One more small addition. In Vol 4 they gather various other doujinshi from other circles and do a small review/comment. For L.Cat.'s "Notice" they were amazed at the quality (she eventually married Miyatake) I've always been a fan of her work, and so were they at the time! I have a copy of her Notice #6, I'll dig in the archives and scan it up here soon. I guess that could be the next quest...find all her earlier volumes! "NOTICE" published by L Cato (Yamagata) The more I read it, the more I can only praise it. Published in Yamagata. Even Captain Chiba was amazed by this amazing fanzine. It's still a bit tame because it's a thin paper, but if it were to be published in book form, it would likely sell better than MAT. It is not a magazine specializing in Macross, but covers all the hot topics of anime, comics, science fiction, fantasy, and aviation. The drawing skills are outstanding, and the sense is superb. It's hard to believe that the mecha, characters, and sharp writing were all done by a single woman. It's one of the ideal anime fanzines. You can see intelligence in the way they "find it entertaining." (MAT's constant complaining is just stupidity...) In issue 4, "Macross Journal" shows a glimpse of its hardcore side, casually pointing out that "because Prometheus is the left arm, the angled deck is unusable," and finishing off with "Nah, never mind, never mind, that's just the ramblings of a geek." They really get it. It's a big difference from a certain THQ that is "a bit of a horizontal stabilizer idiot." (As an aside, THQ's special feature on Macross was incredibly entertaining.) By the time I got to the fifth issue of the comic, "R-Gyo Irregular Use," I was completely blown away. It's amazing how such a highbrow way of watching anime can still be "interesting." "S-sign please!"

Season 2.

Amongst the newer mainline, Wildrider is one of my favorites. Love the red windows.

Pretty clever on Takara's part to just swing the front fascia of the cab into position for the foot rather than have the entire cab reposition. Some may see it as an engineering shortcut (well, technically it is if you're an absolute purist), but it's an effective shortcut that gets the job done. Granted, the leg is going to look a little weird from the side with the door and window details perpendicular to the ground while the face of the cab is parallel. I personally don't mind, especially given all the extensive partsforming that needs to take place to affect Devastator. Next to that, this seems a much smaller compromise. At least it's integrated. One ding against this is the lack of meaningful displacement of the forearms in leg mode; they just bend back at a slight angle, which looks more like afterthought and poor planning. Had they spared an extra bit of the mold to allow for a double hinge on those elbows, they could have folded neatly and purposefully. I guess they always have to bake at least one flaw into everything to justify another toy down the road, although given Hasbro's recent statements and their pivot towards prioritizing games, those supposed toys may never come.

Well, yet again I was allowed on the internet with no supervision. Got it for $175 on Amazon, couldn’t pass the deal up. The wife probably thought I was lookin at boobs. Pretty happy with this. Articulation is great and solid. Little bummed it doesn’t hold the gun pod at a reasonable angle, but the top thingy makes with the pew pews, that that works for me. Guess I better buy another Gokin stand so I can dangle it over the edge of my shelf and give people heart attacks, lol.

Odd that it's taken this long for a sequel; it's not as much of a gap as there was with Incredibles, but still... There's not much in the way of narrative in that trailer; obviously there's a snake joining Judy and Nick as a new protagonist, and since they're being depicted throughout as being chased around the globe by the cops, there's likely suspicion that the snake indulged its carnivorous instincts, or so I surmise. I haven't watched Zootopia since it came out, but the carnivorous suppression in a mixed anthropomorphic animal society strongly reminds me of the far more mature Beastars anime, another worthy watch. Since Zootopia preceded it by about four years, I wonder if it wasn't perhaps the inspiration for the anime and its darker explorations of similar themes. Zootopia is an impressive film and, as always, there's concern that the sequel will fail to capture what made the first so good. I felt the same about Incredibles, IMHO one of the best animated films ever made, and after the long wait, and despite Brad Bird's heavy involvement, I didn't feel like it captured what made the original film great either. It's a good movie, don't get me wrong, but IMHO, it fell short. But then, Incredibles is a hard act to follow, even for its creator. I hope Zootopia 2 is fun and adds something new and interesting, but I feel like following the original film is an equally challenging proposition.

It was already confirmed this in the reboot movie timeline, Bill Skarsgard is reprising his roll as Pennywise, this is IT's last "awakening" before IT awakes in the eighties for the main two films. These kids could make it out, they're not from the books, and they aren't mentioned in the two reboot movies, a few of them could get away, the kids in the main films already mentioned other kids in the past learned of and survived Pennywise.

