Between this, Gundam Seed Battle Destiny, and Oblivion it's looking like a good year for playing shinier versions of games I already played. Quote

mikeszekely Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago I feel bad for all the developers who already moved their release date so as not to compete with GTA only for GTA to get moved. Quote

I was just reading the other day Borderlands 4 may have been in that situation. They had a release date, slightly altered it, and now people are speculating it was to avoid GTA VI, now, doesn't really matter, bummer. Doesn't matter much to me, with how prices are going these days, Microsoft blatantly upping their prices for everything starting this holiday season, thanks Nintendo, I absolutely believe GTA VI will get announced at $90 for the standard edition. Which I will not pay at launch, these price hikes were a long time coming I get it, but it's making me think I'd rather move onto my massive backlog instead of bothering with brand new games for a good while to come. Yeah, I haven't played GTA since 3, and I wasn't planning on getting 6. I just think it sucks for the other guys moving their games out of that prime holiday window to avoid competing, only for that to not be a factor. Especially for the ones who moved their games to spring, who now have to compete with the game they were trying to avoid competing with. I haven't paid $70 for a game yet, no way I'm paying $80-$100. I wishlist what I want and wait for Steam sales. I can kinda see how tariffs can affect the cost of physical media, but there's no excuse for digital games where half the content is stripped out to be sold as DLC later to go up. Quote
