  1. So those Klingons-in-all-but-name where made up by former Star Trek writers? This explains so much. As for best movie space battle ever, I would also say RotJ. But the movie Serenity has also a pretty good (but short) space battle, in my opinion. I think the one in RotS is hampered by those silly buzz droids and it lacks build-up and reasons to personally invest in it.
  2. I would prefer it as close to MSRP as possible, because even that was pricey. Now the aftermarket price is just super high. It will go down with the release of the premium version, I just don't think it's enough for my liking.
  3. Me too. I want my collection to match aesthetically, so a premium finish will not do for me. But I need a VF-0S for my Reactive Armor...

That's good. My standard Regult was very tedious to pose due to the side thrusters always spinning around.
  5. I am of the same mind. It often didn't even feel like Star Wars. I expect this movie to be equally as dividing as The Force Awakens was, but not really for the same reasons. Are there any spoiler rules? When are we allowed to discuss freely in here?
  6. But BW gave away the international merchandise rights to Tatsunoko, so BW was the wrong partner to negotiate with.
  7. I finally got my CF Orguss yesterday. I transformed him into Fighter mode and decided to put him on on the display stand. But the stand just crumbled to pieces when I tried to attach the adapter. It's completely unusable and unfixable now, and I don't really want to use the stands from the earlier releases after this experience. So I'm looking into alternatives. Any suggestions? I don't think there's a Yeti Stand for the Orgusses, unfortunately.
  8. I don't think one could say that the SV-51 (capital V, unlike the other two) was designed to primarily counter Variable Fighters. It was more multi-purpose than that. I guess an "VF Slayer" needs sufficient speed, maneuverability, weaponry, avionics and other systems to outperform enemy VFs.
  9. It looks pretty good. Better than all the Toynami offerings in the past. But with that scale, it doesn't really fit in my collection. My brother have a few 1/72 models though and might like one. It depends on the price.
  10. Not really, but we shouldn't start that debate again. Here's the appropriate thread: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/topic/44143-kitz-concept-robotech-toy-line/
  11. Doesn't this discussion belong in another thread? KitzConcept is an official licensee to Harmony Gold these days.
  12. They also didn't carry two out of three releases in the latest wave of Variable Action figures, including the new Orguss. So yeah, it can be really random.
  13. I'm holding my thumbs for the Figma.
  14. I agree with you. I'm not too fond of the stylized look and would have preferred lineart accuracy instead. Sure, they do look sleek, but they are not what I grew up with. (Plus, I can't afford or fit these in my collection, so I hold tight to any reason for not buying them.)
  15. Evolution's VF-2SS was also delayed...
  16. I think that Arcadia employee in the interview said that they were interested in making Garlands from Part III as well. I think I wait for that in that case, then they're all in the same scale. Part III is not my favorite anyway.
  17. Are we talking about a kit that can be made into any mode or just a single mode? Regardless, I am interested in one.
  18. Harmony Gold's stance has been that there's not really enough of a demand for model kits these days. (Who can blame them on that market analysis? The hobby is quite niche and Robotech is even more niche.) That stance will likely not change anytime soon. And I mean, the model kits from Hasegawa, Bandai, Wave and so on are easily available for those who want them anyway.
  19. The helicopter mode wasn't used in space. That mode was never even seen in the show, except briefly mid-transformation.
  20. Big West stopped those releases, according to this article: http://www.collectiondx.com/article/nytf09_toynami_bandai_tamashii
  21. NY 23 800 yen. https://www.nippon-yasan.com/figures/22281-megazone-23-1-24-diecast-model-garland.html

This, plus I think the HMR VF-1 has pretty bad proportions. The nose in Fighter mode is way too short. Also, tabs and grooves for holding everything together in Fighter mode is very noticable on especially the arms in the other modes. It's more of a toy than a display piece. The Yamato/Arcadia 1/60 is still the best VF-1 toy in my opinion.
  23. Order stop for an Arcadia toy after just a few minutes? That's new. Will have to keep my eyes open at NY then.
