It doesn't need to be a competition... That being said, the Hase photo does a good job making the heft look intimidating. I really like it. Same with the head laser. I do have to admit, despite my misgivings about the Plamax kit, it makes a very pretty, clean-looking Armored. Aaaaaalmost enough to make me get one...

What series is this from? I like the design & color scheme a lot.
-
Yeah, the first movie really wasn’t very good, even though it might be the best of the genre. The whole problem is this kid that they need to save that’s Diabetic and they’re trying to get him to a bunker that can only take a bare minimum of people. And then they have to get his insulin and only get enough for a few months, but they’ll have to be locked underground for a few years or maybe more. They’re basically trying to save their own kid that would die anyway and take space away for a different family. Not sure if the sequel ever solves the insulin issue

It looks so sexy, I didn’t realize it was a MR.

I don’t know…..and below is the Plamaxthe chest on the hasegawa is stupid big, the feet and hands ridiculously small , the hasegawa just looks way off in comparison to the Plamax. Plus the Plamax has the better articulation on top of all the looks. And the swimsuit beauty as a bonus cherry on top. It’s easily worth the extra money

I will watch this with great interest. For a piece that's going to take two years to complete I figure you might as well go big and voted for 1/12 scale.

I'm a 1/48 scale modeler and I love Hasegawa's VF-1s and YF-19s in that scale. Hasegawa's 1/72 scale Battroids were good, but the new Plamax molds, with their more anime style, look very appealing. I'm not entirely convinced by the fighter mode, though. Price is an important factor, and Hasegawa's 1/48 scale models are excellent options when you compare price, size, and detail.

I don't agree that the Hasegawa version is "garbage ". More articulation is nice , but I'm only really getting this for Minmei.
-
Looking great! Such a nice color scheme. Reminds me of that Blassty.
-
Yeah but a lot more articulation and ten times better looking totally makes it worth it. It’s like the comparison of hot garbage at a cheap price and a quality item for only a bit more

Love it. Appreciate the updates. 👍 My wife’s first car was a POS VW beetle. It also looked like it was attacked by some hell hounds. Hahahaha.

They're a disaster film sub-genre. However, GREENLAND was not bombastic. You're thinking of Michael Bay and Roland Emmerich's disaster films, lol. -
If you want to match that toyetic factory finish, you can't do without one! If you're going for the heavily-weathered look, however... ...a Dremel and some Q-tips may suffice. 😉 This bug has shiny chrome hubcaps, even on the spare tire. They've gotta go. Unfortunately, there's no sculpted detail underneath them... so I'll need to replace the hubs with 3D-printed VW rims. This is the look I'm going for. Now to start adding grime and rust to the body itself.

Super Inspirational Fortress 1!! Looks like it's stepping from the shadows, ala Capt America in Infinity war, to save the Earth!

I’m a “SDFM” or “TV only” guy, so, apart from Gerwalks & the orbital booster (!), they seem to have the plastic side of the equation well covered. Maybe a Battroid “Deculture” set would work. It’ll never happen, but a larger scale Plamax Battroid would be great, 1:48 or maybe even a fixed-pose 1:20 like Max Watanabe did for a promo.
-
Looks good. Twice the cost of the Hasegawa version. Ouch.

These extinction films do so very little for me. Too much bombast, too much stuff happening too quickly, overdramatically, and unrealistically. They're pure spectacle, and not in a good way in my eyes. So very Hollywood. 😏

So sometimes I go back and try watching some of my cartoon favorites from when I was a kid, usually ending up mildly entertained and more often than not let down just a bit. He Man was a bit of a let down while Dungeons And Dragonns was just as good as I remember. But got a bit of a day off due to weather and so I gave a show that I hadn’t really thought much about at try since it was on Amazon without the commercials and was actually really surprised by how good the first episode was compared to my memory of the show. Anyway the show I tried watching and expected to be disappointed by was ALF the animated series. Not the live action or Alf tales. This was an 80’s American cartoon, but dispite that, this was a very high quality for a goofy spin off of a live action sitcom. The humor is still a bit tame, but wasn’t expecting a hardcore thing since it was an 80’s kids show, but I did get some chuckles out of it. But the real treat here was the animation quality, it’s a weird sci fi style with pointlessly stupid silly mechanical designs, but that gets a pass since it’s a kids comedy show. But this is a DIC production that seems to have had a Japanese studio working with them and this first episode was actually really cool. Lots of crazy angles and odd action that almost reminds me of classic Dragon Ball. The story is flimsy, but forgivable for the same reasons as the designs. anyway, I actually hope this cartoon gets a remaster one day to fix the graininess of what they have available on Amazon and I will definitely check out more episodes to see if they hold up to the chaotic and surprisingly Awsomely silly action scenes of the first episode. And just super surprised because I don’t remember the show being anywhere near how fun this rewatch was.

That sucks, but at least you got the cash back. I have a feeling that you could find them from other places, or that they will just get reissued eventually
