  1. Past hour
  2. Thanks; all they gave me was Tylenol. Whiskey would have been better... I managed to build this kit without too many issues; I just used permatex plastic welder to fill in where the gaps were. will do
  3. Today
  4. Yeah, I noticed the issues with the decals. Part of the process I'm using involves exporting the models to fbx format and that seems to bork the materials. It's easy to fix, but I posted before I saw it in this case. I don't disagree with you on the color saturation, I think it's partly due to taking screenshots from the model space of Blender, because when making the textures, I actually sampled directly from images of the models. I should probably break down and learn how to do proper renders one of these days instead of taking the lazy route. 😉 Appreciate the feedback!
  5. Looks amazing! You have me a little scared for this, its in my stash (although its even older and its the first release without Khan's ship - I wished I got that version) and nothing I hate more than sanding. I think it will continue to be relegated to the back of the stash. But yours looks so good - congrats! So sorry to hear about your burns @pengbuzz - take good care of it.
  6. It's from old super robot anime Ninja Senshi Tobikage https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ninja_Senshi_Tobikage
  7. Ouch, sounds horrible. Hopefully you can recover soon and I hope they gave you some good stuff for the pain
  8. https://www.toyark.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=78266&d=1756183428 5th Bandai 1/55 CF VF-1A Reissue.
  9. I agree regarding the Toxic Rat. Especially the vandalism it did to SW and IJ. But, the Alita film wasn't a sounding success. And If One Piece was called something else and didn't bring it's goliath fanbase, it wouldn't have made it past the pilot episode.
  10. Holy cow. Hope you have a safe recovery
  11. There's also Teal 171, RVF version of it, the movie version of that with twin fold boosters on top of the wings that never got any physical rendition, and their armored packs with the reaction and dimensional bombs. Then theres Michael's tornado, and then we loop back to Durandal, which IMO was what technically kicked off the revival era with minor tweaks through the Max version, although that one wasn't called a revival since it's a new paint job. If I was Bandai and trolling, I'd go for that Konig next lmao. I feel like Luca still has reasonable chances as long as they haven't announce the Durandal to wrap up the Frontier run, but it will be without ghosts, or only 1 ghost but no super pack to chase that shrinkflation trend lol. And then to piss everyone off, they will do a micro run of 100 very floppy YF-24 Evolutions, sold through lottery, at very reasonable prices comparable to retail items of the same weight, and then scrap the molds. Gotta feed the scalper market after all lmao
  12. For the 25 specifically? The way they've been doing Revival bundles, and with the different finish, some people are probably still hoping for new bundles for Ozma's Super, Alto's Armored, and Michael's Tornado. Unfortunately for me, I'm in the camp that's just starting my Frontier collection with the Revivals so all I really want is a full Luca bundle, so they'll probably randomly do another one of those first.
  13. I've always had a thing for Ultra Magnus since my friend had one as a kid. The white Prime is what I was enamored by. Something about seeing Optimus in a totally different color blew my little mind. I've always been a sucker for repaints. I like the Delta Magnus coloring even more, and I assume they'll do him as well. But anyway, the MP Magnus toys don't include the separate cab bot mode, which is what I liked the most about the G1s. So hopefully the Missing Link versions don't have any weird concessions! I'm also really hoping for the Zs. And the Seekers, if they're even possible.
  14. I'm waiting on this!
  15. I suppose the YF-25 Prophecy, though I'd be surprised.
  16. The Rotten Rat getting its filthy mittens on Anime, more than likely to bestow its now-infamous brand of "tender loving care" upon it like they did with Star Wars and Marvel and Willow and Indiana Jones and many more, fills me with dread for this most-Japanese art form and story telling. By no means is this immediate distrust uniquely relegated to Disney; every American studio has had a terrible track record on this front, be it animation or live action: For every Alita or One Piece, there are dozens of examples of complete (on many levels) failures.
  17. Was jsut at the ER last nght: xeroform gauze and it has to be kept moist. Partal thickness 2nd degree burn, some layers missig.
  18. My guess is tht anyone below the c-suite level is fair game as far as expndability goes with W-Y. I also suspct that the entire franchise's point about corporatons and the military is that their policies tend to work against them when it comes o the xenmorphs. You cannt reason or bargain with them, and bullets aren';t enough. Then again: being stupid isnt a great tactic either. (sorry...burnd my writing hand with hot oil in kitchn last night. typing is a problem.)
  19. Oh no. That sucks. Keep the burn dry and clean and rest up. 😢
  20. Update: last night I ended burning my rght arm badly with hot oil (typing one handed rightnow so its a bit hrd. beginning to hate cooking. Until it heals, all projectsare on-hold.
  21. That, in all fairness, has been SOP for the franchise since Aliens. Weyland-Yutani is an older and more established megacorp than Prodigy is and their immense wealth doesn't make them any more careful when it comes to the lives of employees. The one time someone actually tries to exercise proper safety protocols is the original Alien, and Ripley gets overruled on that by Ash because he's got orders to bring the alien back no matter what.
  22. Yeah I also have plenty of kits in my stash, but some of the items in the private warehouse are calling to me. Time will tell.
  23. Is there anything left for Bandai to do a Revival release besides Luca? The generic cannon fodder VF-25? The only other toys I can think of are the Quarter and the Konig.
  24. Yeah, I mean, I at least like to think they aren't intentionally malicious with their teases. I can't even begin to pretend I understand the logic that governs their releases, and I can't say I know enough about gundams one way or another to guess why they behave the way they do, but their behavior with models at least seems a little more flexible? I'm surprised we got Gamlin's VF-22 at all, but maybe they were gauging reaction before they committed to the M&Ms. With the DX releases though, I'm firmly convinced they have their investments min-maxed to an obscene level, since they seem to have next to no interest to revisiting anything they don't think will sell well. With Luca, I cannot really blame them one bit for ignoring him (kind of like the Frontier movies did). I don't think anyone was clamoring for more from his character in any of the Frontier media. I would also not be even slightly surprised if Bandai collected export numbers for every release, and if the distribution between foreign and domestic purchases reached a certain point, they might make the assumption that everyone in the foreign market who wanted him probably already got him. Like imagine if they tracked the stock from the original release, and found that more foreign purchases were made than domestic. While that might point toward more of a foreign demand, it also means they'd probably be struggling to make back anything locally, and would be losing a lot to export expenses.
