Valkyrie addict Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 they're remaking Karate Kid?! WTF?! can't people come up with something new anymore? so I guess in a couple of years we could get a life action adaptation remake of Shrek!! (which is a basicly a fun praody collage of all the fairytales)
CoryHolmes Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 I don't like Akira very much, and even I have trepidations about a live-action remake. Just leave well enough alone.
Morpheus Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 they're remaking Karate Kid?! WTF?! can't people come up with something new anymore? so I guess in a couple of years we could get a life action adaptation remake of Shrek!! (which is a basicly a fun praody collage of all the fairytales) Didn't we already have Disaster Movie and its siblings?
vermillion01 Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 More Akira news... and surprise... it isn't all terrible! AKIRA NEWS
Wes Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Well The Day the Earth Stood Still trailer is playing on TV, 12 Dec release.
Morpheus Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 More Akira news... and surprise... it isn't all terrible! AKIRA NEWS Interesting, but I don't care about the setting, as long they stay true to the manga with exploding heads and badass motorbike it will be fine.
Einherjar Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Live action Voltron news ...and I'll form the lawsuits!
Mr March Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 More Akira news... and surprise... it isn't all terrible! AKIRA NEWS Not bad. It's definitely an ambitious project and will make for a really challenging production. Guess we'll learn how it pans out eventually.
taksraven Posted November 24, 2008 Author Posted November 24, 2008 Remake of the 1985 british tv series Edge of Darkness on the way. Starring MEL GIBSON!!! D'OH!!!! The original series was a total product of the Cold War and the Thatcher era in Britain. God only knows what the Yanks will do with it. (No offence intended to Americans here, of course) Taksraven
bsu legato Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 Remake of the 1985 british tv series Edge of Darkness on the way. Starring MEL GIBSON!!! ...and directed by Martin Campbell, remaking his own miniseries...and co-written by the guy who wrote Kingdom of Heaven and The Departed. Yes, by all means let's poo ourselves.

taksraven Posted November 24, 2008 Author Posted November 24, 2008 With every remake my hopes of the San Andreas fault severing California into the pacific and making Hollywood the new Atlantis slowly fades. Damn, I want to go to Arizona Bay. Taksraven

Yes, by all means let's poo ourselves. The original series was a total product of the Cold War and the Thatcher era in Britain. REGARDLESS of who is helming, I think that it will be impossible to replicate Cold War paranoia, unless the film is set in the 1980's. Taksraven
Agent ONE Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 Brett Ratner Commits to Conan. I dunno.. Could be good. I still like the Crown of Iron idea. I don't think Arnold will act anymore though.
VFTF1 Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 I don't think Arnold will act anymore though. He'll be back. Pete (couldn't resist:) )
taksraven Posted November 26, 2008 Author Posted November 26, 2008 I don't think Arnold will act anymore though. That statement kind of implies that he could act in the first place! Taksraven
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted November 26, 2008 Posted November 26, 2008 More Akira news... and surprise... it isn't all terrible! AKIRA NEWS Hmmm. I keep getting a malware warning window with that link. Is there any other place where I can check this out?

taksraven Posted December 3, 2008 Author Posted December 3, 2008 Planet of the Apes remake? Looks like another attempt to avoid the remake tag. Good luck. http://www.darkhorizons.com/news08/081202b.php Taksraven
lord_breetai Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Live action Voltron news ...and I'll form the lawsuits! This is interesting, so they are saying WEP owns the animation but not the rights to make spin-off movies and such pretaining to it... this reminds me of something...
taksraven Posted December 3, 2008 Author Posted December 3, 2008 This is interesting, so they are saying WEP owns the animation but not the rights to make spin-off movies and such pretaining to it... this reminds me of something... I have to admit, that "And I'll form the lawsuits.." line is VERY funny. Taksraven
ruskiiVFaussie Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 (edited) Yeah nice one. Really intersted in how a Voltron movi would be like, hope it's nothing like PowerRangers, Spose they'll make a Zoids live action movie down the track as well? (robotic tigers and the likes...) Obvious appeal to the youngsters and toy sales. Edited December 3, 2008 by ruskiiVFaussie
big F Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Yeah nice one. Really intersted in how a Voltron movi would be like, hope it's nothing like PowerRangers, Spose they'll make a Zoids live action movie down the track as well? (robotic tigers and the likes...) Obvious appeal to the youngsters and toy sales. May be one day Hollywood will dream up a kids film that they can make toys from...... Yah I know I'm dreaming that'll never happen. I know they can only do films to promote toy lines.
kanedaestes Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Just put out yesterday, Fox is remaking "Romancing the Stone".
