Star wars episode 3

Recommended Posts

Interesting pics, but I am not wild about that fighter design. Typical bridging design, trying to put elements of too many craft into one, just doesn't really work for me. For one thing it is way too small, all other fighters in star wars are much large with some actual bulk to them, this thing has none.

Wow. It's gonna be quite a feat for them to cover all those years between Episodes II and IV. But, as long as I see the birth of Vader I'll be one happy pappy (at least James Earl Jones is going to be involved).

yup anakin looks cool, i do not like the designs of the ships at all, they are very ugly, i hope we get a chance to see a X wing or Tie protype . i love the fact the the emporers royal gaurds are back, and we can see C3PO in all of his gold glory, the wookies look funny, they look like those ones from the chritmas special. (is that chewie in the bottom right corner?) and i can see Jar Jar (hope he dies this time around). i am highly anticipating this movie but i am worried about how well it is going to come out, with the last 2 being disapointing and all. I do not know how Lucas is going to tie all 3 films together and explain all the small details that this trilogy was suppossed to do in the first place within a 2 hour time frame and when you consider the films special effects and how it might have the biggest space battle scene ever filmed as well as all of the light saber fights, i am expecting George to announce a prequel trilogy to this prequel trilogy just to explain everything he missed this time around

yeah, that's pretty weird that it was up for a very short time. Maybe someone made the host of the website take them off? Well at least one of us here saved them! Thanx UN spacy! :p:D:lol:

I liked Obi Wan's fighter (in AOTC) a lot more than this one.

for sure,

the JSF is way cooler but on the flipside of that coin, i'm glad lucas is going back to more rugged/ridged look for starships....thats really bothered me as far as the NT movies goes....oh and the explaination of meta-whatchamawhosits that all jedi have, like we needed a scientific explaination.

The reason everything looks crappy in the OT and super sleek in the NT has something to do with the war and the empire. I figured it was just because the Emperor's rule was so crappy that shipbuilders were forced to take a more rudimentary approach.. but I dunno...

MMM.. Twi'lek...

i try to think of that way too.

first, they got the fancy ships, they go to war, they get lose, they only have so many ships/technology left and have to make due with what they got. basically, if the thing flies and fires, its good enough for the rebels.:lol:

FYI, the probable reason the first round of pictures disappeared is because Lucasfilm is starting to severely crack down on site posting illicit scans from the SW Insider. Fortunately, I think Macross World is probably too small (and a non-SW site to boot) to get noticed, but we should still be cautious posting this stuff.

And there are much cooler pictures from this latest batch out there. I'll try to post 'em later. ;)

Didn't Lando say that about his mining operation?

I agree that the new fighter looks like too much of a compromise design... and R2's underside must be danglin'!

I'm curious to see some of the other images, as I prefer the overall batch of designs I've seen thus far for EIII. Still think the film itself is gonna be poo, tho. :D Too many dingly danglys to wrap up by the end for it to be a smooth transition from 3 to 4. Then again the new TV series could fill in the blanks...

Well, one way to look at it, at the beginning of the Clone Wars and before then, the Republic was rich and powerful, and also weapons were built as status symbols as much as for fighting. Those Naboo fighters, for example, fancy royal escort. As the war goes on, a lot of the fancy dressing is dropped in the designs, as the Empire concentrates on building cheaper, yet more effective weapons. There's also the matter of the cost of the war. Things aren't so clean and well kept on the front lines.

Another way to look at it, compare a 57 Chevy to an 84 model.

Mmmmmhmmmmmmm.

they should bring in the Y-Wing some where as a top of the line fighter since by A New Hope, it's pretty old.

I hope they do as well, though this design for the Jedi starfighter makes sense, as it's the precursor to the TIE fighter.

Nice pics. That fighter is ugly, but I can see the lineage.

I'd have hoped for Y-wing and/or X-wing precursors (Z-95) more than TIE, but TIE makes sense.
