jenius Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 I never heard about that meteor buster and I don't read Japanese Is it possible that that thing just won a magazine contest as a fan-made custom? It definitley looks like a custom to me, it's hard to imagine they made a bunch of them and gave them out as prizes. I understand the black CC Valk, 'cause it was just molded and assembled all black... this thing looks like quite a bit of work.
Dante74 Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 I'm with you on that assumption Jenius. There are 3 three credit card valk in the world and all a MW knows about them. If 16 or 20 of these Meteor Busters were in existence we would definitely know about them.
zeo-mare Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 i very much want this armor set for my valk.
armentage Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 The color scheme reminds me much of the the Orguss "Ish-kick" kit that Revell had back in the 80s as part of their Robotech line!

I can only vaguely remember what i read, but i know that i got that image from here and that i also read about it only here. I really don't think it was a custom, i really thought i read that there were a certain number allotted to the magazine to give out as prizes and that the paint scheme was designed by Shoji himself? I'm not trying to come up with this as i go along just trying to remember what i read. I'm sure somebody else remembers this?

areaseven Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 (edited) The Fast Pack 'arms' are obviously different too, not just in color. Stop quoting pics, skull001. Edited November 28, 2006 by areaseven
Wicked Ace Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 (edited) You know as the OP David Hingtgen put it in the title thread, i think this new GBP design would actually go pretty nicely with the Meteor Busters paint scheme. Since i'm at work i don't have a pic, but from what i remember i think it would be a nearly perfect fit. Too bad none of us actually own one... at least an original that is. EDIT: Forgot i had it in my photobucket album. Hmm, that doesn't exactly fit like i thought it would. I thought i remember it being light gray throughout in valk mode, ahh well. Damn that's a cool paint scheme! Edited November 27, 2006 by Wicked Ace
areaseven Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 (edited) Damn that's a cool paint scheme! Yes it is. Edited November 27, 2006 by areaseven
Veritas Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Damn that's a cool paint scheme! Yes it is. I guess you're doing this to prove a point or draw attention to yourself or pad your post count? But it's just too easy. STOP QUOTING PICS!
Wicked Ace Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 I guess you're doing this to prove a point or draw attention to yourself or pad your post count? But it's just too easy. STOP QUOTING PICS! Since we're both quoted (sort of) are you referring just to A7 or both of us?
areaseven Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Since we're both quoted (sort of) are you referring just to A7 or both of us? Whoever still has pics quoted on their post.
Wicked Ace Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Whoever still has pics quoted on their post. Ah. I don't know about you, but I'm still trying to decide if I'm: 1.) trying to prove a point; 2.) draw attention to myself; or 3.) trying to pad my post count.
jenius Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Well I was kinda diggin' seein' my gratuitous picture post over and over again. If anybody wants to see more pics visit my website mmmmkay?
Veritas Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Ah. I don't know about you, but I'm still trying to decide if I'm: 1.) trying to prove a point; 2.) draw attention to myself; or 3.) trying to pad my post count. That first part was actually directed at AreaSeven since he usually just tells ppl. to stop quoting pics, but he took it upon himself to requote the pics which he's never done before as far as i know. He's deleted the requotes though so that's fine. The second part was directed at everyone heh, i really didn't need to see 3 of the same picture on every page. I don't really mind well ppl. pic. quote from a page before, but otherwise it can get annoying. It looks like everyone got the message.
Scream Man Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 really? I like it even more there. It looks better on the 1J as well.
ShadowerV2 Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 It's the green bit. That feels out of place.
kensei Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 Nah. Not too crash hot at all. It's the valk.
eugimon Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 It's the green bit. That feels out of place. I agree, the green seems random and distracting.
skull001 Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 It's the green bit. That feels out of place. Agreed. Urban camo.. with green?
kensei Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 It matches with the pines down in Central Park.
jenius Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 So which picture is right? The one with or without the green? GRAHAM, inquiring minds want to know... and want to hear NO Green. Honestly though, after getting the GBPII I thought it was entirely too plain looking and that the Lime green everyone complained about in pictures (including myself) actually might have helped.
ghostryder Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 Looks to be the same dark olive drab color, just significantly different lighting/background cast. I dig it, more than the previous GBPs, but it won't really match any stock 1/48.
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 What's with Yamato and their green valks? It looked so nice in the first pictures. Come on, Yamato. Noone likes the green. Save some money and leave it out.
do not disturb Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 all it took was a couple days and it got even uglier.
Chet Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 I don't understand what Yamato is trying to do with this color scheme. Maybe its a test shot using multi-colored left over plastic?
jenius Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 You can tell from the back booms that this is definitely different from the one shown.
dafunguy Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 The Yamato pics doesn't really look any different from the pics on the first page. All the colors look to be the same. Must be just the lighting. Still looks good to me, because I'm impress with the somewhat complicated paint scheme. Lets face it, they could of just gave us a simple boring repaint, but instead they made it look like a cool customized work.
jenius Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 No no, the back boom has on the valk's left, our right, has definitely gone from gray to green unless there is some real funky lighting there.
Ignacio Ocamica Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 Please guys, tell where the difference is cause I see the same three colors and the same cammo. Only the green appears to be darker but that's just the lighting
Scream Man Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 i didnt notice the green till it was mentioned, but they're right its definitely there.
aaajin Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 guess in the early pictures the green is more subtle...but its definitely green, but the kind that blends quite well with the other grey parts
Veritas Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 Is it just me or did they change the color of the shoulder missile pod covers as well? From gray to almost white? I can't tell 100% because the covers are open in the second pic., but they def. look lighter.
