  1. Past hour
  2. Yeah, just finished watching it on +. Not horrible, and actually enjoyed it. Actually did a good job of making an interesting, compelling villain. Definitely helps if you’ve watched Falcon and the Winter Soldier. . . just so you know the mains. But again, a solid outing.
  3. I tried to mount it, but nothing happened. Gave it a while, but neither errors nor blinking---just, nothing. So far "testdisk" seems to work well. It can directly read folders and files from the img. And copy them to other locations. Doesn't seem able to sort by date, so I'm just having to scroll and manually pick them.
  4. Today
  5. That’s only thirty something, so I’ll give you a runner up price of a 👍
  6. It deserved to go to the cinema. And I hope it is as Mary Shelley described it in the book.
  7. Can't you right-click the img file and select "mount"? That should open it in file explorer as if it were a drive, then you should be able to copy files from it to another actual drive.
  8. For a newbie, you'd rock at some of the local shows here in the upper East Coast! Indeed I am! I left some new comments on the GTC Legacy Thread. I have updates I'll be divulging and I'm trying to do more community outreach. Thanks for choosing us!
  9. You totally should! Thanks so much. I’m new to model building and figure these older, affordable kits will be the best route to bust my chops and learn. Nothing to it but to do it. 😊 *Just noticed your handle. Are you one of the WiseGuyHobbies, guys? I only bring it up since I bought that Super and many other kits from WGH off of EBAY. Always a good resource for these old kits.
  10. @Papa Rat You did such an incredible job on that kit! I've been apprehensive about giving one of those Arii Gerwalk kits a try but I think I might now!
  11. These were definitely my fault and most of my mistakes are easily avoidable but I still make them. I aim to ensure no stones are left unturned and that evidently comes with some hurdles. In order to reach me please email me at: wiseguyshobbiesllcsm@outlook.com That is the email I check constantly for business and I will try to be on here more often in order to answer questions. I'm debating starting a discord server to easily answer questions with more ease.
  12. I do too! I will explain: We have had some growing pains and some decisions were made when the website was created that didn't benefit us. I was only a regular staff member when this happened and since then I was promoted to Store Manager. I aim for efficiency and streamlining our processes and thus, the eBay has been updated and inventoried. The website needs to be updated and we've also started offering free shipping on select items as of the last two weeks.
  13. So---I have yet to find anyone agreeing with what to do with the actual .img file ddrescue creates. I do not want to clone the whole thing and put it on another drive, which is what most places seem to assume will be done. I want to "go in and grab certain files", assuming they're there. I have seen so many different programs/methods recommended. Anyone ever actually "grabbed the files out of a ddrescue-created img"? PS----this is purely a storage drive. It was never bootable. The fact that Windows "cares so much" about this drive, and refuses to boot if it's plugged in, and freezes if you glance at it, is what's so weird to me.
  14. Yesterday
  15. NM - I see that the SSD looks jacked which is a bummer. Just in case this happens to someone else - I wonder if the windows update jacked up the system's ability to see the SSD as bootable - it happened to my dad's computer and it required installing windows on a working drive, side-loading a driver for the SSD, then cloning windows from the working drive to the SSD. It was a missing driver issue in windows for us that one of the windows updates messed up either 22h2 or one of the h2's.
  16. Hello everyone! I have not checked the forums in quite awhile and a lot has happened. I see we had a few folks who were rightfully disgruntled with some errors made and I hope I can clear up some stuff and give you guys some positive updates regarding the business and things that are happening moving forward. I was only just now able to access my account, I feel terrible knowing now that I had people trying to reach out to me here.
  17. Said it got 99.95%. Now to see if I can actually get files out of the big image dump it made...
  18. The basic story of Macross Plus, when it was released 30 years ago, is that an artificial intelligence pop idol falls in love with a man, takes over an extremely dangerous military drone, which is defeated by a guy piloting a mind-controlled aircraft with highly advanced variable geometry. It sounds ridiculous but I feel we're not that far away from this scenario in real life. Artificial intelligence is advancing daily and AI pop stars already exist. China, and probably the USA, are working on variable geometry.
  19. Update on the Fugu Jetfire, my pair just arrived, and I think the only way I'd be happier is if I hadn't exerted the effort to try and strip/repaint a set of leg packs from the original release. I'm happy to report that the rumors of them leaving out the canopy cover were incorrect, and slipped neatly inside the packaging I also found a couple of surprises I didn't expect to get. (No fancy photography here.. maybe someday I'll make room for a proper photo booth.) Also, after the feedback they received from the first release, I'm just going to say they went even further beyond this time around. Not only did they remove the Macross logos (kites, skulls, and UN SPACY are all gone), but they added several new markings directly from the Jetfire art, including detailed prints on the fronts of his feet, a pair of warning labels on the underside of the fronts of the backpack boosters (amusingly, these are barely large enough to make out some lettering that says "UN SPACY" so I'm guessing they repurposed an existing tampo pattern), and the striping on his gunpod in red and white like the box art, rather than the chrome foil in the original stickers. Oddly, they left the small white arrow on the front of the leg packs (best not to try and remove this, or you'll damage the overall paint on the packs, as I found out), and they didn't change the red printing on the tails, so I might still repaint or strip one set to get a more classic stripe on one side. They didn't change the stock black stripes and red circles on the legs, but I know the original stickers for Jetfire had a much more convoluted paneling sticker for those surfaces. They also didn't touch the intake warnings, but I'm sure they would be easy to strip if someone wanted them gone, since there's nothing around them. Otherwise, I'm happy to say I found these tucked into the extra parts box, along with the transparent pack covers, and extra hands. I'm not familiar with what defines "quality" for repro transformers stickers, but these look very "okay." Silver and not chrome foil for one set, and what looks like dull paper for the pack markings, but I'm just happy they got included. I'm sure anyone who knows where to look could come up with some fancier vinyl and foil versions. As for the quality of the figure though, I can happily say the elbow issue I had was entirely resolved, and both sets of arms bend and pose easily, though one of mine has a rather sloppy bicep twist which should be easy enough to fix, but I'll probably just leave him in jet mode. The shoulder ball joints still were tight, and needed a little loosening, and the hands were a little tricky to get out, but I think the black wrist covers were a little oversized, and filing the edges helped. Still needed to file down the chest locking nubs. I also had to add a layer of tape to both swing wing pivots to get some stiffness, since they were very sloppy. I did see a little variability with tightness in the wing hardpoints, mostly with the missile clusters and box launchers being easy to spin on the hardpoints, but they didn't fall off. The reaction missiles fit more snugly, to the point you may want to mount the pylons bare and then add the missiles, to make them easier to twist into place so you don't wear down the nubs, and lead to the other missiles being able to fall off freely. The overall quality of the figure feels higher this time around, mostly owing to the better arms, but it's still not quite up to a standard Yamato/Arcadia release. There's still a little slop in the transformation, the main gear doors don't quite fit, and there's just little niggling things like the hardpoints being loose that might annoy you. Overall, I'd recommend this one even more highly than the original release, depending on whether you want it closer to Jetfire, or closer to a unique VF-1. I've got a pair of each release, and I don't regret it. What I might wind up doing with the fast packs I started to strip? I've always wanted a matched set for a VF-1D in tan and orange, like that 1/100 Toynami exclusive. If I can find a good color match, I might try it.
  20. I'll probably order Vega from The Chosen Prime or Entertainment Earth.
  21. Based on the videos posted earlier it appears to be a lot better.
