  1. But it's not an alcohol, tobacco, or oh wait...
  2. LOL LOL totally dissapointed when I didn't see "From Justin Lin, the director of Fast and the Furious." I live life quarter stadia at a time.
  3. Perhaps I am a sad and pathetic panda, but seriously... that's what I do for EVERY movie, game, or book that interests me . Read it first on wiki, and decide if it's worth my money.
  4. One of my favorite designs, The OV-10, is apparently active in anti-ISIS operations performing its intended CAS role: http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2016/03/09/why-is-america-using-these-antique-planes-to-fight-isis.html
  5. ... in your travels, did you ever see the one and only An-225 in action?
  6. Not a sleek fighter... but handled like a boss. #thuglife
  7. FF Tactics is also available on PSP / Vita. It was rebranded as FF Tactics: War of the Lions and had some nice cut scenes added... still the same awesome game though. https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-us/games/final-fantasy-tactics-the-war-of-the-lions/cid=UP0082-ULUS10297_00-FFTWOLUMDL000000
  8. Logistics in the UN Spacy must be a freaking nightmare rofl ... ~ 2 new Valkyries per decade, and so many variants for each model.
  9. Played X-Com 2 in Veteran at first... got destroyed. After finishing the campaign in Rookie, I'm faring much better in Veteran mode now. There are a lot more game mechanics and soldier class idiosyncracies to learn this time around, so it might not be a bad idea to swallow your pride and start in Easy mode if you're struggling. Also, the metagame is beyond punishing, it adds so much more tension than the base management of X-Com 1.
  10. I am an on/off EVE online player, and also dabbled for a few months in Dust 514. The problem with CCP's EVE games is that they all eventually become a cesspool of the worst aspects of multiplayer / online gaming - scams, meta gaming, abusive exploitation of game mechanics, etc. This admittedly is also what makes EVE Online great for people who are into that sort of thing. I almost feel like their games are designed to bring out the worst in all of us . EVE has an incredibly rich lore, and I think Dust and Valkyrie were good opportunities to exploit that, and make one hall of single player campaign gaming experience or Co-Op, but instead they opted to go again make it into another multiplayer pvp-fest.
  11. I'm going to predict that the final product will be similar to the Yamato 2199 Mecha-Collection kits, Hobby Search has photos of the pristine runners (Cosmo Falcon in this case): http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10295065
  12. .... so long Gjallarhorn ... it was fun while it lasted. http://www.vg247.com/2015/07/17/destiny-praise-rngesus-gjallarhorn-is-getting-a-nerf/ How am I going to play the game now? (tone: sarcastic)
  13. I find the "IRON-BLOODED ORPHANS" tag line hilarious. Due to the nature of hemoglobin, most people are iron blooded ... they might as well have just called the show Gundam: "Regular Guys" or Gundam: "Friends". P.S. Another vote for the awesomeness of the grunt suits.
  14. From the now infamous F-35 War Is Boring debacle... I find it interesting that the F-16 was supposedly maneuvering with its 2 drop tanks, while the F-35 was flying clean.
  15. I think the article is written using layperson's language that often times groups concepts like jamming and passive stealth technologies together. It does make it clear that the breakthrough is with a system that can "detect and image" objects. It raises the theoretical possibility that it can be "jammed" by intercepting and modifying the photons emitted by the scanner. Doing so changes the quantum information of the photon thus making the detector aware that someone is trying to spoof things. This is part of the "Observer effect" in physics, where any interaction (including passive observation) changes the particle.
  16. New quantum imaging techniques will make stealth obsolete: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2249392/The-unjammable-quantum-radar-make-present-generation-stealth-technology-obsolete.html tl;dr version: MIT researchers using the quantum properties of photons (light particles) to detect stealthy objects, and said objects ability to fool the detector.
  17. Anyone else watching Aldonah Zero? Style wise it greatly reminds me of RahXephon. Good mecha action, good character drama, grittiness, and none of the Sunrise-mecha silliness. It's also authored by Gen Urobuchi, of Mahou Shojou Madoka and Fate Zero fame. Main op song by Kalafina. What else can you ask for??? Highly recommend it!
  18. Get ready to be even more comfortable next time you fly third clas... I mean coach. http://www.thejournal.ie/new-airbus-seats-like-saddles-1575471-Jul2014/
  19. F-35 will be a no show at Farnborough: http://www.bbc.com/news/business-28321023
  20. lol... So what exactly is the business Harmony Gold is in nowadays? I see from their website they do some real estate, own the right for a few movies no one's heard of, and have a theater. Total entertainment powerhouse right there.
