  1. Yes, all the mecha designs are very awesome! And that's what's so unfair about the probability that we'll never get to see alot of that mecha as toys or even models. I really wish Bandai would reconsider there negative stance about the series. I suppose if they DO make a 1/100 parts-forming VF-2SS toy, it could generate interest in producing more Mac II toys, but those hopes could be dashed if they don't make a good VF-2SS toy.
  2. I lump Macross F along with Macross 7 - only watchable for the mech action. I found the characters annoying and uninteresting. The idol music isn't my cup of tea either. I guess I'm too old school, but the original series and movie were tops with Macross Plus and Zero being top notch also.
  3. Damn, that really sucks. I was really looking forward to these. I guess I'll stick with the plastic ones.
  4. Those Star Wars Troopers look awesome! How poseable are these? Been wanting to get any poseable Star Wars Clone/Stormtroopers in this scale. I really like the Kotobukiya/ArtFX fixed-pose figures, but it would be nice to have these, too.
  5. I'm not liking her face that much. Great body though.
  6. I wonder if thay had to eliminate that collar that goes around the neck to achieve this? The version 1 has it. Also, I'm surprised no one is really complaining about the shorter tailfins on this like the VF-11B.
  7. I'm really interested in finding out how the Elintseeker is going to turn out, especially with regards to the radar dish arm, which I never liked how they designed the attachment of the arm to the backpack. It just looks too plain. Hopefully they'll incorporate a design that looks more fitting. Regarding the smaller tailfins on the VT-1, the 1/55 Bandai was able to pull it off with normal-sized fins. Was this not possible for Yamato to do? And isn't the VT-1 supposed to have that white/cream colored piece around the neck like the first version?
  8. No kidding. Sometimes, I think I'm spending too much or buying too many of these toys, but I can't help it. They're just so damn cool. But I am running out of space, and I should be saving up for a house, especially with this being a buyers' market right now. I'll probably have to unload some other things that I just don't care much for anymore. I can't wait to see what Yamato has in store for later this year and beyond besides the SDF-1.
  9. I saw the figures at Walmart last week. You would think that in these bad economic times, Bandai would have shelved this movie, but I guess they think there's enough of a fanbase for the animated series that will see the movie. I would rather they try and bring back Gundam figures to the US.
  10. I didn't know if it was appropriate to name the guy, as my intention wasn't to start a flaming war.
  11. Wow! She looks great! Nice head sculpt. Wonder if Toynami is going to mess with the head on this one. I'm so glad I didn't pick up that horrid CMs version. I hope they release a Shinobu, too.
  12. This is an interesting thread. I'm probably going to offer a 1/100 Konig Monster in the For Sale forum soon. I had bought it a couple years ago on eBay from a MW member, and this guy had painted it in a flat black color (he dubbed it a Stealth Konig Monster). He forgot to mention (or show in his pics) that there were noticeable areas where the original paint shows through, which looks bad in some areas like the insides of the intakes, which were originally an orange color. The worst part though is that there is a screw hole on the bottom of each of the feet that is stripped around the edges like someone had tried to force a screwdriver that was bigger than the size of the holes into them. These are all things he forgot to mention in the auction description. I didn't notice these things right away until a year after I bought it because upon receiving it, I had opened it and looked it over quickly to make sure it was undamaged, and it was in shuttle mode, so the paint issue isn't noticeable in that mode. I was in the process of moving at the time, so I just boxed it up after looking at it quickly, and put it in my storage. A year ago, when I pulled it out and transformed it, I noticed the flaws. I contacted the guy, and he offered to give me a refund for what it sold for, but I had to ship it back to him, but he wouldn't pay for the shipping back. His excuse was "let the buyer beware" bs, and I told him that it was his responsibility as a seller to describe an item accurately. The flaws on this Konig Monster where all things that I'm sure he was aware of when he listed it on eBay since he did the custom work. I decided I wouldn't ship it back because I didn't know if he was going to follow through with the refund, and I would be screwed twice. I had won a few small custom painted items he had done (a 1/144 Bandai Macross 7 VF-17D Battroid/Fighter kit and a Doyusha YF-21 which he painted black) before, and they had turned out ok, so I trusted him when I bid on and won the Konig Monster. He prides himself on his custom work, but the paint job on this Monster is not very good. He didn't take it apart to paint it, which explains why there are areas where you can see the original paint showing through, but the worst part has to be the stripped screw holes at the bottom of the feet, which, as I stated, he forgot to mention. Anyway, I'll be taking pics of it soon and offering it in the For Sale forum.
  13. Yes, those are them. I guess they look pretty similar to the figures that were packed with those hideous Arii 15th Annivesary VF-1 Battroid/Gerwalk figures, but these are bigger.
  14. That's a trip about your customs problem. I sent Rinkya a Paypal payment last Wednesday when I was notified that the second one was in their warehouse, and I had them in hand on Saturday. The blue side covers aren't canon, but I like how they looked on it. I was gonna use those side covers on a VF-1J Max originally. I have some white ones that I will probably use with the VF-1A. The hands are also customs as they are more white than the ones that normally came with the TV Valks.