I can't really compete with a life-long fulfillment of a complete Takatoku collection like some others have posted here, but I will offer this one up. Here is what I believe is the complete Sky Angels doujinshi collection from the famous "Macross Attack Team (MAT)" fan circle. Setting the time machine back to 1985ish, I remember walking down to the back of my local hobby store, Military Emporium in El Cajon, Ca and seeing an awesome Valkyrie book on the rotating book stand (it was the Special Edition VF-1 edition). I didn't have money at the time, but went back sometime later to get it but it was gone. Other San Diegans may remember this store and the owner Greg who was always very,very intimidating. But as he kept all the cool Macross models in the far back of the store, I'd have walk past all the revolutionary war miniatures in the front which was what he enjoyed much more than transforming jets. After building up a rather large collection of old 80's Hobby Japans thanks to ebay and Storm Peng and others, I saw an ad in the back from Hobby Store Lark which had the cover shown...that was it! Now I knew what it was! Sky Angels VF-1 Valkyrie Special Edition!! I've included a version of the ad from the General Products catalog here, but the Lark ad was very similar. More time passes and Yahoo Japan Auction is growing quite popular. I've got my proxy bidders in place and have been spending way too much money on things I never thought I'd ever see in Macross collecting. Then "IT" appears for the first time ever...Sky Angels Special Edition! Now I'm finally going to get it, only 20 years later (this was 2005 ish?). I'm the high bidder and the auction grows nearer to close, then with just a few minutes to go...I'm going to win it..WHAM! I LOST! WHAT! Arghhhh!! It sold for $750 US!! I was 2nd highest bidder, just edged out. I slunk my head down and sighed-gone again. After 6 months or a year another Special Edition VF-1 issue popped up on YJ, and this one I did win at around $300ish if my memory serves me right. Once I received my Special Edition it was awesome...so much crazy and wild information. I had previously talked with Tanmen a few years earlier (he designed the Club-M 1/48 Ultimate Strike Valkyrie) and he mentioned he used this book for a lot of the technical data in the supplemental appendix that came with the kit. I then wanted to know about other volumes-how many were there? In the Macross TV Graffiti book, there was a little pic shown of Volume 2, which was called Sky Angels "Macross Magazine". https://www.macrossworld.com/macross/books/dou_mat2.htm I knew from the Lark ad that this was part of the Sky Angels series, and that there was at least one other Sky Angels volume with Misa on the cover called 'Don't say Goodbye'. At this point I'm going to pause for a second for an interesting side bit of fun...I was at an early MacrossWorld Con and talking with Egan Loo (Macross Compendium) about rare books and I mentioned the Sky Angels book on YJ I lost. Guess who the high bidder was at $750? Yep-he won it! I was bidding against him! He appreciated the rarity as much as I did, and it went to a good home...too funny https://macross.anime.net/wiki/Main_Page A few more years go by and YJ Auctions is still producing great results...I found a Sky Angels Vol4 "Don't say Goodbye" issue. Has some crazy Miyatake art inside. Then I see another one, Sky Angles Volume...#3? I then realized that Vol3 was the original Valkyrie centric issue, which was later greatly expanded into the Special Edition book. Almost doubled in page size. Finding a Vol 2 is my next challenge, and more time passes without luck. Then our own board member here "Akim" shows a pic of a small part of his Doujinshi collection...and there it is! Vol 2!! After selling one of my kidneys for some $$, a deal is made and Vol.2 is added to my collection! (THANK YOU AGAIN @akim !!) Cue the spinning clock image and more time passes, and I find 2 newsletter type appendixes from the MAT group. Not super heavy on content, and for some strange reason newsletter #2 pretty stongly criticizes the DYRL movie. It looks like the 2nd newsletter was the end of the official MAT circle. Now my Sky Angels collection is just missing Vol 1, whatever that is! Well last month on YJ it appeared! There was no chance I was going to let this one slip away so the bidding went on...and on and I finally won, at a hefty "don't ask" price. A few weeks later it arrived. Initially I was very surprised at the size...it was just like other very early doujinshis and was literally folded over paper stapled together! Now this was a fan made magazine! I believe this has to be one of the earliest doujinshi for Macross-they mention they had watched a preview on tv and only see a small amount of animation from the show, but the valkyrie was impressive! Here is the back cover with the "M" for Macross (Attack Team) embossed on the J head. As a final note, below is the text from the Obi that came on the Macross Journal (vol3), showing Miyatake's sense of humor. I’ll definitely watch it, but I don’t think a happy ending should be expected since there’s IT that I guess would take place later. I think it’s going by the movie timeline rather than the book or old series, and those kids didn’t come into the story till the 80’s in the movie timeline and didn’t have their adult showdown till modern times

That’s how I feel about Godzilla and King Kong movies. But I usually give these a bit of a pass, even though I know they’re bad because DINOSAURS…..

Just bought the last copy at HLJ with a coupon. I have the original 0A release but I wanted an updated copy that won't scratch the canopy during transformation and though the leg hasn't fallen off yet on my original, I'd prefer to have one where I don't have to worry about it all. I'm sure there will be additional restocks (it's already been in discontinued status and restocked at least once since release). UPDATE: And within minutes of this post, HLJ updated the 0A from "discontinued" to "restock in 3-5 days."

I don't think I can handle any more stupid people doing stupid things. The plots for these movies take it to way tooooo much excess.

The $500 offer for the 7900xt helped. Finally got it benchmarked... and while it's a niche area, I hit #1 in the world for my setup on the Speed Way benchmark on an Ally X and the EGPU I built. I need to tweak some things because the GPU is just a hair wider than the case. Once I move the fan controller it'll all fit nice. Runs wonderful, not revolutionary, but much smoother and anything with RT or frame gen is much, much better. The new Doom runs great whereas it would crash on the 7900xt sometimes.

Looks like great fun again. But aren‘t the Space Hamsters supposed to be a quartet? Or is this a sneaky IP theft?
