  1. Same here. The only thing that bothers me about the 1/48 Battroid, is the glossy heatshield because the line that was painted on it for the VF-1J's can barely be seen. I don't think they even bothered to put that on the Cannon Fodder VF-1A heatshield. The heatshield on the ver. 2 1/60's is so much better.
  2. Man, I guess we can expect hell to freeze over. Never thought it would ever come out.
  3. So how limited is the Weathered Tomahawk? I see it's fetching more than $200 with shipping on eBay. That's not worth it to me. I don't even think the retail price for the regular Tomahawk is worth it. Is it somewhere along the lines of the Revoltech VF-1J Miria Exclusive limited? Not to knock samurai-monkey, but if I had known how easy these are to come by on eBay, I would have waited to get one. It's why I haven't committed to ordering one of the exclusive VF-1A TV Max's from Save. I'm thinking it's going to cost a premium to get, but not so much. Of course, since it cost more since it's a large item, maybe not as many sellers in Japan ordered as many since it also meant having to buy two of the Macross Chronicles magazines, too. Hopefully, it'll be released in numbers to satisfy all those that really want it.
  4. I have those Gundams, too. I have a loose V Gundam and the Hexa Gundam. Both yellowed pretty bad. I have one of each in their boxes, too, but I don't know if they have yellowed or not since they have been in storage.
  5. But if it's not anime-accurate, why would they do it like that? I doubt there's some design issue that prevents the legs from attaching lower. Makes these Valks look even more buglike than they already do with an abdomen-like attachment or like they're prairie-doggin' it.
  6. Can anyone confirm if Yamato is planning on doing anything else with the license? Also, not counting the VF-0S with Ghost set, did the re-release of the standalone VF-0S have the improvements like the locking feet and the improved shoulders? I see HLJ is still carrying the set, but they are backordered on the standalone one, which is the one I want, but I want one with the improvements, which is why I'm asking. Anyone get a chance to pick up the re-release and can vouch for the improvements?
  7. Dude! How about some pics?! Don't just tease us like this!
  8. That's what I would pay for one in mint condition. I haven't been looking since I've had a minty one for years, so I don't know how often they pop up on eBay. I would return it if the seller is willing to compensate you for shipping it back to them. I'm sure a mint one will pop up sooner or later with collectors unloading their old stuff to get the new stuff. And there's always the possibility that Bandai may reissue the Strike at some point further driving down the values of the old 1/55's.
  9. The notion that you have to even mess with the screws or the pin is ridiculous for the price of these toys. That's why I stopped buying these when they first come out or pre-ordering because you can never be sure with Yamato that you're getting a problem-free toy.
  10. Definitely passing on the VF-1S Focker until they release a more durable one. I hope the VF-1S Hikaru is problem-free. I just picked up a VF-1A Hikaru. Keeping my fingers crossed it's not a lemon when it arrives. Off hand, has anyone reported any problems with the -1A? I haven't seen any posts about it having the dreaded shoulder breakage yet.
  11. Yeah, it sucks that they have to start the line off with figures that are still fairly new in people's minds. Makes you wonder if they'll ever get to the classic mecha. Would be nice to see some Macross Zero figures in this line. Or Macross 7, too. I mean they already have the Macross Plus figures, which some of the Macross 7 mecha are based off of. It's not like they'd have to start from scratch to make Max/Miria's VF-22's, Blazer Valkyrie, Fire Valkyrie, and the Mac 7 VF-11.
  12. I've got the Misa in Uniform figure for auction, if anyone is interested here: http://cgi.ebay.com/Arii-Macross-Misa-Unif...id=p3911.c0.m14
  13. Definitely jumping on the Super VF-1J as I'm sure it's going to be the only way to get a set of the Super Armor Parts like Yamato did with the 1/48 version. Damn you, Yamato!
  14. If this was just a repainted 1/48 DYRL VF-1A in TV Max paint scheme, I wouldn't be so concerned about getting one, but the fact that they went as far as resculpting the head to make it SDF Macross accurate pisses me off that it's a Japanese-only mail-away exclusive.
  15. Thiis was one movie I regret not catching in the theater despite all the bad reviews and naysayers. The racing scenes would have been worth the price of admission from what I saw in the trailers. I know I would have liked it. I'll definitely be renting it though.
  16. Looks like these reissues are still plagued by the slight problem with the hatch and back part not mating properly with the chest piece in fighter mode. The hatch sits a little high and there's somewhat of a gap there as seen in the 1st and 3rd fighter mode pics.
  17. I was thinking is it possible that a side cover part could secure this hinge in its place so that it doesn't move around freely as eriku mentions?
  18. Yeah, that guy is nuts, but someone already bit the bullet. This is total bs on Yamato's part. I could see them making this a limited release like the first Low Vis to keep the numbers down, but making it a mag exclusive for Japanese collectors only is so f'ed up! Well, I guess there's always hope that they'll release a 1/60 version through normal channels.
  19. According to Rob, the VF-1J Miria was being made according to the orders received, so he's not expecting to get them until November(!).
  20. I just picked up the Revoltech YF-19 and YF-21. Love the -21. I really didn't like it when I saw the pics here on MW, but after I opened it, I changed my mind. The -19 was somewhat disappointing because of the sloppy black paint app on the guns on each side of the head. Also, one of the black arrows (right side) on the head is shorter than the other. Anybody else have sloppy paint on the head? Cool figures, but why couldn't they make them to scale with the other Macross Revoltechs?! So lame.
  21. That's pretty awesome considering it wasn't a love story like Titanic. You know hella chicks went to see that movie again and again.
  22. Love those big, gaping holes under the arms, Yamato! They really need to redesign their overpriced stands. I bought one and pretty much keep it in the straightest upward posistion since I don't trust the ratchets anymore. That and the lousy arms that provide no support whatsoever are getting looser all the time. Should just take them off like they did in those pics.
  23. I remember picking up his Image stuff. I didn't like his work at first, but he really improved quickly. He pencilled a Backlash/Spider-Man crossover, IIRC. Whatever happened to Matt Broome? He started off with Wildstorm eventually doing that Defcon 4 mini-series which had some pretty cool pencils. I think he did a stint on WildCATs and maybe some of the X-Men books, but I'm not sure.
  24. How low does the gunpod hang with the arm armor in fighter mode?
  25. Man, sometimes I miss my comic collecting days. I was really into all the X-Men and Spider-Man titles, but then I got into collecting Japanese toys more and more, and the comic collecting got put on the backburner until I stopped collecting alltogether except for the occasional Transformers book. The ever-increasing cover price for comics also drove me to stop collecting since I just couldn't support too many hobbies anymore. What's the average comic cost nowadays from the big two? Maybe, I'll try to get some Ultimate Spider-Man tpb's on eBay and check it out.
