CrazyMartian
Can we get some FP-KK action pic's?! As for Kanaria, Nene, Raramia, & Liza, I'm actually surprised they're not there. Any sign of Emilia? I wouldn't count any of them out yet though, at least until everything is S ranked, and all the extra mission passwords have been released. Any sign of a custom pain scheme "Monster Girl," VB-6? I can take snapshots with my PSP (plugin in the CFW), but I have no idea how to post the pics here. Pointers? Emilia, I don't know. I haven't played much of the 7 Missions. Honestly, 7 is my least favorite, but I'll take a look just because of curiosity. Regarding Liza, Raramia, Nene and Kanaria, I'm sure they're not included. Same with Chlore, whose machine we saw in a scan. Reason is that their names showed up while fighting, but they don't get a portrait and of course no voices. I'd have liked if they included them as well as the other series specific bridge operators. Honestly, I was expecting to see Bobby. He made me choke laughing several times and he really kicked ass as the pilot for the Macross Quarter. Sure, Captain Assgrab called the shots, but the pilot was Bobby. Keith
The in game video recording option should still have the option of taking a couple snap shots per recording. Those pictures will save to a folder in your picture's folder as jpegs.

mikeszekely
Just a couple of things... The actual campaigns you can pick to do are Zero, SDF Macross, DYRL, Plus, 7, Dynamite 7, and Frontier. In addition to those, there's the Tutorial missions, the Chronicle missions, the Enemy missions, and the Extra missions. Tutorial is self-explanatory. Chronicle is sort of like the EX missions from MAF. The enemy missions have been moved to their own tab instead of sitting at the end of a campaign. And Extra missions should also be familiar to anyone who's played the Gundam Battle games or MAF. The Macross II missions are in Extra. There are enemy Battle Pods from Macross II, the Gilgamesh, and VF-2SS. No sign of any other Macross II mecha or ships. The VF-2SS is a surprisingly average mecha, better than most of the Zero, SDFM, and DYRL mecha, but worse than the Frontier mecha. Neither the FBz-99 or AZ-130 have Gerwalk modes. I've seen, but don't have available, the VF-9. There's no sign of the VF-14, VF-3000, or Variable Glaug. The VA-3 is the civilian model from Dynamite 7; no sign of the Spacy models. The Pheyos Valkyrie also isn't in the game. At least as far as I've seen; I've only done two of the Extra missions. The VF-19P, despite being a Zolan patrol ship, is only usable by Basara, and fights like the Fire Valkyrie. When equipping FAST or Armored Packs, you'll notice you have two options: Type A and Type B. The Default is Type B. In both cases, you'll have a health bar over your regular health bar. The difference between A and B is that you wear A until you're defeated, but you dump B when the extra health meter is gone. With few exceptions, you can wear packs during atmospheric levels, but you're restricted to Battroid and Gerwalk modes. Should you wish to dump the packs manually, hit all four face buttons simultaneously.
D.D. Ivanov
That last part about being restricted to Battroid and Gerwalk is exactly what I wanted to hear. It's a nice bit of attention to detail that wasn't present in MAF.

mikeszekely
Got mine now someone tell me how to Save & play the next level. I keep replaying that first level of Macross Zero. It should autosave. After you finish a mission and get your score, you hit circle and a message about saving will come up, then you'll go back to the hangar. Upgrade your mecha, then hit L to tab to the mission select screen. Tap down to pick the next mission (this is actually always true; when you come back to the hangar, the last mission picked with be where the cursor's at on the Mission tab). If all else fails (maybe you accidentally disable autosave?), hit the start button on the hangar screen, and "Save" is the third from the bottom. Sorata
Ill try to scan the illustarations when I get my scanner cleaned up a bit. Also a tip for the shop, Sheryl appears most often after you earn a SS and items in the shop are cheaper with her than Ranka. So afr I have beat Zero, Frontier, Dynamite 7 and Macross working on DYRL now. Game is tough at times but easier than the first, I have mostly all ss ranks and about 4 s ranks. EDIT Here you go let me know if you need bigger resolutions, note I dont have a account so these can only be downloaded 10 times let me know if the link dies and you want them. http://rapidshare.com/files/288360368/photo0001.jpg.html http://rapidshare.com/files/288361048/photo0002.jpg.html http://rapidshare.com/files/288361721/photo0003.jpg.html Edited October 4, 2009 by Sorata

