  1. I think I recall some discussion speculating that the self destruct was damaged from all the fighting in WoK, and by Scotty hot-wiring the whole ship for automation. Although, thinking about it, if you want to keep the ship from falling into enemy hands, destroying the bridge, and all its command hardware, is probably essential. In the end though, it was all about the visuals, such as the name and registry being destroyed before that first blast.
  2. The other ships in the RC pond had better watch out!
  3. Actually, the first big explosion comes from the bridge area, so you could just put a crater there.
  4. Yeah, I'd say that's a nice off white and weather!
  5. In any Wayne's World comparison, I am Garth... The only time Breetia will be envious... Also have that Zentran kit and was really disappointed in it. If the resin model of it wasn't so 'spensive I'd probably pop on it. On the other hand, here's a dio idea for the kit I have! Fantastic result! Now hit those Tomcats! (not really hit, you understand. gently. gently.)
  6. The Alien franchise has been beleaguered for a while, and retconning from what was started in the first movie in the way that Prometheus and Covenant went didn't help, even if it was done by Ridley. This being an entirely different story, I'd say go into it with fresh eyes. Ridley Scott has a great reputation and the story looks good. In fact, it reminds a bit of the Netflix movie, 'Mother,' only carried a little further.
  7. I started filling the gap in the hull in order to stretch it. Some plastic was glued inside as spacers and corrugated styrene, cut to a 14 inch is being bent around the curve. Once that's done, I'll start filling in the gaps with styrene. It'll look messy as all get out at first, but that's always the way before it starts looking better! Model on!
  8. Probably the best idea to have for that old build, and really something to have fun with. And there is something to be said about recapturing that grade 8 feeling again.
  9. Yes. Though in 2202 it is called the Dreadnought class. Yup! Whew! At first I thought you decided to put your recent Refit build out of your misery! Nice though! Get those girls some new life! You could go to Federation Models and buy new nacelles and after market parts to spruce them up.
  10. Do what I do, ignore any actor/actress when they are not in character, and you're (happily) wondering what everyone's problem is.
  11. Well, after a couple years, my UNCF Nautilus is back on the table. Had to do a little repair work as the stretch I was going to put into the bow that I've since decided not to do, but that part's finally all together again. A little clean up to do, but then I can do the stern stretch, fill out the lower scoop and put a landing deck on the back of the superstructure.
  12. Well, locked off from her powers so much that she didn't even know they existed, and then 'tutored' by a psycho lover who wanted to turn her into a weapon, and when she finally did run back to her family for help, she was locked away in the basement. When we consider that it all happened in the span of a few days, that's a lot of trauma to try and deal with all on her own. I'm not surprised she went into a rant, though she did it with powers that could destroy the world... I like her. She's my favorite character. I also think she's completed her 'redemption' arc. She needs to grow into her powers a little more certainly, but on the relationship side she's experienced both the bad and the good, and came away from it better. Plus, she appears to be fully seated back into the family, so I feel a retreading of her past, in any major depth other than as a side note, would be a waste. And yes, the Handler was deliciously wicked!
  13. Just finished this today, and I had fun all the way through. I might be in the minority, but the first half didn't feel slow at all! Like season one, the story lines and the actors playing the parts are just so engaging, that going off on little side trips down memory lane are fun rather than dragging. As for Vanya... Now I must wait for Season three...
  14. Yup, know that 'wandering eye' syndrome! Good looking Brownie! Those stores look nice under the wings!
  15. For just me though, that $30 value better include a Popcorn and Soda shipped to my door! That not being the case, I'll wait for the DVD, or a cheaper stream somewhere.
  16. I think it would have looked both cool and 'in-universe.' The ship they have just looks too 'un'Trekish... Whereas the Raven could be modified to make it look more sleek and Rios-ified for a hero-ship role.
  17. Really like that maintenance display, and that you've kept the parts in such a way to have it all as one when needed. It's looking really good from here! Like the subtle patterns on it. And as @David Hingtgen stated, the SDs always looked pretty white and clean.
  18. Love Coccon. And the sequel. RIP, good sir.
  19. It's surprising how many one can accrue over time - and still think one does not have enough... Don't fall over too fast though, as you've probably completed for more than I have in stock.
