I have to admit that I'm really getting excited about seeing this movie. This would actually be the FIRST movie I would see in 3-D (No, I didn't see Avatar). It is my hope that Bay doesn't put in the "usual" idiotic elements of the first two films i.e: Sam's parents, dogs humping, dogs urinating, robots farting, robots humping, robots urinating, agents in underwear, and all the other junk I have to fast-foward past whenever I watch my DVD'S. One can hope although I saw the new trailer which has that little blue deception from Revenge of the Fallen riding on the back of a dog!!!

Apparently Spielberg doesn't take Hitler jokes lightly or how to get fired from your only steady pay check.

Can you blame him...

Having worked in a Jewish company I can say we didn't even mention Adolf's European tour for fear of just that.

He didn't just get her fired, he also digitally replaced her in the first two films, and will have "agents" secretly replace everyones DVD's & blurays before the premiere of the 3rd.

Fire someone over that!? I dunno. Be pissed off, yes, cut pay, reprimand, force a public apology, but end someone's job. Seems excessive.

ell, she had been bad mouthing the franchise, publicly for a while. The hitler comment didn't just come out of the blue.

I think it's perfectly fine to fire any employee who is out, publicly, repeatedly, bad mouthing the company.

Besides this Megan Fox issue, is this 3rd installment really only 1 hour and 30 minutes long? Seems really short imo. The first 2 were at least 2 hours long each...

nope. Where did you here that?

the official running time is somewhere between 134 and 153 minutes

so somewhere between 2 hours 14 minutes and 2 hours 33 minutes.

probably means the writers spent more time watching cartoons than reading the comics which is the easy way out. like writing an essay on the novel War and Peace after seeing the mini series on HBO.

I get the analogy, but I can't believe you just compared War & Peace with Transformers comics.

I don't get the feeling Fox got fired for bringing up Hitler in some anti-semetic way. It seems she got fired for being stupid. For stupid people, "Hitler" = "really bossy person" - and Fox apparently meant to say that Bay was really bossy.

I'm sure if you asked her "like Stalin??" she would say "like who?"

If she really was all that dumb, then yes - I think dumb people should be fired :-)

And in any case - I never thought she was hot either; her stupidity oozes into her femininity at every step (thus the "porn actor" comment)

Looking forward to the movie.

Yes I think that most employers call it gross miss conduct. Certainly under U.K employment law you can get fired for it, no warning letters or such. It is also a very good way of getting out of a contract, when you want to go to a more lucrative one, but that's another story.

I remember someone got fired a couple years back in the UK for obnoxiously dissing Argos, whom they were working for, online. And I think they tried to appeal against that decision! I don't get that -- if you're openly bad-mouthing your employer, they're under no obligation to keep you on.

Remember that one, although Argos has had a bad rep for staff treatment and attitude in the past.

My current employer has a policy in it's employment manual covering on line media such as face book etc.

More sinister though they also harvest personal email addresses of employees from them registering for company offers and other non work related junk on the intranet and website . Then the security department use them to hunt for staff presence on forums and facebook etc looking for people saying how shite they are. Sad thing is there are several videos on Youtube where staff are bad mouthing the company and also destruction of company property. AFAIK the involved people are still employed, where as one guy who posted about a night out on facebook is gone because he rang in sick.

Shame that I never give out my "real " email address to them, and certainly dont have any of the managers as friends on facebook.

Thanks for the info. I'll be in the UK again for a few weeks soon and I had felt out of the loop for a while, so it's nice to at least get an idea of how things seem to get from bad to worse.

Speaking of facebook, I still don't have an account (despite many friends asking me to join) precisely because of stories like the one you just told me. I've been on the fence about it for so long, but I still haven't found a decent enough reason to justify it.

Damn you, Takara Tomy! Take my money now!

Transformers Dual Model Kit Galleries from Tokyo Toy Show

prime looks really cool, bumblebee... is 3,800 yen and he still doesn't have a wrist swivel. <_<

Have both on pre-order with HLJ. Was told to expect them in stock within a few days. I don't plan to build either until I see a couple of reviews. -_-

I just imagine bayformers being a nightmare to put together from sprues.

Probably, but probably not that much different from other models.

I just can't abide by non-transforming Transformers... even if they're models...

Oh - and are those SCALE models?

Or, in Transformers tradition - is everything completely non-scale? :-)

Pete

If Hasbro or Takara would put out transforming Transformers that looked that good then I'd be I'd agree 100%, but they don't. And yep, the models are in scale with one another.

Hopefully the movie and the models turn out to be worth the time and effort.

But how would you be able to tell what was an actual piece of the model, and what was just some random sprue? Just about anything could be used for the random meshes of metal that make up those designs!

I think she did this on purpose actually, precisely to be fired from this franchise because she hated working on it right from the very beginning...

At least, she never tried to hide her feelings towards blockbusters :)

Depends on your employer, depends on your union if you have one.

I hate my employer *and* my union, so hows that for Catch-22?

And I am not supposed to publicly criticise my employer.

I don't blame her. Her role in the movies was basically scream for sam, and look uncomfortable in a "sexy" pose. After two movies you'd probably want your character to do something else. Then they tell you for the third movie your going to do the same.

I'd leave.

I think Fox was calling Bay a fascist in the way he directs people (which is something in common with Steve Yun). But yeah I think that comparing him to either Stalin or Mussolini would've been more appropriate, since they were both equally fascist.

O.K. and Megan Fox was doing what BEFORE Transformers?

If you look at Spielberg's movies, he makes it a point to kill Germans as often as possible. Considering that, I think it's pretty idiotic to compare anyone on his team to Hitler.

EDIT: Typo
