  1. Airwolf Belisarius Productions/Universal Pictures, 1984-1986, 2005 Created by Donald P. Bellisario (Magnum P.I., JAG) Running Time: 55 minutes per episode (110 minutes for the pilot episode) Rated TV-PG for violence and mature situations. CastJan-Michael Vincent as Stringfellow Hawke Ernest Borgnine (1917-2012) as Dominic Santini Alex Cord as Michael 'Archangel' Coldsmith Briggs III Lowdown A private organization known as "The Firm" has developed the ultimate military weapon. Codenamed "Airwolf," this sleek helicopter is capable of flying at speeds in excess of Mach 1 and is armed with the most sophisticated and lethal weaponry ever developed. However, things go wrong when Airwolf's creator destroys the Firm's headquarters and runs off with the helicopter. Three months later, ace pilot Stringfellow Hawke is recruited by the Firm's chief Archangel to travel to Libya and recover Airwolf. In exchange, Archangel will help Hawke locate his brother St. John, who has been missing in action for over 14 years. In addition, Hawke brings in his old friend Dominic Santini to aid him on his mission. They have less than 48 hours to bring Airwolf out of Libya, if they don't want an all-out war to occur. And so begins the legend of Airwolf - a tale of espionage and pulse-pounding action involving a customized Bell 222 helicopter. Jan-Michael Vincent delivers a no-nonsense role as the show's antihero Hawke. Shortly after Hawke takes Airwolf with him, he keeps it away from the Firm's grasp. In exchange for more clues to his brother's whereabouts, Hawke and Santini embark on more dangerous missions - many of them involving the Soviet forces. Sadly, like many top TV shows in the '80s, Airwolf met its demise within its third season. Vincent developed personal problems to the point where he was kicked out of the show. As a result, the cast was completely revamped and the show went completely downhill. But now, you can relive the glory of the show's first season in a two-disc DVD set. The 11 episodes in the set may look pretty grainy and the audio is still in mono, but hey - $29.99 (Best Buy price) for 10 hours ain't too bad. If you grew up watching Airwolf, then go get this DVD. And while you're at it, save up for the 1/48 diecast. Rating: B+ DVD Extras: F If Universal gave Miami Vice and Knight Rider the royal treatment, why not Airwolf? 2. I'm wondering does anyone else watch this? I've been an avid comic fan for years and years, the Emerald Archer has always had a soft spot in my heart, I was a bit worried when this was initially announced, it gave me vibes that it could end up being as god-awful The Cape, I just didn't think a mainstream DC character could translate well to weekly television. Obviously we're in season 2 now and literally all my fears drowned away early on in season 1, season 2 has been downright phenomenal. Last weeks episode was obviously titled "Suicide Squad", which if you're familiar with DC, may sound familiar to you, along with a BIG cameo/easter egg appearance from one Clown Prince of crime's girlfriend, another well established member of the Suicide Squad. I believe Arrow has been doing a consistent job at adapting some big DC characters to the silver screen, this second season has been revealing more and more characters that are hinting at a much larger connected world, lots of different story threads going that I am familiar with, and yet I can't wait to actually see play out on TV. Arrow has been doing so well they even got to introduce Barry Allen, aka The Flash recently, who is now getting his own pilot and series that is set to air back to back with Arrow, making a two hour block of weekly DC goodnes.

  5. This isn't breaking news but it IS something I'm looking forward to. with a ton of creative talent , and the budget Netflix can bring forth, I am expecting all 10 episodes to satisfy. I just hope the writers they've chosen can pull it off..
  6. "The missions of the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ySsw-6aetys Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. @IMDb Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. @facebook Rising Tide viral site: We Are The Rising Tide|We Are The Rising Tide ( for fun content )
  7. I've always had an appreciation for zombie movies. Romero movies or World War Z by Max Brooks have been my faves in the genre. Now AMC is taking to TV another story based on a series of graphic novels. Looks like we'll be seeing a Jericho type show except instead of nukes, we get zombies! The Walking Dead-AMC Premieres on Halloween...I'm looking forward to it.
  8. Rather than post separate threads about newer individual series, here's the super thread for tokusatsu TV series past and present, from Super Sentai to Kamen Rider, Ultraman, and more. To begin, here's the current lineup of tokusatsu shows in Japan: Shuriken Sentai Ninninger (手裏剣戦隊ニンニンジャー) is the 39th Super Sentai series, having premiered on February 22, 2015. It is the third series to use a ninja motif (after 1994's Ninja Sentai Kakuranger and 2002's Ninpuu Sentai Hurricaneger). It looks so much better than Ressha Sentai ToQger, but that's not saying much. The series is scheduled to be replaced by the 40th anniversary Super Sentai series this February. Fuka-chan... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KIcpISHtnLk Kamen Rider Ghost (仮面ライダーゴースト) is the 26th Kamen Rider series, having replaced Kamen Rider Drive on October 4, 2015. Attempting to capitalize on the popularity of Yo-Kai Watch, Kamen Rider Ghost uses a ghost and supernatural motif. The suit looks like leftovers from Kamen Rider Wizard and Kamen Rider Kiva. Ultraman X (ウルトラマンX(エックス)) is the 24th in Tsuburaya Productions' Ultra Series, having premiered on July 14, 2015. It is the first tokusatsu series to have a worldwide simulcast, with U.S. viewers accessing it through Crunchyroll.

