  1. Is that Cannon Fodder the one that Toynami released, or is that a custom you painted? I was thinking about getting the Toynami one, but not if the brown paint matches that badly with the brown plastic.
  2. So impressed with the VF-27. Might pick up the green one. Man, if Bandai had done the VF-25 like this, I would be all over them! I hope Yamato gets the license someday and does the VF-25 justice.
  3. Actually, Bandai released some nice gashapon figures of the Regult a few years ago that included parts to make either the heavy missile or light missile versions. I'll take pics and update this thread.
  4. Just got one yesterday and another coming soon. Man, I'm impressed! This figure is nicely done. The sculpt is excellent! Can't wait for the rest. I hope this line does well, so we do get more obscure mecha and characters.
  5. Nah, on a toy with a sculpt that is this nice, they should include them. Not to mention that they already have the intake covers as removable, I wouldn't mind two extra removable pieces. This toy is not going to be cheap like the Toynamis are, so I don't mind a few extra parts to make it more worthwhile to buy and to make it look complete. If it doesn't come with them, I'll pass. I'm cool with the 1/60 Yamato version knowing I can purchase side covers from EXO or get them with the GBP set, at least.
  6. Just got the hinges! Thanks, Graham! By the way, I'm assuming these all have the smooth pins? Just wondering, so I don't have to extract the pins to check them all. Angel
  7. MacrossMan, this is one bea-utiful VF-1D custom! Still gotta nab me that VF-1A TV Kakizaki exclusive. Love the VF-1A TV Max. I can't wait to complete my 1/48 Vermillion Squad! I just need the TV Max to complete it in the 1/60 scale. I'm hoping to have a shelf set up for them with the new 1/60's in fighter mode and the 1/48's in Battroid. And you're so right about the side covers. They are a must. They look naked without 'em.
  8. You might want to consider adding to the poll or starting a separate poll to see how many battlepods have been purchased by MW members or even at Robotech.com just to get a general idea of whether they are selling well unless you can get actual sales figures yourself. I have purchased one and may buy a couple more.
  9. Anyone else having trouble ordering this? I set up an account with the site, and when I check out, I get an error message in a red box indicating that Internet traffic is busy. I've tried 3 times within the last 12 hours, and I keep getting the same message.
  10. Looks like a Front Mission mech. I forget since it's been awhile since I've played Konami's Cybernator, but is that the same mech or is it the mech from the Mega Drive/Genesis game? I know it's the US version of the Super Famicom Assault Suit game. Wish more companies would focus on shmup collectibles. I'm still hoping some company will produce figures of the two playable mechs from Capcom's Sidearms (my avatar is a cute version of the main mech).
  11. Wow! I'm really sorry I sounded condescending about the Battlepod in that thread towards you. Really nice of you to ask the fans directly for input on the next piece to be designed. And yes, I agree with most on a Glaug. Then the Nousjadeul-Ger. Let's focus on Macross/Robotech enemy mecha before moving onto the other series. I would love to see character figures of the TV characters and even Movie versions.
  12. I guess I could have been more specific, but yes, I was refering to the markings/tampo-printed stuff. It does look rather bland. Even a sticker sheet would have been nice. I don't see that adding too much more to the price. Well, I do have one on order. I see Toynami is already milking the mold with a missile pod version. I take it the next one will be the other missile pod variant? I don't mind getting each one if it means they'll eventually put out the Scout version.
  13. I was expecting it to be really detailed. Even the Revoltech one-ups it there.
  14. I forget the brand of oil he bought, but I don't think it was Armor-All. The brand you see in the picture is one he bought before that he couldn't find, so we went to a local drugstore (a CVS Pharmacy store), and he bought a little container of oil, but the brand escapes me. I'll ask him later today and have him comment here.
  15. Yeah, he fixed all of mine so far. The method works great. He even came up with a fix for the ones that had cracked hinges by using a baking soda/Krazy Glue solution that he looked up online, and it seems to be working. One VF-1A Hikaru that I transform all the time hasn't gotten worse.
  16. If you have a VF-1S Roy or a VF-1A Hikaru, it's inevitable that one or both shoulder hinges will crack even if you don't ever take them out of the box it seems. I had 2 VF-1A Hikarus that were never taken out of the box with the shoulders cracked when I inspected them. I decided to have my friend use his Dremel to sand down the slight knurling on the VF-1S Hikaru because I would rather be safe than sorry, and I only ordered so many of the replacement hinges for the VF-1A's, VF-1S Roy, and a VF-1J Hikaru. I even busted one of those pieces on the top of one of the intakes on one of my VF-1A Hikarus. It's the trapezoid-shaped hump that helps to keep the leg secure in fighter mode. The leg still holds because of the swing bar clip and the attachment on the back of the lower leg, but you can see a slight gap where the intake part meets up with the bottom of the chest plate. Never did that on a 1/48.
  17. My pal vf2ss fixed my VF-1S Hikaru by removing the pins and sanding down the knurling before the hinges ever cracked. I now have it posed on a Yamato stand in Battroid with the armor parts on and Exo's recast side and neck covers! Ok, this is off-topic...I was checking out the manual for the VF-1S, and I noticed one step that I'm not sure the VF-1S can do. One page shows that when transforming the VF-1S from fighter mode, the lower leg can be pulled down a bit from the knee joint. I tried to do it, but it doesn't seem to extend. I don't have the manual in front of me, so I don't know what page it was on. Is it possible or was that referring to something else?
  18. Yamato won't even make a true TV-style cockpit for the TV Valks they already put out let alone a TV VF-1S Focker with a Focker pilot.
  19. I hear ya on that. That Grendizer looks great and not hard on the wallet. I love alot of the Super Robots, but my wallet can only go so far, so I have to settle for less expensive versions of them. Although I did pick up the SOC Grendizer with the Spazer set because it was too awesome to pass up.
  20. Can the sitting CM's trading figures fit on the Megahouse Ride Armors?
  21. I guess I stepped on someone's vinyl tail. That's cool. I didn't realize it was still widely used as a material of anime toys. It just seems to be an odd choice from Toynami, but like it's been mentioned, I guess they're playing it safe on this. I hope their gamble works, and it sells out. Maybe, we'll see either more mecha, or a larger version with more bells and whistles, like a hatch that opens and a Zentraedi soldier. By the way, anyone who has passed on the Masterpiece Robotech Rand Cyclone should check out this seller on eBay who dropped the price on them and is clearing them out at $119.95! He also has all the Betas down to $99.95! http://cgi.ebay.com/ROBOTECH-MASTERPIECE-R...=item3efca8d67f
  22. Whoops! My bad. Well, I think I'll take a gamble and order one.
  23. Saw that a few days ago. It looks pretty nice. He sent me a close up of the bridge, and it looks good. Pretty amazing that it's mostly cardboard.
  24. Has Toynami confirmed if it's coming with stickers or painted-on markings? If not, that's another point against it.
  25. LOL! I lost it, and almost ruined my monitor with soda, you bastid! Man, ok. Regained control now. Why vinyl? Who the hell makes collectible toys out of vinyl anymore since Takatoku released those crappy vinyl (it was vinyl, right?) Macross figures?! The last vinyl toy I ever saw was that very limited Galvatron figure that some small company put out. My buddy got the orange "Lava" version. For what they were charging for it, it should have been PVC. I have all three Aoshima versions because I liked the fact that they included the extra parts like the missiles under the intakes and the missile pod-thingy on the left arm. I haven't had a total dud yet, but they are on par with the Toynami versions, quality-wise.
