  2. I think Kycilia's scheme is irrelevant until our MC trio finishes their tour on the other side and sends a paradigm shift back to change everything on this side near the end of my assumed second cour. The scheme is probably just an excuse for someone to build our kiddies a portal and give them a reason to fight over it until they both get sucked in.
  3. I have no idea if they'd go this far into a tribute, but...
  4. I’ve got the Berserk kit for guts waiting to be built. Heard some pretty good stuff about it and was checking Tag hobby and got excited about another release for the Plamatea character kitsdefinitely gonna have to pick this one up. I think it will be pretty fun to make him a bit on the dirty side with some weathering. I bet someone will put an led set for the eyes
  5. I think her plan is probably pretty basic and just thinks the threat of using the yo mama beam as deterrent or the possibility of trying to open up another dimension, but I’m pretty sure it’s just as a deterrent. She probably thinks earth will stay out of things after she Yo Mama’d A Baoa Qu
  6. I get the feeling that C-3PO got around.
  7. Not sure why y'all seem so certain that Kycilia kneecapping the Principality of Zeon's armed forces isn't 100% her plan. There's no way she did not know exactly what she was doing in destroying Gihren's personal fleet and A Baoa Qu. What her endgame is isn't clear, but it's a very safe bet that her use of the Yomagn'tho to destroy A Baoa Qu is Just As Planned.
  8. i hope the HD update turns out ok, it looks there's some widescreen implementation. But not clear if it's 4:3 ration with some side bar effects.
  9. C-3PO always introduces himself with "human-cyborg relations"... Did Anakin use the brain from a mechanical gigolo?
  10. Should the second Battle 7 ever put in an appearance in a future animated Macross story, I kind of suspect they will reuse the Battle Frontier CG model for it the same way that they reused Battle Galaxy for the Battle Astraea but keep the more vibrant color scheme used in a lot of the line art. It would be nice if they went back and made an accurate-to-the-90's-animation Battle 7 model, but that's probably more effort than they'd be willing to put in for what would surely be a cameo appearance at most. The Macross 7 fleet has put in a minor cameo before, but only in the novelization of Macross Frontier.
  11. Um.... In episode 1 of Macross 7, our first look at the exterior of Battle 7 looks like this: Notice that the ship is gray, with pale yellow cheek pads, There's two or three different angles of this area, from when Diamond Force is launching. All of them show this muted palette. So, when I was making a "realistic", more warship-like palette for Battle 7, I picked my colors right out of these scenes with a color picker tool. And then I noticed something strange as I was frame-by-framing my way through Zettai Live: the Gigasion had this exact color palette. Light gray, slightly desaturated reds and blues, and a quite pale yellow, even in the brightest lit scenes. So, kindly don't complain about the *colors*. What I was asking was, do you think they'd retcon the Battle 7 to be the same overall design as Battle Frontier? Or would they try to make an anime-accurate 3D model of the old ship instead? Edit: I'm noticing now that this shot is strange, because it implies the bridge block of the Battle 7 has been slid all the way back down the leg of the ship in order for the end of the angled flight deck to be in the foreground with the bridge block behind it. "An Outside Context Problem was the sort of thing most civilizations encountered just once, and which they tended to encounter rather in the same way a sentence encountered a full stop." — Iain M. Banks, Excession The Zentraedi were an Outside Context Problem for the Earths governments. It just so happened that Minmei turned out to be an Outside Context Problem for the Zentraedi.
  12. More to the point, they assumed that any possible war would be over territory and resources. These unknown aliens had no beef with humanity, they would be coming to reclaim their missing starship or to lay claim to the Solar System's resources. This makes sense if you are not specifically aware that the zentradi fleets are roving around looking for "the enemy" with no real strategic goals, like the planet eater in that one Star Trek episode. No one expected "you are an existential threat that must be erased from existence", because there was no reason to expect it. And it should be noted that for a time, an alliance seemed viable. The zentradi were very surprised by the capabilities demonstrated by people who very much weren't the enemy they were hunting. They wanted to get busted hardware fixed and replaced, and a new supply of reaction weapons. Humans could do both of those things. The humans, meanwhile, wanted to not be exterminated like space roaches. It seems like a small ask in exchange. ... And then the culture virus hit the zentradi ranks, causing a rapid and near-total collapse of discipline, the chain of command, and essentially destruction of zentradi society. NOW humanity is not a potential ally, they're the most dangerous thing the zentradi have seen in several millennia.
  13. I don’t know, those were those legs were rather wide apart
  14. From what I recall, any human to robot 'swerving' was more in jest.
  15. Yesterday
  16. That's fine; I'm not sure I accept your synopsis of my post as correct. There's a reason they developed that technology, and the Anti-UEG wasn't primarily it: Source: https://macross.fandom.com/wiki/Unification_Wars As for this comment: As the saying goes: "Generals always fight the last war"; in UN Spacy's case, the generals plans were for the warfare they thought would come, based on the wars they had fought. They didn't have in mind that the next one would be a space-based war. I don't see how a desaturated paint job makes much difference, other than that several years later, someone forgot to repaint the ships.
  17. It was having human to robot relations. Probably a good thing we didn’t get a full story involving his version of Lando. It might’ve gone beyond the hard R rating and Disney wasn’t quite ready to go that far at that point in time.they really weren’t ready for Lando a Love Story
  18. Do you remember Journey from the PS3 era? Journey's maker made another game which looks like a spiritual sequel:
  19. It should have been a Lando movie. Donald Glover is just so great and charismatic in that role, I'm really more interested in what he has going on.
  20. Okay I busted my copy open today which marks my very first Arcadia Valk (yay!😗). My first impression is it’s a big bird for 1/60 scale I suppose the Zero valks are designed significantly larger than VF-1’s eh, it takes up a good chunk of my limited display space. I have not audacity to transform it yet however right from the get go, the drooping intakes do bother me as they do not seem to positively lock in against gravity. I keep pushing it up, wiggle jiggle the remainder of the legs with no success. I was watching Jenius’s review dated 9 years ago and it had the exact same problem. 9 years is apparently not long enough time for a reputable boutique toy manufacturer to redesign an extra tab. Lastly is it just me, the whole thing feels so bare like a blank canvas with wings without tampo printing it screams decals and possibly some focused weathering because this was a 40k yen valk, yikes. I see now why folks spend the money to get its premium finish equivalent. Of course it isn’t the worst toy, I like the die-cast landing gears come already painted in white, that’s a first and real fresh coming from a heavy Bandai’d user.😆 I have ordered in some Aliexpress third party waterslide decals hopefully I will grow to appreciate it more when everything is said and done.