  15. I got a couple of these from Rinkya Japan yesterday. Very cool! I love the TV style VF-1A head. Hopefully, we'll get a Cannon Fodder, Angelbirds, and Miria version out of this. I also like that Yamato didn't use the glossy plastic for the heatshield on this. Anyway, I took some pics of it, which can be seen here: http://s698.photobucket.com/albums/vv345/sidearmsalpha/
  16. Hey all, I just received a couple of the Zentradi battleship kits that were reissued during the 15th anniversary by Arii. I noticed that they came with small, unpainted character figures. One kit came with a TV version Quamzin (Khyron) figure, and the other kit came with two figures (Hikaru and Max in their TV uniforms doing a salute). Anybody know if all the Arii kits released around this time came with character figures and how many other figures were made? The ones I have look pretty cool. Definitely worth painting and displaying.
  17. While I was picking up some GI Joes at Target yesterday, I glanced at the Star Wars section. Just love all the Clone/Stormtroopers that are coming out, but with all the stuff I already collect, I can't start with these, especially since I know I would have to army build. I also really like all the different human and alien pilot figures and various vehicles that have come out. Damn, have to resist temptation for now, unless I score the lotto!
  18. I haven't checked them out in sometime, but yeah, from time to time. Alot of great remixes there. I was never a Ridge Racer fan of the PS games, but all the games have some pretty amazing soundtracks. Been listening to the music on YouTube. Namco X Capcom has some pretty awesome remixes of classic Capcom and Namco character themes as well as some new stuff for that game. The new themes for old characters for SFIV are pretty wicked. Really digging M. Bison's theme in that game.
  19. My favorite Valk mode is Battroid, and I love the 1/48's over the new 1/60. Definitely keeping all the 1/48's as long as I can. I had picked up some extras to have customized someday, but we'll see. All the new 1/60's are staying in fighter mode as that is the mode I think they look better than the 1/48. As mentioned, the size of the 1/48's really makes them stand out, and considering I've never had a major QC problem with them, they are tops in my book.
  20. Transformed my VF-1D for the first time this morning to battroid, and I had the same problem with the right foot. I couldn't pull it out no matter how hard I pulled. The left foot came out pretty easily. I loosened the screws on the right leg and split the halves a bit and was able to slide the foot down. No other problems besides that. I'm going to see if the foot gives me anymore problems by transforming it back to fighter mode. Ok, just checked again, and it does require quite a bit more force to pull out the right foot than the left for some reason. I thought I was going to have to split the leg again to pull out the right foot, but it finally pulled out. Still after a couple tries, the fingers that I used to grip the feet got pinched by the ends of the feet as they slid off from me pulling so hard. Sucks! Never had this problem with a 1/48.
  21. I had brought this up sometime ago. That would make more sense. The SDF-1 spent more screen time in space in both the series and movie, so space suit crews would have been better. Oh well ...
  22. The thing is, the last reissues came out not even a decade ago in 2001/2002, and I doubt between then and now, there has been a high demand from Japanese Macross fans to reissue the SAME ones they already did back then, especially when you can still find them now going for less than what they retailed for. I doubt there has been a huge influx of new fans demanding the VF-1J Hikaru and VF-1S because they missed them the first time around also. They should have just continued from where they left off. And IIRC, the first Valk that was reissued was the VF-1J Hikaru. I was surprised that Bandai actually remembered that this is the one they forgot to include a heatshield with the last time they reissued it. So, I guess not everybody at Bandai is asleep at the wheel with these releases, but they are really missing a great opportunity to put out the unreleased ones. I'm surprised that the DYRL movie hasn't been re-released in theaters in Japan since 1984. This year (with it being the 25th annivesary) would be a perfect time to show it again like Lucas did with Star Wars. I'm sure there would be alot of new fans that might be interested in picking up the Bandai DYRL Valkyries, especially the Strike VF-1S, VE-1, and VT-1.
  23. A Full Armor Version would be so sweet, but I would settle for a GN-U type figure of that for now.
  24. I think these are great toys for the right price. I have never bought these for the asking price, as I don't think they are worth more than $15 each. The boosters can be a pain to put on and remove. It's just best to leave them on permanently as the piece that they come with to attach to the figure starts to become weak and stressed leading to breakage. I have the first and second sets with the armor parts, and they look great on display. These are so much better than the Banprestos. They could really use a pilot figure sculpted into the cockpit, but at least you get all the missiles types. The hinge on the backpack doesn't seem to be capable of supporting the added weight of the boosters sometimes. I do hope they follow through with the Regult and the GBP armor Toynami was showing off last year at San Diego Comic-Con.
  25. Yeah, it seems like all the weathered Destroids are commanding a price that is almost double for that of the regular ones. That's outrageous! For that, I'd rather do the weathering myself. I would rather get a regular and olive drab Destroid for the cost of one weathered version.
