Kite Live Action Movie

Hmm. Live-action hentai. Weird.

Weirder still is the fact that people keep trying to adapt anime to live action, even though only about 5% of the current translations are any good. I guess name-recognition alone still goes a long way with the otaku crowd.

Wow, this is going to be bad. Real bad. Like Cat in the Hat live action bad. Some things should not be touched. Ultra-violent hentai that was originally less than an hour long is now going to be dragged out and made appealing to a western audience and probably made pg-13. I guess that treatment for Green Eggs and Ham isn't ready yet.

I'll admit, I didn't think Kite was that great, but c'mon Hollywood try something original or go pillage Space Gundam V.

I can't understand Hollywood at all.  They complain about diminishing crowds to theatres and yet producers keep cranking out utter crap.  When will they learn?

Well producers are morons. What they need to do is purge them. Frankly, I dont understand why they cannot thinkup their own ideas rather than copying them. Now if a show or anime inspires them, then fine by me but why copy. Last movie I saw was SW Episode 3 b/c nothing really grab my interest. Look at Aeon Flux and now BloodRayne. I am really hoping for the HALO movie to be good.

No good can come from this.

Roben Cohen, Uwe Boll, and Paul W.S. Anderson. Raping your childhoods since the late 90's.

 Kite was ok but c'mon how abou some Originality

holly-wood?

have you guys heard that some small production

houses with films in limited release will have their flix on dvd

at the same time as the movie goes into theaters.

Straight to DVD takes on slightly different meaning.

Likely direction is they will make her an 18 year old if thet continue to take advantage of her so it's legal, and only refer to the past rapings and molestation rather than show it so that they can justify her actions and play into the contributions to her current mental state.

They will gore out the movie, so it will become a cult classic, and the release will have a 1-2 week stay in thetares and go straight to DVD.

Acting will be horrible and full of unknowns with a possible stand out from the main girl or guy.

They will fill it full of rabbling dialogue cuz the original anime didn't talk all that much and the action scenes will be turned to crap. (Come on now, what are the chances that a falling set of bodies is strong enough to push a vehicle thorugh the ground?)

The guns will be ROBOCOP style.

If I happen to run into the movie by chance, I'll check itout once it clears the theatres, but inless RT gives it better than a 60%, I'm gonna avoid it like the plague.

Didn't care too much for the original anime, but that girl really was hot...

Remember that time they released a bloodrayne movie & nobody noticed?

363937

It did? Ah well...life goes on.

363940

What's funny is that's what everyone's saying upon hearing there was a Bloodrayne movie out :lol::lol:

As for Hollywood's version of Kite's story: I highly doubt it's going to be very similiar at all. LOTS of things I bet will get cut out and / or Westernized.

I bet Sawa's... umm... ******* abuse will get omitted entirely.

Kite? What is that? I've never heard of it. Oh wait let me guess: It's a story about a young or young-ish girl in school, who wears cute little outfits, doesn't talk much, has a fraked up past, no familiy, and is an EXPERT killer, right?

-Hollywood isn't the only entertainment medium that lacks originality. There's another thread here somewhere about how most of us have lost the urge to watch new anime, and the lack of originality or anything groundbreaking is the problem.

As a matter of fact, I'm going to start my own anime franchise. The story will begin with a spaceship that appears from seemingly nowhere and crashlands in the Pacific Ocean, as the world is destroying itself in a brutal world war, sometime in the year.................

I don't get it. Wouldn't  live action hentai just be porn...

363430

Pretty much. And the Canadians would hate it because it would be like child porn for them. :p

363969

You probably haven't watched La Blue Girl live action.

And i kid u not that it exists.

Uh he isnt kidding. I haven't watched it, but I have seen it being sold at Anime Expo. :p

We should all get together and make a movie that people like us who biotch and complain about the newer released stuff (anime, movies, manga, games you name it) sucks, would happily go see.

Or we can make a movie about AgentOne fighting deadites, hippies, and his quest against Macross 7.

Lol Make a movie about how Hollywood sucks and only comes up with crappier and crappier ideas for movies.

Although a Macross live-action movie could be done with the sfx possible now, I don't know if I would really want to see it considering how a lot of recent stuff kind of sucks.

It exists and so does so many other LA hentai animes, problem is they aren't as good as the animes IMO and that isn't saying much.

Sorta not really. It's kind of like Leon, The Professional, except the crooked cop raises the girl.

Basically, crooked cop murders a girl's parents, makes up an investigation to find the "real killers" and then adopts the girl, rapes her regularly while training her to be an assassin. Maybe it's technically hentai because it has pretty graphic sex scenes, but it's not -porn-. The rape scenes are VERY uncomfortable. It's a very dark, screwed up action movie. The child abuse angle is hard to take, but pretty essential to what makes Kite Kite. She had a family, but her adoptive father killed them, so I guess that counts as a "fraked up past", too. You're right -- it's not totally original. It owes a lot to Leon and La Femme Nikita, but the child abuse thing is where it's different and that's an interesting twist on the assassin formula I hadn't seen before.

Also the character designs are in Umetsu's usual style, which means very realistic compared to most anime, which also makes it more uncomfortable. Really stylish action, but if you get turned on by the rape scenes, you've got issues.

The sex scenes aren't really distrubing. But thsoe scenes are there to make you sympathize with the Sawa-character. She's treated like a dog. Sit, Stay, Frak me. Even if she says no, they still force her. The child rape scenes are there just to give you the idea that this has been going on for a while.

With stuff with girls and guns and sex/nudity/BOOBIES/innuendo, I'm surprised no one has picked up Gunsmith Cats to utterly trash into a westernized movie. I'm actually glad that no one has because the characters would be butchered BAD.

I'm also glad that Bubblegum Crisis hasn't been picked up. Contracts and stuff were being signed for the rights to do an Akira live action a few years ago, but I havent heard of anything since then. Don't ask which companies because I don't know.
