Hopefully it won’t just be a total comedy though. personally, I really loved the Dredd movie with Karl Urban. I know there were talks of doing a series on prime to continue that one with Karl Urban returning, probably since The Boys will be ending, but haven’t heard that that project was cancelled or any new news on it. Thom Posted July 18 Posted July 18 Urban's Dredd was so good! What a missed opportunity for more. Quote

The greatest thing about him was that he wasn’t so centered on himself and didn’t push to have his face shown without the helmet. I wish more comic character actors had that going for them, but they usually have to have their face shown too much. Dredd found a perfect way to have the character be the character without background or relying on scenes of his personal life, just Dredd from start to finish. Probably also the best example of how to do a reboot ever Quote

TangledThorns Posted July 27 Author Posted July 27 Watched HAPPY GILMORE 2 on Netflix. It was good nostalgia fun. Ton of cameos tho. Quote
Tking22 Posted July 28 Posted July 28 Yeah I liked Happy 2, much better then most of the schlock Sandler puts up on Netflix, and if you play golf there's a ton of cameos from PGA pros, just pretty fun overall. Quote
Mog Posted July 29 Posted July 29 Yeah, add me to the “Liked Happy Gilmore 2” crowd. It’s a little saccharine and cheesy. But wound up getting a bunch of laughs out of me. Spoiler Got pissed that they killed off the wife so early on, but I get the plot reasons for it, and they found ways to tastefully keep her in the story. I died with the “more age appropriate” happy place montage, the Arnold Palmer joke, and Stephen A.’s ridiculously asinine hot-take. Yeah, ton of cameos and nostalgia bait. And I’m wondering if that Maxi Golf thing is a swipe at the LIV vs PGA golf stuff. But kinda fun to see John Daly, Haley Joel Osment, and Bad Bunny (of all people) making good contributions to the film. Quote
mikeszekely Posted July 29 Posted July 29 Happy Gilmore is my favorite of Sandler's films. HG2 isn't on that level, but it's probably the best film he's done in 20 years. Quote

I no nothing about Golf so I thought Maxi Golf was a play on the stupid EXTREME fad of the 1990s. Quote

I’m more of a Waterboy fan myself (just because it’s fun watching guys get absolutely destroyed on clean hard tackles). But OG Happy is right up there. Quote
