    Yeah, I think that the "Film isn't out be we are greenlighting a sequel" is also a confidence building activity for the studio, trying to impress the potential audience by effectively saying "we want you to think that this film is so good and we are so confident with it that we are making another". I think such announcements were made for Tron 2 AND Green Lantern, but not much has happened since on either.....

    Don't get me wrong, despite the fact it is flawed I still consider The Black Hole to be a *vastly* underrated film. I think that Event Horizon also missed out on being a true classic, just didn't quite work out.....

    I think that there will always be a place for the "flawed" science fiction film. To me, one of the best examples of this is the "nearly great" The Black Hole. A lot of the concepts and imagery in this film were outstanding and very very dark, especially for a Disney film at the time. Overall, however, it didn't quite make it. Too bad. Prometheus is much worse, though..

    Bah, Lucas and his cronies are deceptive at the least, outright liars at the worst. I wouldn't waste my time readying any of their press. It is not "news" and all we are going to get is conjecture until the trailers come out.....

    I will bet that these "spin off" films will just use resources (scripts, whatever.....) that were prepared for the vapourware SW TV series. (IF any actual work went into the show.......)

    The Grissom is was the biggest pussy in the Star Trek universe...... Bah, nerdrage. The really silly part was the "eject the warp core" bit and about fifty of them pop out.

    They did a new version of Captain Scarlet a few years ago. It was pretty good but barely anybody saw it due to scheduling problems in the UK. Well worth a look and if the new Thunderbirds could match the production values, it might be good..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3JBnRh8OCc

    Does anybody know if the 48fps will be available on the blu-ray version or is the technology only compatible with the cinema version?

    Didn't Yoda say that once a Jedi strayed down the path of the Dark Side, they could never escape it, or something to that effect. ( I know that Vader kinda proved Yoda and Ben wrong by killing the Emperor) But still, Luke certainly dabbled with the Dark Side in his final confrontation with Vader. Maybe Luke should become the villain in the third trilogy.

    I don't know why we are bitching and moaning about the original and prequel trilogy here when this is supposed to be about episodes 7,8 and 9. Considering the fact that the first *six* films were the story of anakin skywalker/darth vader, where can they take it from there?
