Twoducks
I was trying to figure out what you guys were talking about, but then I saw the news that Solid Snake will be in the Wii Super Smash Brothers games...Hell has indeed froze over... 398684 I wouldn't say that. Apparently, Kojima has wanted Snake in Smash Bros for a long time now and had asked too late for him to be included in Melee. So he got his wish for this next game. Now we need Mega Man and a Belmont (I'm sure Team Sonic is there). 398955 With Pit already in if you add those two and a giant Gameboy we could have "Captain N: The Game Master Melee"
JB0
Could definately see them bringing back Punch Out for the Wii. 398813 I'd flat out LOVE to see a Punch-Out game which used the motion-sensing capabilities of the Wiimote. Come to think of it, I am also praying that some very smart person at Sega has thought "Hey... how about a new Samba de Amigo?" 398875 That brings back dissapointing memmories of Punch Ouch and the Power Glove 398898 Except THIS time the game would actually SUPPORT the controller, instead of the controller emulating an 8-way, 4-button gamepad. Gunbuster
well, e3 2006 finally ended today at 4pm Nintendo stole the show with the Wii and the awesome DS line up (even steven spielberg was playing with the Wii ) The ps3 was a total disappointment (beside Metal Gear 4 trailer, the only other game seem interesting was heavenly sword which looks like a God of War for the ps3) 360 got a good show with Gears of Wars, N3, Lost planet, Rising Dead..and many others) This is going to be a great year for both Nintendo and Microsoft

promethuem5
I watched the H3 trailer and yeah, kinda boring and worthless.... prety, but all flash and glitter and no substance.... JB0
Shot in the dark here, but has any good Metal Gear Solid info gotten out? I heard about a trailer but couldn't find it... 399107 Snake's old. There's a lot of mecha stomping around. Snake provides some narrator crap about corporations controlling everything, even the thoughts of the soldiers, and how war has changed to a business. Raiden is back as an effiminate cyborg. Snake repeats "War has changed." about a dozen times. Otacon, Naomi, and Meryl are back. Snake goes all emo and angsts about how he has no place in the world and sticks a gun in his mouth*. Screen turns red. MGS4 logo flashes up. *And this won't make it into the final game any more than any of the previous trailer scenes have.

Twoducks
Two interesting articles about the videogame industry and the next generation consoles:http://www.pointlesswasteoftime.com/games/manifesto.html http://www.pointlesswasteoftime.com/games/fanboy.html While I don't agree with everything, some valid points are made. 398458 I forgot to post this article (which was the one I liked more). It's been updated since the E3: http://www.pointlesswasteoftime.com/games/crash.html Some things are exaggerated but I see myself reflected in most of this article. Every passing year I play less and find little reasons to look forward to new stuff. It just feel like we've hit a wall in videogames. The mayor advances are in graphics, but there a moments when you just don't get the "Wow!" reaction you used to have anymore and just get a “that’s it?â€. My friends are also abandoning videogames. I remember we had tournaments of Street Fighter and Konami's ISS Soccer among other multiplayer games, and when we went to Internet Cafes to play Counter Strike and Day of Defeat like nuts. Then one day we stopped playing (and the same way arcades are but gone here where I live, places that specialise in LAN gaming are going extinct). Now we all have internet connections but we've never played an online game against ourselves. When I played online by my self, it didn't feel the same to be blasting some faceless individual as it did when your friends were mere feet away from you. That got boring quickly. World of Warcraft has been the best online experience I've had. I like the cooperation aspect and also being able to do go alone if I feel like it. The problem is that I don't have the time MMORPGs require. If my friends gave it a go then that little time would be worth it but we are all busy now. So after the initial addiction, I find myself not playing anymore. What little time I have nowadays to play games I spend on old emulated arcade and console videogames. The next gen looks pretty but it isn't the SNES to N64 or PSX pretty. The Wii is the only thing that's getting my attention, but I don't know how much the whole control thing will last for me (the game that I find more interesting, Melee, doesn't use the new controller). If they drop the price on the Game Cube I might get one… but I just don’t have the time anymore. You guys feel the same way? Responsibilities, girlfriend and work leaving you too with no time to play? Are you just plain bored? I feel old
Radd
Eh, again the guy makes some points, and makes some comments that seem to contradict even a basic understanding of reality. I do believe the basic premise is correct, you can improve the graphics all you like, but if you don't present new gameplay people will eventually get bored. Nintendo seems to be the only major company honestly considering this possibility, and that seems to have proven a gold mine to them if sales of the DS, and their showing at E3 say anything. As for me, do I find myself gaming less than I did in my younger days? Yes and no. I game very little at home nowadays, my Gamecube collects dust, except when I have a bunch of people over for gaming. The fact that it has so many multiplayer and party games is really what makes it the only current gen console worth getting for me. However, I've been gaming out of the house pretty regularly for years now. Never so much as after the Nintendo DS finally started getting a solid library about a year ago. These days, my DS goes with me wherever I go. On the bus, at work (it's good to be the supervisor), at Denny's, at the drive-in when the crappy romantic comedy comes on, waiting in line at the bank, at the store, and most certainly on those rare occaissions I make it out to conventions. Whether I'm in the mood for good oldschool gaming fun like Castlevania or Mario, or when I'm looking for something new like Trauma Centre or Animal Crossing, there is plenty on the DS to keep me more excited about games than I've been since the NES, Genesis, and SNES days. Out of the next gen consoles, pretty graphics just don't do it for me anymore. I'd almost certainly skip out on them all if that was all this coming generation offered, but Nintendo's machine looks fun. Also, not because I dislike Sony, but it would be nice to see them lose their top dog position for at least a generation, a more level playing field would generate more competition and more incentive to improve gaming between all the major console developers. My biggest hope right now is that the Wii does well enough to convince both Microsoft and Sony to adopt a similar approach to gaming with whatever machines follow this new generation, and that we'll see even more improvements in that direction. Maybe even see the ghost of the Virtual Boy put to rest and forgotten long enough for a decent VR console to see the light of day.

While there've been some glaring accuracy issues from what I've heard, I think that has more to do with the implementation to date than it does the actual system. AssCatz isn't a purveyor of high-quality merchandise, and the fact that THEIR gun had issues is HARDLY proof that the XBox can't do good lightgun games. If a major player wanted to step up and make a DECENT light gun, it'd work right.

striderhiryu
I was checking for information on wikipedia and the guy who made the music for the video is final fantasy's composer Uematsu. Also i read there that there is a survey being done in japan so fans can vote for wich characters they want to see. If they were to do something similar here in america my top five would be: 1.- Sonic: Mario's long-time rival, just remember the 90's 2.- Pac-man 3.- cloud strife: he's in my opinion the most popular character in the final fantasy franchise 4.- zero, just because he is way cooler than X 5.- strider hiryu for obvious reasons of mine even tough in wikipedia they mention Master Chief i think that is pretty unlikely, however like i say: the more the better. Wes
I think other 2nd/3rd party characters would be best who've actually been on a Nintendo system. If that be the case, Soma from the recent Castlevania games would work well, he's a recent character, has a fairly unique attack lineup, and he could have an alternate Dracula-form. My one distant hope would be Roy Focker doing drunken-boxing.
