Everything from the government experienmenting on aliens for research to the egg layer, the holes melted into the ground... IMO, Macross Frontier episode 13 is the only production I've seen that actually does the Alien/Aliens concept justice. And the funny thing is Ridley and Co. are probably only vaguely aware of the astounding influence Blade Runner has had on anime, if at all. I don't remember anything about it being mentioned in the extras that I watched. And yet, nearly every 80's science fiction anime had some aspects influenced by it. Radd Posted July 5, 2008 Share Posted July 5, 2008 Er...while I'll grant there's some broad similarities, I think it's a bit much to say it's a rehash of Aliens, especially with so much yet to be revealed. So far though, I can't recall multiple government/corporate entities in Alien, one of whom was trying to ensure war between the humans and aliens.
