Hobbysearch has the hmr listed. Says reservation closed. Wasn’t sure if it’s a placeholder or if it just sold out for the preorder

I believe that the listings on most of the sites are place holders. I remember reading somewhere (TagHobby maybe?) that the preorder date is November 10th. Has anyone had any trouble getting any of the non HMR releases? They have been readily available through most sources. The only one I think I have missed is the Zakaal from SPT Layner, and that is only because I was waiting to find one discounted.

I’m pretty sure they’re not gonna do a placeholder for ten days. It’s either up tonight or came and went.

per tamasshiweb official,  PO was scheduled on 11/1 in Japan, so it did came and went already last night:

Seems very extremely low allocations, too, even by Bandai's usual stupid tactics.

AE doesn't outright state limit-one, but it goes out-of-stock right away when you cart one from them.

Oh, well.

Try to catch Ami-eng tonite or something, but do prepare to be disappointed:

hjweb posted their latest (p)review and stuff of the HMR Scopedog:

https://hjweb.jp/article/1206953/

The pics are similar to the tamashii-blog's.

One feature that has been puzzling me is this:

Why, Bandai?

:( 😕

I'm not sure if that was on purpose giving collectors options to paint the bare face since it comes with another face that is tampo printed as per description in that HJweb link. Unless you meant otherwise.

Okay, I think that's a Last Red Shoulder TC in the upper left and a the Blood Sucker so two more releases? Surprised they didn't go to the round mover, parachute pack, and Melkia versions for the easy $.

Yeah.  They're the LRS Turbo-Customs (seven-missiles box). Expecting it to be the complete team of Gregor, Murza, Byman, and Chirico.

I do hope Bandai will also do the ROA six-missiles Red Shoulder TC variants. Complete with Gregor's chains and stuff!

As such, I also do hope Bandai makes a Space Fatty since it's a sorta hero-type coz Chirico piloted one for his duel with Ypsilon.

For those that are curious about Bandai's HG Scopedog.

Edit: Here is another one with a comparison to the Wave kit. I find Wave's version to be better, the HG just overall feels too basic.

Just going by reviews since I don’t have the hg kit, to get a full set by wave to have to make sure to get the ps version and that goes for all of their Votoms 1/35 kits. So to be fair to the Bandai kit , it’s bigger and more articulated than the wave kit for less than $20 but no frills included. The wave kits on the other hand are more accurate looking though since Bandai likes to try and add joints in odd spots like the upper thighs and for the shoulders to swivel forward. The shoulder pop off thing sounds like something frustrating on the Bandai one and I haven’t had an issue like that with wave, but there’s probably a way to mod the Bandai one so that doesn’t happen.

The biggest thing for me is that there’s a pretty big variety of Votoms 1/35 kits for wave and Bandai only has a scopedog and some parts that you have to purchase separately through their web store. If I knew for sure Bandai were gonna do more with their hg line than just a scope dog, I might be more interested but to get the full set it costs about as much as a wave ps version kit and I personally think the wave ones look better even though the articulation is a bit more basic

Fwiw, I'm very meh on Bandai's HG series.

HMR BurglaryDog will be very welcome, tho...

This seems better than the basic scopedog , but it’s annoying that it has no fist hands for the punch or a cockpit with pilot. I already have the wave version, so it’s another skip for me. I’ll probably be more interested if the do non scopedog kits for the series, but so far it’s kinda a letdown line

My son and I are building a 1/20 Bandai kit now as a "when we have time" activity and I'm pretty impressed (as many of you said I would be). Anybody have a suggestion on what kind of glue I could use on this kit? My son snapped a couple thin rods on the missiles and now he can't connect the red missile tips to them.

You can try the regular Tamiya Extra-Thin Cement (green-cap):

I don't have any experience with the Quick-Setting version, tho.
