt to show them using somewhat realistic physics). Raptors are support craft designed to do scouting and other general duty. Think of the difference in look between an F15 and a C-130, near perfect match. (or an F15 and one of our current radar planes with the big radar dish on the top)

    Since there is no apathy that I can see, the answer would have to be no. At least not in books, TV, or Movies, I don't keep any track of comics if that is what you are referring to.

    Max was a take charge kind of guy right from the get-go, Gamlin is as pathetic as you can get in that regard...

    OK - just think how much worse it would be if he wrote the thing... Lucas is the only director, writer, producer (well, maybe not producer) that gets worse the more he does.

    I'm watching Full Metal Panic, does that count as Modern enough? Almost gave up after episode 2 since it seemed like it would slant far too much into High School Hijinks territory, glad I didn't after seeing episodes 3 and 4. I also picked up the first Vampire Hunter D Manga book thing (don't know what to call them) but have not read it yet.

    I don't see it happening anytime soon either. 5 mil an episode? Yow...

    I'm fairly certain they will have some kind of zinger planned for the end of the show. If it gets that far of course.

    No word yet, but SyFy usually owns up to a show getting canned, so it is probably coming along. Once it comes out and doesn't do well after 10 episodes it will get the chop though... Maybe it will last longer if they call it "Ghost Hunters: Galactica"

    No, which is why I want it here. As I said, I don't follow the RT site (don't even go there), if there was a thread here about REAL scoops then I would not feel the urge to stop in this thread, and since the scoop thread would not have a new post more then twice a year it is a win win for me.
