    8 years later... FINALLY!! Agree here. The same team in place does not guarantee a success. Case in-point, Incredibles 2. The major goof they made was to not make it a new story. It was basically the same plot from the first film, just switched between Helen and Bob with just more supers added. Not retreading a story line is the first thing to do when doing a sequel.

    The moment from Dr Strange was just an example of the same. And Gunn does do some good character moments, but it's just a preference of mine to have comedy separate from dramatic moments.

    A good dramatic story could be so much better than just a string of exposions and superfast action squences, just to use Bay's Transformers as a comparison. Don't get me wrong, I do like Gunn's films, the earlier GoTG movies especially. But that Superman trailer looks like it's going to have a dozen villlains, or enough flashbacks for a dozen movies. That being said, this could be a real good film. There are sequences that I really like, but some have me worried. Krypto bouncing all over a badly wounded Supes just for the LOLs is one of them. Cheapening a dramatic scene just for laughs could seriously hurt the tone of the film, and Gunn has done that before. The scene from GoTG, when Quill gets the others to help him defend Zandar and Rocket comes out with his a-holes line. Funny, yes, but it was a gag moment at the expense of an emotional scene when the team is finally pulling together. Different movie, but the same thing happened in the first Dr Strange. The moment he decides to stand and fight is really cool scene with him drawing on the cape and then looking into a mirror - and then the cape starts trying to caress his cheek. A dramatic moment cheapened by the gag. I hope he hasn't started leaning on it like a crutch - rather than growing past it.

    If they can find and hold on to the feel of the first BP movie - and not the second - then I might really like this one.

    It was between that and He-Boi! I know, right? Just go film around Vasquez Rocks and do a matte painting of the castle in the distance. Done!

    Saw it today, and really liked it. It was a fun ride with good characters, which was a good driver for most of it seeing as the villain came off... Despite that, I give this 7.5/10. Now bring on the Fantastic Four!

    Saw the first trailer today while in to see Thunderbolts* and it was thankfully the one without Krypto using a badly wounded Supes as a trampoline.

    My thoughts too. It's cheaper to film in the 'real world,' but that can also cheapen the plot far too much. There was another fantasy movie done quite a while ago, He-Bro(?), I think, or something like that anyway, where that made it just fall flat. When I think of He-Man, I think of another world and fantastic settings, not, 'oh look, another hero comes to Earth again...'

    (Cartman laugh instert) HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!🤣 About the sword, I know it is cartoon-like accurate, but I think the look of the big quillons is better in cartoon form rather than live-action. To me, it looks too cartoony... I know, I know... I think they would have been better as smaller devices with the blade a bit narrower at their juncture.

    Anyone else getting Thor-vibes? Super strong hero with mystical weapon (sword instead of hammer) comes to Earth and must regain his memories (powers)? He even has a run-in with a car too! Yeah, they really should have kept this on Eternia.

    Could do. I think it would be a 'smaller' story since events after RotK were winding down and settling, unless they were going to do something original.