CrazyMartian
I have gone to the place I never thought I'd ever go... It didn't pass by my mind EVER... E-V-E-R... Where is that, you ask? Under the Giant Ranka's skirt!! And wanna know what is down there? NOTHING!! Her legs are attached to nothingness. I was evading her attacks with chaff as I took a nosedive. What happened then is that I went back to Gerwalk, only to find myself under her skirt. I escaped the attack, but went back to take the pic. Hahahaha! Oh, man. I had a great laugh. Keith, I've given up on uploading the pictures. Please send me a PM with your email so I can send them to you. I'll include the Airy Underpants of the Giant Ranka. mikeszekely
Since the YF-21's special was nerfed, what do you guys think the best unit is for clearing the Extra stages? I'm getting frustrated because I'm failing missions not for dying, but for running out of time.
Beltane70
This is getting frustrating. I'm stuck on the Bird Human mission. The weird thing is that I was able to get to the AFOS part of the mission on the first try, but now I can't even get past the Nora and DD fight without having the time run out. Graham
Are the SV-51 machine guns still uber-powerful in MUF? Graham
Keith
I've been playing for the past day + savoring a bit, as I'm playing chronologically, and am just now finishing DYRL, but I can honestly say this is the best Macross, nay, BEST ANIME GAME E-V-E-R-!-! I knew Ace Frontier wasn't finished, but Ultimate is making it look like an early beta. The subtle attention to detail in the story missions is incredible (having to catch Minmay at the end of the first DYRL mission after the gravity system goes down!). The genius foresight of the programmers knowing they couldn't possibly get the license (or afford to at least) all the songs, and letting us slip our own MP3's in, genius! I've opted for normal flight, as "real" just isn't dynamic enough for me with this game, but regardless of which you choose, this game rolls up all the best of the PS2 Macross game, VFX-2, and MAF, for a true mecha porn experience. And while I'm sad that as of yet, it doesn't look like all my sweet sweet tune points will carry over, my titles did (of which I was only missing 11), and over a million missile count did as well. Another nice touch, things seem to be in much better scale this time around. I definately can tell now that Regult's are larger than Valkyries, and Zentradi soldiers are around the same size. I haven't dipped into the enemy mission, or chronicle tabs yet, I want to savor story first, but damn, everything is fitting together soo smoothly this time. And Graham, the save menu is nearly exactly the same. The only difference is that the 3rd option down is where they stuck the settings tab from the last game (auto save, player card, sound levels). But everything else there is exactly the same. Ah, and I haven't played much with the SV-51, but its machine guns still seem fierce, but totally unlevelled they don't last long. I can't wait to get to 7, but I must! The Ghost Booster is soooo awesome! As for anyone having trouble with the AFOS, get behind the mofo, and spam it with gunpod & HM missiles. It'll go down pretty quick. If you still need more help, set your support character to the little sword icon, and save that for when you're about to fight the AFOS and get a good lock on it, since I think you can only use that particular support skill once per battle (for some reason??). Nora & DD? Spam with HM missiles, and use an SP combo on Nora to wittle her down quick. If you don't own a PSP, buy one, then buy this game! If you're still playing Ace Frontier, put that sh!t back in its box, and pop in Ultimate!! Edited October 5, 2009 by Keith
Graham
Ha, sounds awesome. Can't wait, but I will. Gotta get S or SS on all the MAF Freeplay missions first. It is my new challenge. Graham

I'm not sure which other valks have it but the super speed special of the vf1j max version lets me get in melee range of anything and punch them to death, even enemy valks in fighter mode. Too bad its stats are a bit lacking being a first gen valk =(

Not that I get hit often... I stay in Gerwalk and Fighter modes and have FAST packs equipped. The problem is when you've got 20 minutes to take out pretty much one of everything, I ran out of time around Gepernitch.

Tochiro
Ooh good call! Damnit now Im gonna have Get Free stuck in my head all day at work ^^; I wonder what the chances are of getting it at either the Macross Crossover Live or the Firebomber Reunion Live in November. Personally I'd kill to hear Hear & Soul done live for ONCE, but theres pretty much zero chance of that happening. Oh well, kinda off topic anyway. As for the bonus UMD - nowhere near as good as the 20th anniversary DVD that was was released, but pretty good and fun to watch during my lunchbreak nonetheless :-)
