  1. Just came home from the cinema. I thought it was good. Way better than The Last Jedi (even if that doesn't actually say much), but maybe not quite as enjoyable as Rogue One was too me. The biggest flaw I could find is that I think the climax could have been bigger in scale and scope, but maybe I'm just spoiled by Rogue One's epic Battle of Scarif. Then one could get fixed on that they guy playing Han is not the best fit, but I thought he did an okay job at least and I decided to just not think about it. There were quite a few fun references for the fans to pick up on throughout the movie, but it was overall more subtle than in Rogue One. But I think a lot of casual fans will be very confused over one specific extended cameo near the end of the movie.
  2. Well, it's commonly said in Sweden that the Danes need to spit out the porridge so one can understand what they say. (Why porridge? No idea.)
  3. If we allow for errors in the romanization, it could be zorn, which means anger or wrath in German. That would make Panzerzorn a pretty cool name. Gern means gladly, willingly, surely or with pleasure - it's actually a bit difficult to explain the usage in English, but it's just the same as the Swedish word gärna. I would interpret Zaubergern as something like "magic, please" as a request or someone that is happy to bring magic (but the composition of the word is a bit strange). I could not find a meaning for Elgar. Not quite true. As a Swede, I understand about 80-90% of spoken Norwegian. They basically just use a bit more old-fashioned inflections and use a higher pitch when they talk. And the Swedish spoken in southern Sweden is very close to Danish. I understand less of other Germanic languages though (except German, which I've studied a bit). I agree that German and Dutch have their distinct sounds, but the Nordic Germanic languages are actually very muddled.
  4. When I made my first order late on the first day of preorder I got order number 1020. When I made my second order yesterday, I got order number 1058. I may be wrong, but I think they started counting at 1000. It's unlikely that they got in 1000 orders in the first few hours and then only 38 afterwards in a week's time.
  5. I saw that as well. That "turd" is actually supposed to look like foam on a glass of beer. The building is a brewery.
  6. Japan already has a Statue of Liberty. https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/odaiba-statue-of-liberty It's also very close to the Gundam statue, one might add.

Yes, it did. Thanks jenius and everyone else!

So the standalone version is white? Those pics were unfortunately not very useful, the VF-1J looked just as grey as the Glaug to my eyes.

The upcoming Thunder Hummer armors have resparked my interest in the HMR VF-1, but I haven't kept track of the releases. Is there a HMR Hikaru VF-1J that is actually white and not grey and has the correct angle of the red stripes?
  10. Am I the only one who does not understand what makes the official names "cool"? They mostly seem like nonsense combination of words to me. And "Gipsy", a spelling variant of a name for the Romani people that is often seen as pejorative, combined with the word "danger"... does not give good associations with me. Especially since xenophobic rhetoric against the Romani, in which they are described as a danger to society, is on a rise in my country and most of Europe. Gipsy Avenger works better in that sense, but only just.
  11. Just came home from the cinema. The first movie is one of the best science fiction movies of the century according to me, but the second doesn't hold up as well. It felt a bit too much Marvel and too little Del Toro. Still overall pretty good though. I hope there will be a third movie.
  12. Yeah, not completely new news. Two of those games I've heard about before, but the third one was new to me. There's also another company, SolarFlare Games, that are making Robotech card games (not CCG) - one for the Macross Saga (with a planned expansion), one for The Masters Saga and one for The New Generation.
  13. O Good initative! Let's try to get some of that energy back. You can add me to the Spartas list as well. Then we're halfway there, right?
  14. Yeah, I agree with almost all these statements. It's a bit of a breather for my wallet right now (at least until the Premium SDF-1 is released). I was thinking about buying Arad's VF-31 just because I found his armor pretty cool, but since I forgot about the preorder time and will probably have to pay premium prices now, I'm hesitating. Personally, a TV SDF-1 and a VF-5000 is on the top of my wish list right now, but I will probably have to wait forever for that.
  15. You mean the pre-built models? I have all three of them. They are awesome. Highly detailed, lots of armament options, but unfortunately very fragile. I think I broke something on all three of them when trying to arm them or put them on their display stands. Larger toys would be very welcome indeed, but that will probably not happen given that the show is so old now.
  16. Too early to say definitely, but it would be a breath of fresh air IMO.
  17. Yes, it's a retcon. Which doesn't make sense. If the YT-1300 series is supposed to look like the Millennium Falcon in Solo and the drastic change in appearance later in the continuity is all due to customization and (one would have to assume) bad care... then how come there's another YT-1300 customized in the EXACT same way in RotS?
  18. As far as RPGs go, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is great on the Switch (though not as fantastic as its predecessors).
  19. Since he mentioned Fire Emblem, I assumed he meant Tactical RPG, a common classification of that type of game.
  20. An unnamed mainline Fire Emblem game (i.e not the Fire Emblem Warriors action spin-off) has been announced for a 2018 release.
  21. Yeah, YAJ is probably his best bet. But from time to time both Mandarake and Jungle add new items. They may be expensive, but not as much as eBay.
  22. Since this line is pretty old now, you will basically only find them second hand. I would recommend have a look at Yahoo Auctions Japan (you need to buy through a proxy service like From Japan or Buyee) or Mandarake.
  23. They also did those Hikaru figures in DYRL flight suits.
