  1. Past hour
  2. Congrats on being able to get one at a somewhat reasonable price! Saving on shipping is a large sum! And it's a keepsake, to your visit to Japan.... So when you play with it you can always thinks about you're experience trying to hunt one down! 👍🏻
  3. If this will be used solely for work, I would not care about what GPU it comes with as long as it can handle 2-3 external monitors at 4K 120Hz (which either will do). If some gaming will be thrown in, the Intel Arc GPU will likely last you longer but the 780M is more than capable of 1080p gaming. Productivity tends to favor Intel CPUs more than AMD. But yes, some more context will help. If you don't want to say what you do exactly, just the general field of work will do. Any laptop could do Powerpoint/Excel/Word/Office so that doesn't really help narrow things.
  4. Today
  5. Here's the other pair: I managed to acquire all four Luminasta figures for less than $27 USD... including shipping! 😁
  6. Oh nice! I'm loving this little build (my first Speed Champions) it's so amazingly designed. Now that I see the Knight Rider truck, we need the Doc Enterprises white truck to go with the Delorean! There needs to be the white Lotus Esprit from the Spy Who Loved Me that parts swap to the sub!!!
  7. Ever consider smuggling? 😄
  8. So I just got back from Japan and was able to find a couple places with Roy's GBP. One store had 2 of them at 62,980 yen. It was a smaller shop in the same building as Ami Ami. Then I was able to find another one at Trader Akiba at 49,800 yen. Obviously I ended up getting that one. Figured with the exchange rate, tariffs and shipping I was still making out better than waiting for April release.
  9. Trans ischemic attack=Mini stroke not detectable on CT Twich
  10. Watched this couple days ago. Going in I had near zero expectations on the narrative front, but coming out I realized I did have one - which is at least an expansion to the world building aspects like the 2nd movie. Instead, we got just one new tribe, and everything else remained the same. Felt episodic like one of the Saturday morning cartoons of the past, albeit a very lengthy one lol. On technical level it was great. The action was superb, easy to follow, and majorly elevated in 3D as previous which to me entirely justifies the ticket price. Sumptuous.
  11. If I had a print that big, I'd be overly excited too! I would say at the time, I wasn't smart enough for that section of the model. I figured the snap-friction-fit was sufficient for the scale & the material I was using was forgiving enough. I might be smart enough now, to redesign the part/s. 😅
  12. Yeah I'm quite impressed with the HG kits, and I'm more partial to the simpler designs like the Barbatos as they can be posed easily as compared to say, a Freedom which really needs to be placed on stands at minimum.
  13. Ah, the dreaded two-packs, an unfortunate necessity within the industry. JFS knows most of us bought the 7" McFarlane RoboCop, and the 7" NECA RoboCop, and the battle-damaged variants, and now we need to buy another 7" RoboCop to get a Lewis figure... and yet another to get Toxic Emil. 😒
  14. I was so excited to put it together that orienting the legs properly was not in my thoughts. 😅 Honestly, slipping of the thighs could have been done in a better fashion. They seem to lack friction by being sliced this way. Still a very cool and fun figure.
  15. I have a tough time watching that one at home. It just doesn’t hold up. But if it had a 3D rerelease, I would consider it. It’s one of the most immersive and best use of that technology for film making and such a shame that so much of the feel is lost when it goes into 2D
  16. Recent Moderoid kits are very simple and require very little in the skills department. As long as you got something to clip out the parts and smooth the nubs, then you can succeed
  17. yeah, this is the review i was looking at that also compares Intel vs. AMD plus last gen AMD that i linked. review says it's about the same performance as the Ryzen 7 350 AI for this particular laptop. Yeah, i'll pm you if i get another laptop and will ship it to you.
  18. ^ I am the same. I wish I had modeling skills, but I don't.
  19. I'd watch Plus first. Mac2's animation was sketchy and stay away from the English dub at all costs. Plus has one of the best dubs out there and the animation is far better overall. Only other item of note is that Plus has the most mature subject matter of any Macross show.
  20. It might help if I knew a bit more about what kinds of tasks you do besides presentations, and what kinds of games you want to run. On paper, both of those Zenbooks should have similar GPU performance (Arc is slightly more capable, but Radeon is more stable with more mature drivers), both capable of playing most modern games at 1080p low-to-medium. Both also should offer more CPU performance than the Yoga, with the Intel CPU pulling away from the Ryzen by a wider margin. If you do decide to pull the trigger on another laptop shoot me a PM. I'm not sure if she'd actually want it, since she mostly uses her laptop for spreadsheets and web browsing, but that Yoga you already have should still be better than what she's using, so I might be interested in buying it off you if you're not going to use it.
  21. Re-watching AVATAR on D+. After over 15 years the VFX still holds up, could be released as a new film tbh. Interestingly its the shorter of the three films, probably why its considered the best of the three.
  22. Somehow I forgot that setting Batocera up properly involves literal days of scraping box art... Aside from that, I'm coming along. I've got the following set up with (nearly) complete North American retail sets (with a smattering of Japanese and European games) with box art for: Atari 2600 Atari 5200 Atari 7800 Atari Lynx Atari Jaguar Colecovision Intellivision Magnavox Odyssey 2 NES SNES Gameboy Gameboy Color Gameboy Advance Virtual Boy N64 Turbo Grafx 16 Sega Master System 3DO I should also have (nearly) complete sets, but hit my daily scraping limit so box art, for Sega Genesis Sega CD Sega 32X Sega Sega Saturn Sega Dreamcast Neo Geo AES Then, due to storage constraints, I have more curated collections with art for A variety of arcade ROMS that run in MAME TurboGrafx Turbo CD Bandai Wonderswan Nintendo Gamecube As well as curated sets that still need box art for Sony PlayStation Sony PlayStation 2 Sony PSP I've tested at least one game for every included platform successfully, so I know I at least have the emulator cores and BIOS files set up right. I'll start scraping again tomorrow, then I have to wait for my Sinden gun to come so I can see how it works.
  23. the only laptop i have that is the yoga. I do alot of presentation with power point so i need a touchpad that's reliable on the go. where i don't have to set up a separate mouse. the trackpad is inconsistent on this yoga, i'm looking to possible keep and live with it or swap with another laptop in the same range and get a separate gaming laptop. or get a decent laptop that can do both. this 860m is pretty weak in the ryzen 7 AI 350, i read the prev gen's ryzen7's gpu was stronger. yeah, i might keep it since it was open box for 392 dirt cheap. Azreal and Mike, i was thinking of looking for the intel arc version in the same class since the gpu is much better for gaming. like this one open box is $530: ASUS ZenBook 14 Laptop: 14" FHD+ OLED Touch, Ultra 7 255H, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD or this Ryzen 7 one: Open Box: ASUS ZenBook 14: 14" FHD+ OLED Touch, Ryzen 7 8840HS, 16GB LPDDR5, 512GB SSD $476
