valentin Posted August 29, 2009 Share Posted August 29, 2009 Slowly taking apart the figurine... And the rest of the parts off the trays... The parts do have a nice and snug fit. Of course, please use the usual care in slowly taking them apart. One thing is, parts of the clothing do have pegs similar like when assembling snapfast model kits/gundam model kits. So do take care when (dis)assembling this figurine. Now, let's take a look at the base. It's totally transparent, and comes with Sheryl's signature on it. And the neat thing is that the signature is printed on the underside of the base, so no worries about accidentally rubbing it off on top. I have collected some PVC figurines in the past(Gundam Seed Destiny's RAHDX, GITS:SAC, etc), and this is one extremely detailed figure. Even with the swappable parts, the details are indeed flawless. The essence of Sheryl Nome during her concert is very much captured in this figurine. And before I end off, here's some more random pics with a certain background... I am quite pleased the quality of it and do recommend it if one is a PVC figure collector, though I do wonder if they will release an alternate red version? Might be a job for the customizers out there? I with Sheryl out of the box, I also took the opportunity to take a pic of Minmay (CM's Corporation, released earlier this year). I'll upload a nice big picture set once it gets late enough to shoot some stuff (extra late tonight or tomorrow). I'll go over some finer points of the figure once I upload pics. First impressions are overall positive although there are a few little snags here and there. Also as a heads up to anyone who hasn't gotten theirs yet, the part that makes up the whip is made from a very thin brittle piece of plastic. be VERY careful when handling it (i.e. when inserting it into the handle) because it can easily break. Then again, so was May Nakabayashi's (May'N) hot pants during her mini-concert promotion in Singapore last year. And yeah, she was wearing a black pair too. BTW, I have a special feeling this red version will be a hobby japan magazine mail-in exclusive order, just like a lot of 2P color Queen's Blade figures, and the green-hair color Monster Ranka Lee. Anyway, that means I can save money since I know alot of sellers like playasia will jack up prices to 2x or more for these items, and I never pay more than SRP anymore. I am very, very, VERY impressed with Megahouse's efforts on this one. The sculpt is everything I've expected in a Sheryl Nome figure. The cast off clothing is handled very well. But make sure that you are careful when separating the tabs (especially underneath her arm pits) because it takes a bit of coaxing to make sure they stay in place. Everything needs to be exactly in the correct place to ensure a tight fit. The paint applications are superb as I didn't notice any imperfections. Nevertheless. I'd give this figure a 9.5 out of 10. So far, I've only just managed to acquire a 1/5 Yoko from Gurren Lagann... (pics when I get it!) ... But I hope that I manage to get this one and the 1/8 Ranka In the end, Ranka just doesn't do as well in skimpy sexy poses (Monster Girl)... she's better off being a cute bubbly waitress or prancing around in her big boots and nice dress .... Thing is i am slowly paying off my 28cm Sheryl, and i regard that and the Megahouse Sheryl just released as the ultimate. Hell how easy it will be to do the same poses and more lol *looks around the room* >';] don't need it. I need my VF-11B's!!!!
