What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v4.0
Stampeed Valkyrie replied to wolfx's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Another one I am way behind on.. is it worth staying with it? Isekai Quartet S3 just wrapped. Not bad, not great, but considering this season.. you get the point. I don't know much about the Shadow anime that was the addition this season, but it really felt like the odd duck out in S3. -
Came out great! My kid would have done the same but they are loving the new-ish Ratchet and Clank game. It’s awesome!

Still waiting for both from BBTS 😟

Now you're in the ballpark. It's a Japanese high rise condominium. Once completed, it will be nearly as tall as I am. 😅 You gotta add this stuff to your toolkit: It fuses waterslide decals to the surfaces they're applied to. I never apply decals without it. 👌

I gotta admit, for a bare plastic kit OOB build, with only a panel lining and a few details, that looks pretty damn good! 😯

Hey! Bandai! Are you listening? Lol.

It has been done. The last few steps. Kid didn’t want to build anymore and instead went to play super Mario. and … DONE. Tools and colors used: Tamiya Super Thin Cement Tamiya Black panel line color Turpentine substitute 180/600/1500 grid sandpaper Stanley carpet cutter Model kit pliers Red permanent marker (Edding) Blue permanent marker (Edding) silver gloss permanent marker (Edding) Black gloss permanent marker the plamax sticker and for stuff that came off after a night, the waterslide decals. A fun build. The plamax VF-1 is such a nice kit to build. I recommend it.

Well, that's the rub with American retailers- they all have their markups in addition to S&H and whatever tariffs may apply, not to mention sales taxes. But, at least it's an option and it's still cheaper than paying aftermarket once it's retired. I figure once they tack on taxes, tariffs, and shipping, you'll be paying about $80-90, so it's likely about the same regardless. I'm just happy to have a secure preorder. I hope they follow this up with Oberan's Gazette for next year.

That is starting off great. Do the parts require a lot of filling or just line up fairly easy?

General Sci-fi designs across various media
M'Kyuun replied to M'Kyuun's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Oddly, though I've always had a strong interest in robots in sci-fi, I didn't grow up watching any Super Robot shows, not even Voltron. I did see Mighty Orbots, however, and really liked the show. Too bad it only got one season (Thanks, Tonka. Grrrr😠). It was only decades later that I learned Mighty Orbots was based on God Mars, and there were even plans to release a retooled version of that toy that more closely resembled the MO animation model. I'm digressing, but all this is to say I never cultivated a liking for the vast majority of Super Robots. I liked Big O- cool show and the mecha was cool, and I really enjoyed the Netflix Voltron series (still haven't seen the original Japanese Go Lion or the watered-down American versions), and I've tried twice to watch Super Robot Wars, which I own, but have yet to complete after close to a decade. I'm not sure why they don't appeal to me, but they just don't. I do like most of the Gundam series that I've watched, but Gundam is its own thing, just like Macross, which is awesome. I think one aspect that puts me off of most early Super Robot stuff is the combiner aspect and the fact that all the ships that make up the robot just look like disembodied poorly disguised robot parts. The greatest appeal of Transformers to me was always their realistic and believable alt modes, and that is still one of the most alluring aspects. The Dinobots and Insecticons are oddballs, as I really like them, too. By my own preferences, I shouldn't, but I do. I think it's the fact that they're robotic dinosaurs and robotic insects instead of going the BW route of realistic animals. I like BW, but more for the storytelling than the robot forms, although, admittedly, I have quite a few toys, so make of that what you will. At the end of the day, I'm still more of a vehicle/gadget/robotic animal alt mode fan than of realistic creatures/organic things. -
The lil dude is really cool

My intent was to warn and get feedback.. but I could see how it sounded negatively to the store as I was in disappointment at the time😑

Hello friends Mekanim-Userss! Part of December: Shipping News: As you know, the shipping issue is still unresolved. However, I have found companies that ship to the USA: DHL and UPS, but they are expensive. As soon as I finish the kits, I will send each of you an email with the final cost so you can make the payment, using the cheapest option I can find at that time. This will be for next year (January/February 2026). Kit updates: I've finished printing almost everything. I'm still printing small missiles and the Holders. The rifles are ready. The large missiles are ready. The Addons for Legioss-Gun are ready. The extra models from some orders are ready. Extra News: I've started experimenting with some AI techniques, and I've gotten some great results. Currently, I haven't achieved results without my direct input, but let me show you what I got and what I subsequently had to adjust to reach an amazing outcome: This is an original Mospeada line art design, Invid Protect. Gemini returned these images to me with a prompt of no more than 10 words. Then I used the Rodin (Hyper3D) app and obtained a model with these characteristics. Not bad mesh, but with little detail. I said okay, this will speed things up. I rolled up my sleeves and in just 2 days, working in sporadic hours, I managed to finish the details and the joints. Then I printed it at a 1:48 scale, the smallest scale for Sentinel-Toy. Here's the result in just two days: I plan to print it at a 1:12 scale! I still need to adjust the joints, but it's just a matter of a couple of hours. I haven't made any more progress on this because I'm spending most of my free time finishing the kits. But let me tell you, I'm obsessed with this technology. Here are some images I generated of some Mospeada designs: IA Scott Bernard version My Adapted version without Head and joints WIP (1:12 scale) I plan to make this Scott in 1:12 scale to use the extra head that comes with the SentinelToy. IA version of Refless Sera and Korg IA Version I also plan to make this character RainyBoy (IA version) in 1:12 scale, since I've had the motorcycle modeled for a couple of years now. This is my last post of the year, and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thank you for supporting my projects and for your patience with the progress of the kits. I ask for a little more patience. Happy 2026!
