If they could make the story a little more coherent it would be great. The changes made in order to get a second season/more episodes make it lurch along a bit at some spots. New animation, especially for Max and Millia's knife fight scene would be nice as well. (not to mention all those animation errors for Misa)

There is nothing to stop them from producing an english language version - they just can't sell it in the US, but that is no problem for an electronic format that US customers could just happen to access.

Keith - that is really stretching things... Yamato is good for a reboot, since everything after the first two series is pretty much a letdown. A fresh start would do it some good.

I plan to watch this when it comes out on DVD, the ad for it almost had me thinking it was a stupid comedy about teens with TK powers, then it shows that "Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely". Looks interesting.

What does it matter? Neither is actually more accurate then the other.

It would be nice if they would outsource an english version. The let someone else do the english, offer it for sale, and the ones who did the translation get a cut of the sale of the english version (english version only). A number of fan translation groups would probably go for that - it beats getting nothing for the work...

Transformers: Age of Extinction - in theaters June 27, 2014
Dynaman replied to taksraven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
It's garbage, you know what they say "Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result is insanity". The first was garbage, I heard the second was worse so I did not see it, then I heard the third was as good as the first so I passed on that too... Rifftraxing them though, that might be worth a look- 950 replies

Omegablue, you have to understand, for Keith there is no such thing as a good dub, even when there is.
-
The voices were not the problem(1), it was the atrocious dialog, did Lucas write that script? Worst of the lot was when one character was trying to explain the physicic (sp?) phenomemon (sp? again.) The poor actor/actress even managing to say the lines deserves a medal. If I remember correctly Kaneda was voiced by the guy that did Max in Robotech (or it sounded a lot like him) (1) - Just remembered, the Colonel's voice was totally wrong.

I could see that... Sorry folks but the very idea is repulsive. This movie only proves that we are a morally bankrupt society.

You should make that anything BUT the Jersey. I smell stink bomb coming from this movie.

Worst Science Fiction Film of All Time
Dynaman replied to JELEINEN's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Reminds me of "Monster a Go Go". The fighting scene was nearly pitch black so you only caught an occasional glimpse of what was going on. Then at one point the phone rings, the sound effect was a guy offstage saying "ring ring". MST3K did a number on that movie. -
I was not around for this thread initially. The best dubs I've seen lately (although many others are out there) are the Disney dubs under the direction of Brad Bird. He obviously loves the original Miyazaki films and has the budget to bring in top talent most of the time. Two standouts for me are the "Howl's Moving Castle" (Billy Crystal sticks out, but they all did well) and Nausica (Patrik Stewart, but everyone did great). Worst - Clash of the Bionoids or Star Blazers series 3. Honorable mention for best improvement goes to the second dub of Akira. I'd happily watch that version in English.

I don't see how it could get any more dormant. And the answer is yes and yes and yes. Dormant - yes Hyped as gangbuster - yes Luggage Tage - yes, once they get off the boat.

Are you kidding? The whole movie is one giant cliche from start to end. AND I WANT TO SEE IT RIGHT NOW! (Memo! Get out off my keyboard!)

I have tried to read other comics, and tried to guess what was being said in "Do You Remember Love" before seing a subbed version - and I found that what I THOUGHT was being said was TOTALLY off from what was actually being said. So I can honestly say that I can not follow the story without a translation. Yes the over-arching plot can be discerned but the devil (or the fun) is in the details.

I don't know if this should be under the remake category, but I just saw that Space : 1999 is getting a remake set 100 years later. I'm looking forward to this one, just like the original BSG, Space 1999 suffers from the time it was made (many of the plots are horrible!). The concept of the show and the model work was first class though. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/space-2099-television-remake-288601 Although most of the original plots were bad, and the acting wooden (especially Barbara Bain), there were a couple of standout episodes. First was the pilot, next was one where aliens were attacking with Earth Like ships (later shown to be just hallucinations), and the last was the alien tentacle creature - that episode creeped me out when I was a kid.

I have not played Uncharted but saw my kids playing it - both of them look like fun games, the kids certainly loved them.

Yours, mine, anyone who is no longer a child is safe - but just think of all the poor generations yet unborn who will ever more have this terrible looking movie linked with the game? I predict that future versions of the game will include video clips of the movie that play when hits are made. (actually, I predict a big bomb of a movie which sadly means it will be a blockbuster tentpole movie)

As much as I would like to bust on this movie, the trailer is most likely just using placeholder sound effects. Then again, making a movie on a silly board game - anything is possible.

Raises hand. (granted, I'm sorely disappointed most of the time. Some gems stick out however, the Howard Hughes movie and well, the Howard Hughes movie....)

No idea if "Tarzan the Ape Man" followed the books, but it was most certainly a decent movie. If you don't like that then there is always the Bo Derek version...

Angel's Paint Special Edit Presentation

I love the translation, kept the intent of the original song and I was singing the english part in my head. It most have taken some effort to match the english to the music so well.
