  1. Yeah, this is pretty encouraging as far as accuracy and QC issues go for Yamato. How pathetic!
  2. I'm wondering about this, too. One thing I'm hoping for, but I have a feeling they may not do, is a proper TV-style VF-1A head if they get around to the TV VF-1A Valks. Also, I'd love to see them do the detailed underbelly section between the wings that can be seen in the lineart in Gerwalk mode. I guess they couldn't do this on the 1/48 because of the swing bar and shoulder design. I'm anxious to see how they are doing the swing bar on this to minimize the low hanging arms in fighter mode.
  3. I agree. This should have the side covers, that piece that goes behind the neck (if it needs it), and hopefully, the intake covers are removeable (looks that way) and the retracted intake covers are molded and not cheap stickers. Speaking of Yamato's crappy stickers, I doubt that's one thing that's going to change. I wasn't looking forward to buying another line of VF-1's, especially from Yamato, but if they're priced right at this scale, and they come through on the 2-seaters, I might change my mind. It's going to be interesting to see how low 1/48 prices are going to fall once these come out. Damn you, Yamato!
  4. Can someone confirm that the standalone QF-2200D-B Ghost is the same as the one that comes in the VF-0S combo set? The standalone A version is painted different than the one that comes with the VF-0A Shin, right?
  5. Am I that blind or do I just not recall seeing the YF-21 with a fold booster in the OVA or movie? I thought the YF-21 was capable of folding without a booster, which is what I think Col. Millard Johnson said in the dubbed version of the OVA when he was explaining Project Super Nova to Isamu.
  6. Hey, Matt! Good to see you're still around! So, you picked up a VF-0S combo. Need one of those. We should hook up sometime. Later, Angel
  7. I'd be more impressed if these were from Macross mecha other than the VF-1's and Macross Plus stuff. If they ever get around to making enemy mecha or a VF-2SS figure, that'll definitely be newsworthy.
  8. Hey, dafunguy, where'd you get that display case? Does it come with the light fixtures installed? Who makes it? Very nice collection by the way and the display case is superb.
  9. Wow! Awesome collection! That display case is unique. Wonder who makes it.
  10. Speaking of quakes, we had a 5.7 quake on Tuesday of last week in the SF Bay Area, but thankfully, no one was hurt, or there wasn't any major damage. I had some stuff on a shelf that was about 5'5" high, and my 1/60 YF-19 Battroid and 1/48 Urban Camo GBP with VF-1J Hikaru took a dive to the carpeted floor. Luckily, the -19 didn't suffer any real damage aside from the upper back hinge separating from the bottom part and the head and neck piece popping out of place, which looked as good as new when reassembled. The GBP and VF-1J broke down into several pieces but nothing broke. Unfortunately, the armor has scuff marks, some smeared paint, and small indentations in the plastic in some parts. Gonna try using an exacto knife to try to rub off the scuff marks. Getting some display cases with doors is going to be a must in the future.
  11. Well, I don't see another forearm armor plate anywhere, so either they just forgot to put it on, or it's not part of their design, which would be a big oversight. Also looks like the armor plates on the sides of the legs don't attach anywhere at the bottom (so as not to limit the leg movement, I guess?). Are those white side covers in the lineart as opposed to the ones used on the large Gakken toy? Man, those armor plates on the back sit too low. Gonna have to see what these things look like when they finally come out. The bikes just don't look that impressive. I would just leave them in armor mode if they don't improve the design.
  12. Capcom NEEDS to get into this and have someone make toys of their shmup ships. Would love to see figures of the two transforming robots from Sidearms and their two combiner forms.
  13. Man, I'd give my right arm for some toys of all the different R-Type ships. Some toy company in Japan needs to make toys of the ships from all the shmups out there.
  14. Good thing I ordered these from Big Bad Toy Store since Joel is pretty accomodating when you have a problem. Hey Sqidd, I noticed you have your Revoltech 021 GR-2 holding the optional booster it came with in its hand. You do know that's an optional piece for the Revoltech 018 Giant Robo figure, right? You can replace the right booster with the optional one with the cannon it comes with and there's a piece that goes on Giant Robo's chest to provide support for the cannon.
  15. Hi all, I recently compiled a large slideshow of Macross/Robotech/Mospeada images on my iPod, and I also created a playlist to go along with it that includes music from the Macross Plus soundtracks, Robotech, and a few downloads from DYRL and SDF Macross. I really need the background music from SDF Macross and DYRL. Is this the CD set I would have to get? http://cgi.ebay.com/MACROSS-COMPLETE-IMPOR...VQQcmdZViewItem Does this set only contain bgm from DYRL or DYRL and the tv series? Also, where could I find the song that plays in the intro to the PS game Macross Digital Mission VF-X? Was there a soundtrack released for this game? Does the above CD set also have Minmay's songs, or would I have to buy a different set?
  16. 10 years from now, all the copies we own will be obsolete anyway when they come out with some super-duper ultimate deluxe edition for the 10th anniversary on HD-DVD (or Blu-Ray).
  17. I'd like to know if they will ever make a true TV-style VF-1A head. It would be great for VF-1A Max/Kakizaki repaints. And then they could rape us again with reissues of the Angelbirds and the CF with that head. There's four different Valks already that they could milk with that head.
  18. I guess most people here have been holding out on buying this one, eh? Well, anyone know of a Japanese website that has posted pics of the official release?
  19. Is this the first Hi Nu action figure ever released? Man, been waiting for this! I hope it doesn't suck. One of my fave Gundams.
  20. Man, I hope this is good. Wish Capcom would release updates to some of their older arcade games like Sidearms and Forgotten Worlds on the DS.
  21. I'll have to try that with the 1/100 Toynami Macross figures. I had one hand break while I was trying to pull it out of it's socket in the forearm. Now, the ball joint is stuck inside the socket.
  22. Man, the possibilities are endless! I just picked up a Revoltech Revy figure and I really like it! I was dreading that it was going to break easily like the KT Dead or Alive figures that are cool, but the joints break easily. Not to mention the Kaiyodo Spiderman figures. I tried bending one of the legs on the black Spiderman figure, which was my favorite, and it snapped off. It's too bad Kaiyodo didn't make these as sturdy as they do the Revoltechs. Anyone have a Revoltech break on them yet?
  23. Damn, don't they also put out Tenjho Tenge?! Did they finish putting out all the episodes for that?!
  24. Yeah, that's true for the heatshields that have the skull, but the VF-1J's and the VF-1A Production version all had the same type of heatshields with the U-shaped grooves and no emblems. I hope that some of you guys that can make and mold custom parts would make a more accurate heatshield for the VF-1J's and the non-Skull Squadron VF-1A's.
