Ok, that's really awesome. I love it. I might have to get one myself.- 9344 replies

So, I actually got this announcement from BBTS through my email, and they are charging twice as much. YEEEESH. Not sure if I want to grab a pair at HLJ, I feel like I've got enough of the 171 versions scattered around (sometimes literally, like shrapnel ) I think I'd be a lot more interested if they transformed.

I'm less interested in repainting or stripping anything permanently, so I probably wouldn't touch that part, but I might have two copies of each. Or maybe I'll just print myself a couple to work on. 🤔

I'd really just be happier if things like this were never limited at all. I can understand production limits, and having to manage factories, but arbitrarily limiting an item to induce a sense of collectability in it just feels unfitting for something of this nature. It's a toy.. and you're limiting who gets to enjoy it? Why?- 2542 replies

See, that makes me want to do it even more.. it's those things where I buy a thing that's close to what I want, and they release the actual thing right afterward. Really starts screwing with my sense of causality.

I'm not feeling like I need more than one just yet, but I think I might try and get two more on release if they're available. I'm thinking of what I can do with a few extra sets of the packs, and realized that I could entirely fix Bandai's "choices" on the HMR M&M super packs... give them the right arm packs, and swap out all of those weird white parts with the green ones.

I don't think initial demand for those was quite so high, but the market was also just recovering from Bandai's first failed attempt at a transformable VF-25. Alto's and Ozma's VF-25s came before the current pre-order insanity had even begun, and were pretty easy to place an order for, because Ozma's pre-order came before Alto's release, so no one had any way to guess at the quality of this second attempt. Since orders for the armor packs also were around that time, it's possible they really didn't get much demand. (It was also before international shops even really started offering those sorts of web-exclusives, so many of us here had to rely on bulk orders placed by very generous forum members located in Japan.) However.. even after seeing what hot items the VF-25s were later, and even reissuing Ozma's VF-25S multiple times, they never revisited those armor packs, despite prices for them climbing steadily into orbit. It always felt like they were being willfully oblivious to the demand for those packs, since they were such an absolutely iconic part of Ozma's valk, and to the series of Frontier as a whole. I am happy to see KC re-evaluating the demand for this one though. I just hope they don't attract any ugly attention from other companies on the international market. It doesn't have any obviously infringing markings at least.. though I'm sure those will be very easy to acquire, for those who want them.- 2542 replies

Unless it's the VF-25 armor packs. Despite being in practically every episode of Frontier, and used on Ozma's valk in almost every episode, if you didn't buy those from the first day, you are pretty much SOL. I really wouldn't mind getting one of these, just in a scale that actually went with anything else I already have.- 2542 replies

I'm just crossing my fingers that they don't goof up the feet like they did with the DX release. Easier to make scratch-built ones for a kit at least, but still annoying to need to.

Nah, because I don't want to deal with taking apart anything suffering from Bandai's fetish for superglue. If I'm going to paint something, it's going to be something I can take apart easily, and even better if it's not even assembled to begin with.- 2542 replies

Yeah.. that's.. just way out of the range of what I'd want to pay for something like this. That's.. actually more than I paid for my Arcadia VE-1 PF release. It's a fun subject, but I don't have any particular attachment to the old VF-1 Jetfire that makes this a must-have for me. I'd probably just paint up one of my VF-1S kits in the scheme instead, since I have a couple still unopened.- 2542 replies

Yeah, I'm still waiting on them to send me my second Mirage 31AX. They don't seem interested in getting around to filling orders on any sort of schedule, so I'm not feeling obliged to give them any more money. To be fair, I haven't directly contacted them, because I'm in no rush, and I'm conducting an experiment to see how long they actually take with no reminder. The Hayate release was a month late or so, but it arrived without any other issues, so I'm interested to get a hard number on how much longer they're taking now.

Ok, I know it's just a massive pile of obvious nostalgia bait, but I cannot ever not get chills from the First Contact soundtrack.

Funny, it's almost like the original reversed modex was a mistake... On the other hand though, "Sdrib Legna" sounds vaguely Slavic. I kind of want markings for a team of Sv-51s with those markings now.

Hopefully something easy to edit, but I believe you might have your control stick in backwards in the cockpit. Looking absolutely awesome though, love all the small details and options you've included. -
Really hope they overproduce this one, because I could use.. oh, about ten sets of the super packs. Would really prefer they just release them separately, but I've pretty much given up hope of ever getting a decent supply of the packs for the rest of my HMRs.
-
I mean, sure, I like those ghosts enough to pick up a pair. Will I mount them on the 31? Probably not, that looks obnoxious.
-
I don't think I can honestly say I've ever cared about paintschemes being canon in the first place. Some of my favorite schemes are ones made up by fans. My issue is that all of these new "celebratory" markings Bandai and Arcadia like to slap on their valks tend to be ducking fugly. Can we just have something that looks good?
-
Seriously, all I want are the packs to install on all the other valks I already have. Why is that so hard for Bandai? It's like they have some sort of manufactured scarcity fetish for their own products.

That might actually be the most streamlined Skyfire I've seen yet in .. ship(?) mode. It's just so clean. I've never even liked the design in the first place, because the winged backpack deal never did it for me, but that might be the best-looking one on the market.- 9344 replies

I would probably chalk that up to there being really nothing unique about any of these, and the fact that the issues with the mold seem both well-known, and almost entirely random. I can't say they're anywhere near as bad as the 171s, but this is probably the most lemony release they've had since that point.