  10. Okay, I don't mean to start a new thread about GOT5, but I swear to God that there were two perfectly good threads here a few weeks ago, what the hell happened? I did a search and nothing came up, but then again, I don't have a lot of faith in the Search function here. Anyway, if the threads haven't magically vanished into fat air, please point me in the right direction and Mods, feel free to close this one. I've been avoiding it like the plague so no chance of spoilers, but I finally went on a bender and watched the whole thing this weekend. Here are my thoughts and since all episodes are out, no need for spoiler alerts right? I thought Melissandra (The Red Witch?) actually had some power there, wtf happened, lol! The only thing I have for Stannis: I almost felt bad for Cercei for a bit when she was in jail and doing the walk of shame, only because I dont particularly care for religions, but it was easy to remember what a cow she was at the end. Im guessing the High Sparrow and the not-so-silent sister will have a bad time when the Mountain gets a hold of them. Really not liking Ramsay Snow/Bolton, hope he gets his whatfor in the near future. I still like Jaimie and Bronn Briennes cool, heard shes going to be in Star Wars VII. Sansa and Theon commit suicide together? I miss the Hound. I liked how Arya got some revenge there, but that thing about her going blind, wtf, I dont think she deserved that. I hear her vision will be restored though, just part of her Jedi training like Luke and the helmet with the blast shield down. Love how she has a hit-list. Reminds me of Hit-Girl from Kickass. I feel like Daeneryss pace has slowed to a grinding halt. I think it was a bad move for her to set up shop in that city. She should have just kept going like she was before, go in, free the slaves, and ask whoever wanted to freely join her army, to do so and leave the city. Jon Snow - I cant believe they killed him off, I mean, I sort of can because its Game of Thrones, but holy, they really pulled a Julius Caesar number on him. All that foreshadowing with Melisandre calling him special(maybe shell bring him back?), the eye-to-eye he had with the white walkers, the fact that he killed a white walker boss..there was a big wtf when it happened, lol!
  11. Wasn't sure if there was a specific Westworld topic, but since the first trailer for season 3 just dropped before the last episode of Game of Thrones, thought I post this: I'm looking forward to it, but 2020 is still a way's away.

  13. Harry Anderson, the actor, comedian and magician best known for playing Judge Harry Stone on the sitcom Night Court, died Monday at his home in Asheville, North Carolina. He was 65. (more) https://www.rollingstone.com/tv/news/harry-anderson-night-court-actor-dead-at-65-w519223
  14. There's enough interest from some in this site on the ongoing Monogatari series for it to have it's own thread and thereby keep it from monopolizing other threads. Let's keep it all here, TV series, films, novels and those fine looking 1/8 Senjougahara PVC figures too.
  15. This thread is for people to discuss Game of Thrones OPENLY and actually enjoy themselves. This is to celebrate the works of GRRM and the creation of the Game of Thrones TV show that came from those works. The show is 98.9% caught up to the books, and the latest book might not be out for another 6 months or so. Season 5 is also over so if you haven't seen it - don't post here if you wish to stay spoiler free. As many fans are TV show only and will never read the massive book series, it's always helpful for them to get background information when they request it, and this is a place to do it. Scope: Feel free to discuss the books. All books related to A Song of Ice and Fire. The show. All 5 seasons. What the show has left out and changed from the books. GRRM vs the Double D's. Tinfoil theories and SPOILERS. Speculation of the ending. This thread is for open discussion, so if you come here you have already seen all the episodes and read all the books, or don't care about spoilers. No spoiler tags needed. If you don't want to be spoiled - don't post here or read this thread. It's really just that simple. Now that that is out of the way - if you want to catch up on the theories this is an excellent place to start: https://www.youtube.com/user/JaiWbio ALT SHIFT X on youtube compiles most of the major book/show theories into very helpful and visual videos. Here is a cool article about enjoying spoilers: http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2015/06/14/game-of-thrones-spoilers-why-they-re-a-good-thing.html
  16. Through all the doom and gloom of Marvel Comics writting out mutants because of Fox, Marvel TV is now co-producing a new X-Men tv show. Will this show feature crossovers with AoS or Netflix Marvel? If that happens this could be huge. Fingers crossed http://www.cnet.com/news/x-men-marvel-tv-show-coming-fox/ http://nypost.com/2016/07/13/fox-is-developing-an-x-men-tv-series/
  17. http://hbowatch.com/category/american-gods/ I met Neil at a comic convention many years ago and I got my first issue of Sandman signed by him. I've read most of his comics and novels and enjoyed just about all of them. I've always considered it a tragedy that none of his works have made it to the silver screen, but I think this will be the best treatment we can get with HBO. Any thoughts on who would play Shadow?

  21. OK, c'mon. Everybody has a guilty pleasure. Something that you enjoy but you know that if others knew about this pleasure you could very easily be mocked. It might be a TV show, film, a song, a musical artist, a certain type of toy, Emma Watson, whatever. Time fo 'fess up. MY guilty pleasure at the moment is La Roux (which I have previously admitted to, I know.) Strange music with backing instrumentation that sounds like it is coming out of a C64, but I think its great stuff anyway. So c'mon. What do you like that you shouldn't. ONE rule - No mocking or nastiness here. This is just a place to clear one's conscience. Taksraven
